  1. A district changed the venue for their district playoffs to the site chosen as the "neutral" site for their regional playoffs. Does this compromise the neutrality of the site and put the teams in the opposing district at a disadvantage? ?
  2. I am leaning toward Grundy on this one. The combo of Coffelt, Meeks, Wiseman may be more than Sequatchie can handle.
  3. I would call both of these games a "Coach's Choice." Meaning the coaches of Upperman and Cannon County will choose how high the winning margin is depending on how soon they bring on the subs. On the other hand, I would love to see York and Smith really bring it and prove us all wrong.
  4. I'm sure that overestimation may apply in some cases. But my folks in Grundy tell me that point guard Haley Meeks is spending single-digit minutes on the bench per game, is consistently notching double-doubles in points and assists and very nearly has notched two triple-doubles in points, assists and steals. I would say that would support any argument that a Freshman can make an immediate impact on a varsity team.
  5. Indian what were the results of yesterday's games at the Walker Valley tournament?
  6. Put it in a post. Plenty will chop the Hoopgurlz list up into tiny bits and stomp on it with both high tops, boots or footwear of choice or just plain ole beat it with a big stick. We bashers of lists do love a good bash. It's just in our nature to have an opinion that differs another. Call it bashing if you want. This is called a forum for a reason. A platform to discuss varying opinions on a topic.
  7. The only thing I really dislike about the site at the Tennessean is that it looks like they have discontinued posting the assist and rebounding leaders and are only posting the leading scorers. As we all know basketball is not just about the points but the total package. Listing scoring, assist and rebounding leaders for the whole state would be a great addition to the CoachT boards. It is a lot of info to process but could be offered as a part of Plus Member access or make it an Extended Plus option for an extra fee.
  8. If you check out the stat boards on the Tennessean website, you can find some of the high scorers. But, if your coach doesn't send in the stats they don't get posted so the info is limited.
  9. On a positive note, I think it speaks well of the high level of girls basketball in the state of Tennessee that he has composed a list of this many girls. And that at least that number or even more have been left off the list. When you factor in the Freshmen that have yet to be recognized...things are looking good in Tennessee.
  10. Nice to see Coach Chad's and the Lady Blaze's hard work and dedication to the program paying off. Let's hope it pays off BIG!
  11. I know Meeks is the Freshman point guard. Are Wiseman and Coffelt the Sophomore posts? Nice win, go team Jackets!

She has D1 potential because she is almost 6 foot and a point guard who can see the floor, score, rebound, and pass the ball. She is a total package. I brought this post over from another thread to add Haley Meeks to this list and just add that she is one tough competitor. At a Team Pride open gym Coleman was running about 50+ girls thru a 2 on 2 drill where you had to score to stay on the floor. Meeks was one of the first 2 on offense and sent 45 girls off the floor. She scored 15 times straight from all over the floor. Unfortunately Coleman took her off the floor before she beat out all 50+. Good Luck at Grundy...have fun, stay fierce!
  13. She is originally from Grundy. She moved to Smyrna for a couple of years but moved back to Grundy her 8th grade year.
  14. I got to watch Meeks and Grundy defeat Smyrna yesterday in Mboro. It's hard to believe she is just a freshman with the basketball skills and composure she showed on the court. She is long and athletic. I would not be surprised to she her hit 6' before she quits growing. We will definitely miss having her in the Rutherford County district.
