Yes that is correct, but that was the year that a few of the players smoked weed at camp after Mr. Perry told Coach Martin to let a young man back on the team after he had been kicked out of school for selling weed. The players at camp were kicked off by Coach Martin, many of them starters and seniors, but again Mr. Perry forced Coach Martin to put them back on the team. From that point forward the team was a mess as the suspended players wanted their starting positions back when they returned.

I am currently interested in getting back into coaching. I have over 13 years of experience with both the public and private schools. 10 on a HS level coaching receivers, tight ends, and D backs. I have 3 years on the Middle school level as an Offensive Coordinator. If anyone knows of a school (private or public) that would consider a non-faculty position coaching football, assistant AD, and a on-staff substitute teacher please respond to this message. Thanks.

Not sure. All I have to go on is it shows enrollment now as 633 with the multiplier. I believe they have something like 335 students in grades 9 through 12. They did move up in football from 1A to 2A.

No the years they won they were still in class 3a. Each district is made up of teams from different classifications. The ones that go to the playoffs are the ones that finish usually in the top 4 of the district and how they are seeded are how they did againist the other same calssification teams in their district. When the TSSAA did their re-organization a few years ago that was how they made the districts with all different classifications in a district. From TSSAA 2013 Handbook pages 2 and 3. III. GENERAL REGULATIONS (Division I: Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A) A. There shall be 24 teams in the Class 1A and Class 2A play-offs. There shall be 32 teams in the Class 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A play-offs. B. Each district/region shall be comprised of teams from two subdivisions. 1. In Class A, districts/regions will be comprised teams from two subdivisions: Class 1A and Class 2A 2. In Class AA, districts will be comprised of teams from two subdivisions: Class 3A and Class 4A. 3. In Class AAA, districts shall be comprised of teams from two subdivisions: Class 5A and Class 6A. C. Teams are required to play all other teams in their district/region unless the district/region is comprised of nine teams. In the case of a nine team district/region, the district/region can vote to play a “pod scheduleâ€. The nine teams would be placed in three groups of three teams. Each team would play the other two teams in their pod and two teams from the other two pods for a total of six district/region games. The six district/region games in the pod schedule shall be designated as district/region games for each team. If a team chooses to play a game against a team in the district/region that is not a designated district/region opponent, the game shall count as a non-district/non-region game for the purpose of district/region standings. D. Teams shall qualify for the play-offs by finishing 1st or 2nd in their district/region or by placing high enough in the state wide standings for their classification based on a set criterion. If the 1st place team in the district is under disciplinary action from TSSAA and, as a result, is not eligible for the play-offs then the 2nd place team shall be moved up to 1st place and the 3rd place team shall be moved up to 2nd place. Coin toss Once the 24 teams have been selected in the Class 1A and 2A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped into four six-team quadrants. Once the 32 teams have been selected in the Class 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped into four eight-team quadrants. This grouping will be done without regard to district/region alignments. Priority for seeding once the teams have been placed in their geographic quadrants shall be as follows: 1. Teams finishing 1st in their district will receive first priority. 2. Teams finishing 2nd in their district will receive second priority. 3. Teams who do not finish 1st or 2nd in their district and qualify based on their position in the football play-off standings shall receive last priority.

No GP was 3A for the past several years and was put there by their request. Their enrollment had them in a lower classification. GP did not win the district last year, White House did. GP finished 3rd behind WH and Westmoreland. As for the game Friday, TC will win by 3 TDs.

Sorry you feel all I have said is crap, but what you have in your post is the same thing I have been saying. It is not old information, it came directly from the TSSAA web site. Maybe I just did not state it clearly for everyone to understand. I have over 15 years of TN HS coaching experience with both public and private schools. So I do not have a dog in the hunt, just wanted to ensure that everyone understood that all schools are in the classifications they are supposed to be in based on the current rules.

Upper, Unless you have proof I would be careful making blanket statement about all privates recruiting. I would also include Open-Zoned schools who do have kids from outside of their zone in school and playing sports only if they pay a tutition fee. Also, there are some public schools who recruit.There is more to a level playing field than just privates.When we just say privates and no one else it makes us look prejudice and making excuses when we lose to a private school.

Excuse me I should have said Class A not 1A. There are only 3 Classes A, AA, and AAA for all sports except football playoffs then there are 6.

No you are incorrect. Please look at the TSSAA site, schools with 1 to 632 in enrollment are 1A. 633 and up are broken into 2A and 3A. Please do some research before making statements.
