  1. He's healthy. the only problem he had last week was cramps. Tellico suffered the same thing against sweetwater. O'dells "fumble" on the 5 was very questionable, even when the ref said he couldn't see the ball. Like Sequoyah, if that bad call hadn't have happened, Tellico would have been in it, "different game, different score". This should be a good one with both being as young as they are.
  2. I have seen both teams this year as well. with three starters missing from both lines and #33 and #1 hurt. But, found out today that all 5 were released by the doctor and will be back starting Friday Night. I highly doubt Sweetwater by 21 points. If that's true, they better find more offense than what they had against Wartburg.
  3. I did hear there was a scrimmage with Copper basin and Tellico. I think it was the 6th.
  4. Hmmm...and you're basing that on how Tellico did at the 7 on 7? From what i saw, Tellico looked good. The only team Tellico didn't beat was Bradley. After talking to some of the coaches that play Tellico, they all seem to think that Tellico will be in the post season again this year. Some are even picking them to win their district. Is your prediction based on performance or emotion? after reading the paper Sunday, tellico has two pre-season All state performers in O'Dell and Sloan. The sports editor for the advocate said that Tellico only lost 2 starting linemen on offense and four starters on defense from last year. It looks more like their season will be long in the way being 11, 12, 13 games. As for Central, Unless Satterfield has finally got control of his team, it will be very hard for Sequoyah to knock them off, even after losing Rayl. Central never has a shortage in talent! I think it will be Polk 1st, Central 2nd, with Sweetwater, Sequoyah, and Meigs fighting it out for the bottom.
  5. If you go to the tssaa website, you will see that Tellico only has 485 students. That isn't even half of Sequoyah, Central, Polk, Sweetwater......If this district is so much better laiden with tallent, then tellico would not have scored 28 points on Meigs in one quarter, 42 points on Sweetwater, and of course beat Sequoyah in overtime. The key word here is "BEAT". Tellico beat every team in that district except Polk and Central. The facts speak volumes. Anyway.....Tellico looks like it is gearing up for another great season. Pre-Season All State Running back Deon O'Dell is returning after a 1,500+ yard season. After watching them play 7 on 7 Thursday, They looked really good. #12 looks to be gone, but Tellico has a whole slew of receivers that looked impressive. I have never seen such a large group of receivers that could catch so well! I went to see Central, and Tellico showed up! Add receivers like that to a running game with #33 and #40, Tellico is definately gonna be a force. Rockwood and Harriman will definately be two games to watch when Tellico steps on the field with them Tellico Definately makes the playoffs for the second straight year. I think the program is finally getting life back.
  6. Allways, for Tellico having a long season, do you mean long as in more than simply 10 games, or long as in bad?
  7. What time are the scrimmages. Would love to come watch!
  8. Haven't heard anything since Marsh was hired. What's up? When is Spring Practice? Who will Sweetwater be scrimmaging?
  9. Goose, who all are dropping them in basketball?
  10. I thought the same thing. But, my source says they are thinking about taking the forfeit as a type of protest. Ah, who knows.
  11. I heard through the grapevine that Rockwood and Harriman are planning to drop Grace for the next two seasons since the game only counts towards overall record and that Rockwood is even looking to add another game for those two seasons. Any truth to this?
  12. I want to see Harriman and Tellico Plains. After last year, I think it will be a dog fight!
  13. I heard Tellico is having Spring Practice sometime in the next 2 weeks. How does everything look to be shaping up?
  14. I agree with the last post. If Coach Satterfield said it, I'd believe it. He is an upstanding man who is highly respected on and off the field. But I'm not saying he did or didn't say it. I do know that when Coach Satterfield left Grace, there were rumors flying in every direction that he was fired for stealing. If Coach Satterfield had blown the whistle about Grace and their cheating, all that would have been said is that Coach Satterfield was trying to cover up his own bad character by trying to tear down Grace's reputation of being a Christian Institution. The funny thing is, it doesn't matter if Coach Satterfield said that or not. What is funny is that EVERYONE in the state knows what Grace's reputation is. They are a school that has allowed cheating on the administration level. Head coaches, Athletic Directors, and Principals get the same exact rule book as Grace's football coaches, basketball coaches, athletic director, and principal every year. Ignorance is a poor defense. I do feel sympathy for Grace. The majority of the school is not guilty. It is 4 or so individuals that have forced the majority of the teachers, students, and coaches to have to be associated with the reputation of cheaters and liars. A statement from Coach Satterfield is unnecessary. Grace cheated. Nothing else needs to be said.
  15. Word has it that Satterfield (who preceded McKamey) will be more than happy to discuss the situation at Grace in great detail if the TSSAA would only call him. Seems like it was being done when he was there as well. Now that he is at Sequoyah, doesn't feel like he should keep his mouth shut ANY LONGER.
