I was hoping for an easier rd 1 matchup but hope the Cats can get it done Friday night.Oak Ridge is an odd team that has me excited thinking we can make it to State.Then 10 mins later I could see us losing this game.If our line can block at all we already know Dozier will do what he does.Our young QB has got better and better but is still a sophomore and has no playoff experience.I think each game from here on will be the same story.Can Oak Ridge win upfront or at least no get whipped.If so I think we can beat anybody in 5A.I just wish we had a little more depth at key spots(RB,DL,OL,LB) and I would feel like we were favs to win it all.Unfortunately we dont so staying healthy and sharp will be key.Lets pack the ship and get a big playoff win.This SR group deserves our support for all they have worked through.

The Clinton coaches feel good about the draw.They seem confident about playing some different guys at RB and moving the ball.If you can whip Clinton upfront they really struggle but they think McMinn has a solid defense but not good enough upfront to stop the run and more importantly get after the QB.I think the Clinton QB will run more than he has all year.The Clinton defense is a weakness but the style of offense McMinn plays is what Clinton is best at stopping.I was thinking Mcminn 28 to 20 but now going with Clinton.Lets just hope the Clinton coaches are better at evaluating than they are coaching.The Oak Ridge /McMinn game was so odd I cant remember much about what McMinn had.Just going off what they say Clinton has a big advantage at skill spots.McMinn a little better upfront but not enough to matter.I guess we will find out because I thought McMinn was pretty good upfront.

How Clinton gonna cheat so bad and still lose.Running that mouth all offseason but forgot games had to be played.I love seeing Don in that ugly orange and black looking lost and confused as ever.Clinton people really bought in to Coach Keith but surely see through the bs now.Quit going and recruiting all the East TN malcontents that nobdy else wants to put up with and play with Clinton players.That man obsessed with Oak Ridge and thought getting anybody from Oak Ridge was a big win for him.Didnt even realize he was just helping us out so we dont have to deal with them and some of their crazy parents.Poor kids on his team still never seen Clinton beat Oak Ridge.What will he try next

I agree and why I have Powell 34 Oak Ridge 13.Game will be closer than the final score will show.Good news is I think this will be a great learning experience for the young Sophomore QB Stansberry.Besides Oline I think lack of experience and talent at LB will really hurt Oak Ridge tonight.Ill be on the fence cheering for my Ridgers.Get a big win for Willie this yr.Go Cats

Yea something is fishy when any team has over 10 transfers but transferring to Clinton is real suspect.Anybody that talks about them brings up what the coaches have been saying to kids and what is going on.Maybe they will get away with it since its just Clinton.But getting back to game I dont see how Clinton could lose this game.Even getting outcoached bad wont keep this one close.I got Clinton 54 Scott 6.I think JKeith has a big game

This team is quietly going thru the offseason and has a real shot at being really good.Losing BK will be hard to replace on defense but if the learning curve with the new staff doesnt take too long this team will surprise some people.Besides LB we should be better at every position.This could be the best Dline we have had in a while.Go Cats

Karns isn't going away. Very talented team. They will be in the district finals.

 

Ray Ray has improved so much and got this team back on track with Scott out.Scott has kinda of been in a slump since the injury but as he gets back to normal we should get even better.Add that in with an improved Ray Ray and we could make a decent run a State.Comer is dealing with lingering injury that hopefully gets right soon but its up in air right now.We really need him back vs the best teams

Bingo.Ive seen that at Oak Ridge and wondered why someone would go from HC to Asst and thats why.Could be a big deal for some families.And Ive always heard they pay the HCs very well.

I have always liked Joe and just because I dont agree with him dont mean I have no use for him.But everyone around the program had knowledge that Principal Adams wanted and hired Scott.It was also known that Joe and others didnt like the hire.A few parents complained about bad language and Scott was never warned or told he needed to cut it out.He goes to this meeting and is blindsided by all of this and had no idea what was about to happen.Now most ADs would have gave their coach a heads up and as a former coach went to bat for him.Now I dont know every little detail and maybe Scott has left something out.Maybe somehow Joe was blindsided and didnt know what was about to happen.But it dont look good when you have made comments to people though out the yr not backing your HC.I know for Joe its hard when kids you coached have parents that come up and bad mouth the new coach and you like them and try to please everyone.But as a former coach you know how parents are and you cant let them have their way.I just dont think its right for a man to move his family and you dont give him a fair shake.Not to mention how bad Scott wanted this job and was putting in so so much time.I have people all over that school from top to bottom and have not heard anything else besides bad language, attitude and hard to get along with.But if anything else comes out that proves Scott in the wrong I will be the first to say I was wrong.It would make me feel better about the whole thing if there was a valid reason.

Joe will be the one making the hire.From everything Ive heard our new principal is giving Joe all the say unless there was some unreal red flag.How could anybody be excited or justify bringing the staff from HV back after they gave us one of the worst seasons in Oak Ridge history.Scott had to fix a lot of issues and if you remember when he was hired, he laid out all the things our program had to fix or get better at.Last thing we need is anybody that was fine with the way things were being done.Our only hope is Joes love for Oak Ridge will win out over hiring a friend instead of a better option.I just cant imagine there not being better options than what is at the school now or HV.Well besides the one we ran off

I think you missed it again.But the main point is lets dont act like bad language is so bad when other coaches have done far worse.And  Liberty is another road you dont wanna go down.They hired and loved H.Freeze and his resume was a lot worse than somebody that uses bad language.And I think Liberty is a great school so no hate toward them but lets be real when it comes to sports.Liberty,AC and many more care more about winning than always doing the right thing or caring about morals.And to be fair I dont believe Oak Ridge got rid of Scott because they really cared about the bad language.Im not saying it is fact but it is looking more and more like Joe and some others just didnt like him and found a way to get rid of him.If Oak Ridge hires someone close to Joe than I think it confirms what he was going to do the day he took the AD job no matter what Scott did

Like i've said before i've been yelled and cursed at by multiple State Championship coaches  and turned out just fine.  I know they wanted to bring the best out in me and had these conversations with them after seasons end.  It help me not be so thin skin about life and not get offended like everyone gets now a days, also didn't hurt my work ethic and help me create a successful business that take the same discipline they taught me. 

Yes exactly. Coaches looking other way and showing kids winning is more important than doing the right thing.Seems a lot worse than bad language 

The girls have continued to get better.I would love to see them get healthy and see what they can do.It seems like every time we get one back another one goes down.Another blowout win over Clinton.The streak goes on

Our Wildcats didnt play great again tonight but pulled away and pounded the Dragons.Always fun to watch

I dont think an AC fan wants to go down this road.Dont forget what your coaches allowed, and it is a lot worse than bad language.I personally like the coaches who dont use bad language but in no way do I think its something you fire a coach over.Especially when that coach had no warning or was ever told a few parents had a problem.And lets be real it was only a problem when the player didnt get to play.Funny how that works

That's what this country needs, more grown men choosing yelling and cussing kids as a career choice.  Maybe if your "great leaders" would have lead you a little more in English class you wouldn't have had to join the Marines and would have gotten to play football at the next level.

This country could use more Marines and less of the type of people worried about grammar on a football message board.You dont have to yell and cuss to get through to these kids but its not gonna hurt them.What hurts them is the parents or parent who dont hold them accountable and blame everyone else

I was told to go back and think about what player or players parents may have been mad about their kid not getting playing time and you will figure out what parents started all this.Anybody close enough to the program also knows Joe wasnt crazy about Scott from the jump.Never heard a reason but just know he wanted someone else.Maybe Joe wanted his staff and Miner to get the job.Maybe he has a past with Scott.Ive never heard a real reason why he didnt like him.Also anybody that was close enough to the bench the last game of season got to witness tempers flaring on sideline with Ast coach and player.Plus some of the parents who complain every week was showing their backside even more knowing it was last game.Until someone shows me any reason to believe otherwise I think it all comes down to Scott wasnt friendly enough,used vulgar language and Joe and admin jumped all over anything they could to get what they wanted anyway.I just hope somehow all sides can come out better because it would be a shame to let a few people ruin it for so many.
