  1. With one week left in the regular season, how does everyone think the district will end up going into the tournament. Who will have the best chance to do something in the region tourney?
  2. They were considered the "best" Class A team in Chattanooga last year having won a school record 25+ games. My point is that a young and inexperienced CSAS team developed enough during last year to play well until they played FCS. If memory serves me correct FCS had a similiar experience to the experience CSAS had last year when they visited CSAS the year before for a substate loss....and the experience certainly helped them. Say what you want about the Patriots but to underestimate this team would be a huge mistake.
  3. CSAS was young and inexperienced last year having lost 90+% of their offense, defense and experienced players from back to back state tournaments but still beat the best Lookout Valley team they had seen in years to make it to the substate. The Patriots lost only one consistently significant player. Overlooking them will be a mistake.....but go ahead. See you in March!
  4. Thought it might be interesting to look back almost a month to the final Associated Press poll for the 2011 season. Hampton, Middleton, CSAS, and Clouldland are the only teams left standing. Class A School Record Pts Prv 1. Clarksville Academy (18) 24-1 206 1 2. Hampton (1) 23-3 176 2 3. Humboldt 21-2 166 3 4. Middleton (2) 23-1 153 4 5. Columbia Academy 23-3 111 5 6. Chatt. Sch. For Arts 20-4 88 9 7. Westwood 18-7 77 8 8. Forrest 23-5 56 6 9. Cosby 19-4 45 7 10. Cloudland 20-5 35 10
  5. When CSAS is focused on DEFENSE (which it has been almost every game this year) they are tough to beat. They were focused for the second half.....imagine if it had been four quarters!?! Something for them to continue to work on and get better before next week!
  6. The Patriot DEFENSE was awesome! The Friendship players did not want the ball in the second half.....it was a sight to see!
  7. Don't know who has said CSAS is confident of an easy victory.........the players and coaches know this game will take their best effort to move on to the next game. Third Street is a tough place to play in this type of game, as I am sure would be the same at your gym. The Patriots will be focused on the job at hand!
  8. The only thing that Clarkrange has in common with CSAS is that both their names contain a "C"!
  9. CSAS won. Not sure of the score. They cleared their bench up 22 with a minute or two left. The Patriots will host Friendship and Lookout Valley will travel to Clay.
  10. CSAS won by 22 but Lookout upended the Eagles of Signal Mtn!
  11. Well it looks like if Van Buren wins the District 6-A Tournament they would face Temple in round one and probably Grace in round two (assuming Grace beats Signal Mtn.).
  12. Who do you think Van Buren compares equally to in 5-A? Grace? Silverdale? Temple?
  13. District 5-A Tournament is now in the books as CSAS defeated Grace Saturday night and Silverdale edged Temple. Who do you think will match up in the first round of the region with each of these teams? What are the chances for the teams from 6-A? I think 5-A is looking pretty strong.
