  1. Dude, your name is “Playerscoach”. Fair assumption by Elmer.
  2. Such an exciting life you guys must have!
  3. Not surprised to see Playerscoach be offended by Hatesoccerparent’s post. I love that handle btw.
  4. I haven’t seen Greeneville play. But I will say this: people, normally on the losing side, use this excuse way too often. Soccer is a physical game, but it’s not as physical as the way high school boys in the US play. At least according to the rules. I can’t watch a quality high school game, especially between two high level teams, because it’s one body slamming into another over and over. When a rare team (very rare) tries to play true possession soccer, more often than not the opposing team is fouling at every opportunity. Few refs give yellows for repeated fouls. Yellows are generally just for hard fouls and mouthing off. You say not enough cards for simulation, I say not enough cards for repetitive and hard fouls.
  5. Whoa! Richard Belding! Didn’t know you liked soccer. We’re a long way from Bayside though.
  6. I’ve completely given up on this. I just scroll right through his posts. In all seriousness, Booger, is it really worth the time it takes you to type this way?
  7. WTH?! First, if he received two yellows he’s kicked out for the remainder of the game but would be coaching again next game. If he received a straight red, I believe he’s suspended for the next 1 or 2 games. Second, come on. You know that’s not common for other coaches. I’ve never seen this before. As for common for him, I don’t know. I’m assuming Webb lost this game and are done?
  8. LOL that’s not a penalty shootout.
  9. When did ND lose a penalty shootout?
  10. Thanks! The numbers being the way they are, obviously one of the #2’s has to get a first round bye at state, but why does this privilege go to the West?
  11. Big G can you post an updated Division II A bracket? Or post the link to the website?
  12. This description, combined with the bracket Big G posted - I can’t make sense of this. Do 12 teams from Division II A make it to state? How does that work? After the Region Semifinals are played, there’s another 3rd place game, but all 4 of the teams advance to state? And then play each other again? That’s the way it looks in that bracket. And according to eurosportscoreboard.com, Webb beat TKA 6-0 yesterday. A rare score posting. Between that site and this one, very few scores are posted these days. Several years ago, everyone posted scores. You’d think with the direction of technology, it would actually get easier to find out game results, not harder.
  13. Who plays at home in the Region Quarters? When 2 seed plays 3 seed?
  14. Thanks G. Man, that is complex.
  15. I see. Thanks for clearing that up. CAK beat TKA 3-0 last week in final regular season game. Last night they tied 1-1. TKA won in a penalty shootout. Even though TKA’s scores are literally not posted anywhere, I believe this year they have the best team they’ve ever had.
  16. This is confusing. Can anyone fully explain how Division II does their postseason? I know TKA beat CAK last night and so that District Final should be TKA at Webb. I have no idea what happens after that.
  17. CAK lost in district semifinals tonight. Does that mean they’re done? Or does division 2 do some weird format?
  18. Oh, you were referring to fernando’s post. Never mind.
  19. Just to clarify, I was talking only about East TN teams.
  20. Okay so Greeneville is the best team in East Tennessee this year right? Looks like it from the scores. They’ve always been pretty good, more so with the girls, but apparently they’re really good now. And coincidentally the first year without having to compete with private schools for State. I’m going to have to try to see this team play.
  21. Yes. Thank you. I didn't feel like researching from years past. And of course there is no solution that will please everyone. I feel like lots of folks are saying that over and over. That is really stating the obvious. But, there does seem to be plenty of evidence that suggests there should be some kind of change. Your champions league thing sounds awesome btw.
  22. Also. Big G, CHAMPS, and any others that this could be directed toward: why don't you all make some legit points? Or just refrain from posting altogether? Every time I see one of these threads I see the same names posting sarcastic things like "blah blah blah, here we go again, public school people whining, etc". These dumb posts become very tired. Oh, and I realize you all have probably made legit replies years ago, but this is an ongoing debate and one that I believe is actually going to end in some changes soon - one way or another. Your sarcastic posts suggest that you all just want the issue swept under the rug so you can get back to dominating A/AA (from whichever private school you choose to do this from).
  23. I'm late to the game here, but just wanted to very quickly add my thoughts. I just read the entire thread. I spent alot of my free time this morning reading it, so now unfortunately I don't have the time to make a detailed reply. So... First, I've always been very on the fence about this subject. If I've leaned more one way or the other, it's been toward not splitting (reasons for this have been covered by many posters on this thread, I'm not going to rehash them now). With that being said, 1925kee has made some great points. Very convincing. But by far the best post was by yaxis. I too have heard much talk about the 4 classification idea. I don't want to waste time repeating what yaxis said, I just want to say this particular idea seems easily the best solution. Those private schools who dominate A/AA will get some better competition without having to compete with 2,000+ enrollment schools. And the smaller public schools will have a realistic playing field. Seems to me the epitome of "happy medium". Right?
  24. I'll be damd. We should have stayed then. I had no idea. Also I had no idea you could do that.
