  1. Listen, i am not saying that ba or ensworth or any other schools violate the rules. Of course they do not receive a full ride, that is illegal. What is not illegal is for parents to give other parents money....as long as that money is not used for tuition. So people will put the gift toward mortgage and pay tuition with there paycheck. This is not against the rules. I know this goes on because I have witnessed it and have had it explained to be by parents of both schools. Many of times the kid isn't even an athlete, but A parent looses a job and other parents help them out. It is the only way to get around the rules, and it happens frequently. No students receive full rides by the schools, but people help them out so they don't pay and it is within the guidelines of the tssaa
  2. It isn't cheating since it's not against the rules. Why do you think ensworth and Brentwood academy have not been caught for this? They pay directly to the families, and none of that money is used for tuition. The kid may not even be a good athlete, but that's how schools legally help out families that can't afford a new car (tuition) yearly
  3. Just curious....you people do realize that I could give a family in need 10,000 dollars and tell hek to use it for morgsge, and for them to use all the money they have towards tuition. MBA was either to lazy or incompetent to cheat this way, which is why they were brought down. If you do not believe this goes on at other dII schools you are completely delusional.
  4. Winner: Corn Elder, Ensworth 3 Finalists: Corn Elder, Ensworth C.J Beathard, BGA Toby Baker, MUS Other possible finalists (in order of like likely hood) Cory Batey, Ensworth Jordan Smith, BGA Alex Dale, MUS Al Thompson, BA Austin Blackwell, MBA Austin Prevost, Ensworth Rodney Edminston-Ensworth
  5. Here is my input on how the ballot will turn out. Winner: Woody Baron, BA. 3 Finalists: Woody Baron, BA Graham Shuler, BA Barret Gouger, Baylor Other Possible Candidates (order of likely hood: Ben Still, MUS Blake Bars, MBA James Kay, MBA Tye Youngblood, McCallie
  6. Really not that big of a deal...just an insight to how the game went. Why do you call Ensworth Mappleworth? And Corn will run for 250...
  7. From what I have heard the big red may have suffered two detrimental losses against PC. I have heard that rb/cb Jhamall Wright suffered a concussion, and I saw that he was taken out of the game. Also lb James Kay may have suffered ligament damage in both shoulders? I don't know if that's right, but I noticed he also did not play the 4th quarter. These two injuries could prove to be detrimental, for the defense has not looked great through the first 6 games. Even if these two players are out, I'm going to say MBA 24-10. They do have talent, but have to minimize their mistakes, mostly in the red zone. What's Ryan got this year? Heard from a parent their qb can really run.
  8. I wouldn't be so fast in calling this MBA team/defense out. Sure it has been a rough 3 game span. They played maybe the best team in the country first (Trinity Cincinnati powerhouse Elder 56-7 last week), then they played a poor game against BA. Maybe they were still feeling the effects of the Trinity game, I don't know. But against Baylor they came out, played hard, and should have won the game. They looked like the better team. The defense blew two plays, one blown coverage by the new safety (Blackwell is still hurt)with 2 min left to loose the game. This is a talented team with good leadership, and I think they will bounce back against BGA. I won't be able to go to this one, but am looking forward to watching it via webcast.
  9. Which play did it happen on? I never noticed this injury (I blame it on the rock band).
  10. I agree that was the worst showing in the past 10 years of MBA football I have seen. After BA went up 21-0, it seemed the team almost quit. Defensive line/offensive line play has been terrible. It looked like Bars got beat every play when he had to block #60. Every foundation of a team is the lines, and when neither side of the ball can do much the outcome will never be pretty. Worst defensive line I've ever seen out of an MBA team. Kay probably should be a D end, and if they have an able backup they should move him. He's one of the best middle linebackers in Middle Tennessee, but the defensive line needs the most help on the team. There was no push or pressure in the past two games, which screws up every part of a defense. They should also move Robertson inside, and maybe bring a think o-lineman inside to help add some size. The schemes seem ok, but when your d-line and o-line are getting pushed back, it messes up the paths and ability for second level guys or runningbacks/fullbacks to make plays. I sure hope these boys can turn it around against Baylor. If not, they could be looking at a 2-6 record in a few weeks...
  11. Mr. Simonis, I attended a few games, watched a few others online. Aaron is a leader, but not a qb. Maybe in 07 when MBA could run over everyone, he would have been great, but lately they have to be duel threat to win. The boy can't throw, Hall can. It's as simple as that. The main reason the 10' team won all those games were because of Fitz Lassing, and the O-line. It had little to do with 80 passing yards a game. I do not blame him for not wanting to run the ball after those injuries. It is always terrible when a kid goes through something like that. Hopefully we can watch your son on the field next year, quarterback or not.
  12. I know he returned kicks as a sophmore, returning two for touchdowns against Ravenwood alone. He was also used at receiver and running back. I have no idea why is offensive times was limited.
  13. I do not watch enough DII A games to make an intelligent post. But I've heard about the Blance brother's being pretty good, also watched the USJ qb in the all star game. He seemed to be a pretty good quarterback.
