  1. 2010 Knoxville Summer Lacrosse League The University of Tennessee Men's Lacrosse Club is active in assisting with organizing the Knoxville Summer Lacrosse League. For 2010 the league is continuing the Men's Division which is open to rising 10th graders with no age maximum. The league is also very excited about expanding to include a Future Star's Division which will be for rising 6th-9th graders that have played lacrosse for at least 1 year previously. 2008 was the first year for the league and there were 60 interested players for the first summer. Last summer the league had 84 participants and we are hoping to have over 120 participants in both divisions for 2010. 2. Lots of TN lax alumni having a great season for the 5-1 and #22 ranked University of Tennessee lacrosse program. Tennessee competes in the MCLA (non varsity) national conference. You don't have to go to the northeast to play ncaa quality lacrosse. A varsity quality program is in the state at UT along with the great program coach Waters is building at Sewanee (NCAA Div 3). Check out our roster at http://www.volslax.com. Half the team is from TN and many players that originally left TN for varsity programs transferred to UT for a more balanced college experience. A few examples: John Wilson: Ravenwood - Gettysburg transfer Kevin Coll: Ravenwood - Mount Saint Mary's transfer Mike Kinsey: Ravenwood - Air Force transfer A few of the players that came right to UT: Jack Cleary: Centennial Chris McDonald: Houston John Honan: Houston David Catterton: Brentwood Sam Kachline: McCallie Patrick Stewart (HS AA): MUS David Ruben: MUS Patrick Hudson: Centennial John Porter: Franklin Nathan Xander: Cookeville and many, many others... Additional TN varsity transfers to be mentioned in the next couple months. UT also has other ncaa Div 1-3 transfers not from TN.
