they did show class and sportsmanship, a testament to their coaches and school leaders no doubt, but it's a shame when people are praised for doing the right thing IMHO.

they probably are, but not because they were last years champs...

they were the champs from last year. there may be a few changes as in graduation, new players stepping up, or better competition. i've never understood why teams get rated on last years performance. they could very well win it all again this year but last years rank shouldn't automatically give them the top rung this year... IMHO

Maryville only lost by a field goal, having missed one attempt of their own, and did this without their 3-yr starting QB.....not too bad IMHO
