  1. It was a huge momentum change though. Big games like this are all about momentum. Without them two plays, it would have been a lot closer at the half. I believe Coach McKinney and his staff had a great game plan for this game. They threw the ball really well to start off and then it opened up the running game. The thing that I was even more impressed with was how the Defense stepped up last night. That is really the best they have played all year. Just couldn't stop the QB sweep in the early going and eventually got wore out in the later stages of the game. Kudos to the dogs on a big victory but also a good game for Unaka to build on for the playoffs.
  2. Unaka is probably the slowest team in the state. Price, Taylor, and Ward are like grease-lightning. There is no reason to show up to this game bulldogs. It's already in the book. Exactly what do you get out of all the useless sarcasim there RangerCountry . Just trying to get some info on your team, or maybe you really feel that way . Just a laugh and to read your reaction. Both of these teams know exactly what each other has going for them since they have seen one another play on numerous occasions. All bs aside, i think offensively both teams are pretty much equal when if comes to speed. Yes Taylor is a fast back, but Unaka also has a burner in Richardson if he's healthy. The big difference that I see lies on the other side of the ball for both teams. What I mean by that is that Hampton's defense is much more agile and flies to the football while Unaka's is very inconsistent and sluggish at times. I do believe this will be an entertaining game for us all to watch. Unaka will have to score a lot of points and play great for 4 quarters while limiting penalties to have chance in the end.

  4. Well, I will give the "U" credit. They are fielding a much better team this year. The thing is, they will still be on the outside looking in at the Big Blue dominating in all sports. You must mean football and recently basketball because i'm pretty sure the Big Blue are always the whipping post in baseball for the Rangers. Correct me if i'm wrong . Anyways it should be a great year to watch some football in northeast TN.
  5. I say it will be a very close and physical game but im not quiet sure who pulls this one out. I should have a better idea after friday night.
  6. Very true both Unaka and Cloudland will need a lot of improvement if they want to compete with Hampton this year. Just as the scoreboard indicated, I would also have to give Cloudland a slight advantage over Unaka at this point due to line play and discipline. It was good to see Ethan Richardson #20 back on the field tonight, he had one very nice run. Cloudland looked strong with their traditional ground and pound but must develop a passing game in order to rise to the top in this conference.
  7. Bulldog50 you must mean "Unaka will not be as efficient when you get pads" but we will see. It's going to be a great season for Carter County football!
  8. I couldnt agree with you more pujo. Not sure about the line yet though, wont know until they strap em up in a couple weeks. The line will be big and now has some experience under their belts so who knows. Today's passing tournament was very competitive. This is going to be an interesting year.
  9. If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't Hampton's line fairly young last year? If so that size should become a clear cut advantage for them this season.
  10. Its a little early for trash talk dont you think.... Keep working hard Rangers!
  11. Pink bringing his creative mind to the creek is a great thing. Expect a completely overhauled offense with numerous formations with different schemes. This team is very young but has the athletes to make it work but it all depends on how the now experienced but still young line develops. Should be interesting to see.
  12. Congats to Unaka on getting the first two big ones behind you. Remember though to not get too complacent. Strive yourselves to get better every game and especially every practice. The top is where we belong but do not take it for granted because all these teams are licking their chops to gave the top spot as we found out last year. I will have to give Kudos to UH for taking a decent team last year and seizing the opportunity. It wont happen again. Trandition will uphold and I believe it is time to see a what happens when a good team makes themselves a great one. Now that is Unaka Baseball for you in a nut shell.
  13. Im not surprised to see this score at all. Although Unaka is very competitive this year, they are still very young. Inconsistancy is their flaw and this is because of the youthness of the team. They will continue to improve and will start being more consistant in the future. It's going to be a fun district and regional to watch.
  14. To coin this game in one word, Classic comes to mine. A little old, a little new, but without a doubt a classic. Hughes is an amazing player and also a good person and has a great family supporting him. Best of luck to him. In my opinion the best guard in the area. Not just because he has the potential to be a prolific scorer on any given night, but because of the leadership he provides to a very young and talented team which deperately need him to lean on. As far as Unaka goes, Im am very pleased to finally see something is back which has defined the program over the past couple decades. Something that just makes peoples stomachs quiver. Something so easy but powerful enough to make teams ultimately dread playing against it. Is it magical? no... Can it be coached? emphasized at best.... Does it take an exceptional athlete to do? not at all... I have been thoroughly refreshed tonight. THIS IS UNAKA RANGER BASKETBALL!!!-Effort, Determination, Hardwork, PRIDE, and alot of heart. Anything else is unacceptable. Good Luck to both teams the remainder of the season and throughout the tournaments.
  15. Vador i wouldn't be so confident if I was you. Yes, Hampton is probably the best team in the conference as of right now, but this conference is going to be a brawl this year. I know it and you know it. Quite frankly, I cant wait to seen how everything folds out at the end. Should be some good games in carter co. in the near future. I might jut have to come sit with ya to get ya all riled up. haha
