  1. From what I have been hearing about spring practice is Gregg throws a nice, clean ball. Most of the work has been on short, quick routes. Not sure about his ability to throw the deep ball like Ballard. Guess we will just have to wait and see. However, with Gregg at QB, this allows Iezzi to stay at WR and gives us several threats there too. Should be another exciting year for the Devils.
  2. People on the outside looking in will say Greeneville lost a lot too. Which they did. The thing is, we just keep reloading. Several D1 players returning. I am in agreeance with Greenedevil87, the winner of the second Greeneville/Betsy matchup should be in Cookeville.
  3. Heard we were opening up against Knox Powell this year? Anyone have an entire schedule?
  4. I completely agree. IMO, Jones comes with waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too much baggage. If you get sent out of Newport, there's no reason the be in Greeneville. Hope the best for him as he continues at HVA. Baugh burnt too many bridges leaving. He also went 1-9 last year in what is left the old IMAC. Not too impressive. Craney is too young at this point in time. Wouldn't mind seeing him come on as an assistant and gaining more experience. I know Hammonds left too, but there there are some key points to make about that. #1. He came back and has been back. #2. If offered, who wouldn't leave to go work for a family member if asked for one year with the expectation to take over for that said family member when he leaves? Let me remind you, that the family member is a Hall of Famer. Hammonds knows the staff and they know him. Hammonds knows the players and they know him. Hammonds knows the system and what it takes to win championships. He was and is the right choice! Go Devils!
  5. Thanks Mav, great post. Your boys sure were a good team, and gave us a run last year. Wish the brackets were set up we could've seen some of those games in Cookeville.
  6. Gudger will most likely be in the back field, but i could see him being used like a Gareen Shuffler too.
  7. There are definitely some good players ready to step up and make their mark as the next Greene Devil superstars.
  8. I've heard this too. The Stevenson kid that is a freshman may give him a run for his money though. He will remind a lot of Greeneville faithful of a Willie Carmichael. If he can develop over the offseason, may be a good idea to keep Iezzi as a WR threat since the Devils will be losing two to the ACC.
  9. Just read Greeneville's place kicker, CEJ Jones broke the TSSAA state record for most PAT's in a season. Hats off to him and his teammates for the record. I believe he's just a junior and will be returning. Just another weapon for the Devils. Is he getting any looks at the next level? I know he's a pretty decent soccer player too.
  10. Someone may have mentioned this already (I haven't had time to read all the pages after the game), but this game was won in two phases. Strength & conditioning and coaching! Haywood just wore out in the second half. I give credit to the weight room and offseason conditioning programs Greeneville has. Secondly, Greeneville adjusted well. #92 was a beast at fullback!!!! But everything went behind him. If they countered, he came across the line. If the ran a sweep, he went to the outside. If the ran a dive, he was busting up the middle. I get it! Many of a coach will line up and say, here's what I'm running, it's your job to stop it. But if I can figure it out from the stands, Greeneville's coaches will definitely figure it out. Heck, the first time Haywood was forced to punt, #92 was resting n the bench that series. He was a monster! All in all congrats to the Greene Devils! Four in nine years is pretty amazing feat. Also congrats to Haywood on a great season. You gave Greeneville their toughest challenge, especially for a half. (Yes, even more than AC, haha, I couldn't resist. I just hate the season is over.
  11. You have one of those!? You think we can get a Drew Lock one for next Saturday? I really would like to see Pruitt and the Vols go bowling in year 1.
