  1. Solomon will win again. That's my prediction.
  2. WrestlingGod, Cleveland lost in the regular season. Why would they forfeit Region Duals where they have a chance to be number 1 seed at State.
  3. Why would Cleveland forfeit? If Cleveland wins the region wouldn't that place them at the number 1 seed and WC opposite at number 2 seed? Bradley would then be on the same side as WC? Doesn't make sense to me for Cleveland to forfeit.
  4. Really, well then tell me how private schools are still in D1....they follow the quota rule. So, if McCallie or MBA wanted to be in D1 all they would have to do is follow the quota rule.
  5. The private-public split was about not wanting to follow the quota rule. Today we still have private schools competing in D1 and they are following the quota rule and the teams in D2 are there because they didn't want to follow the rules and now they can give unlimited financial aid. So I don't know why everyone keeps acting like it is a true split.
  6. I would agree that the stronger D2 teams would want to be in the largest division but it all comes down to $. The private schools like McCallie, Baylor, MBA and the others don't want restrictions on how much financial aid they are allowed to give so they CHOOSE to be in D2. Whereas you have smaller private schools willing to follow quota rules and choosing to play in D1. So really D2 schools have and option on which division they want to play in.
  7. If I remember correctly the DII schools asked for the split because they didn't want or like the quota rule. We currently have private schools in DI that follow the quota rule. So it is an option for any private school to rejoin the DI schools if they so choose.
  8. Not all D2 schools feel run out because there are still a dozen or so private schools in D1. Putting my people with your people wont work either. I assume your people like mine are wrestling people. So that wouldnt work either. It is my understanding the TSSAA would never allow one sport or even a few sports to reunite D1 and D2. It would have to be all sports and good luck getting football, basketball and baseball agree to reunite. So if you really want D1 and D2 back together then you should be asking for the current D2 schools to petition to join the D1 schools. Then they can be like the private schools that are still in D1. Good luck .
  9. reften, it doesn't matter if region 4 or 5 or any other region want to reunite with D2. The D2 schools are the ones that split. There are still a few private schools(around a dozen or so like Boyd, Lispscomb, Chatt Christian, Notre Dame to name a few) in D1. Tell all the other D2 schools to come back to D1. Then you can raise money for the new venue. Problem solved.
  10. TSSAA better get to training these guys or it's only going to get worse.
  11. Its a shame people who make the decisions don't get input from those who have the knowledge of the history and traditions of wrestling in Tennessee. Why did they change the awards presentation from the end of the tournament to in between matches anyways?
