  1. Who said he wasn't a "great man?" I said he wasn't a good coach or leader on the field. You obviously never stood or sit near the parents I have over the years, or talked to many of his former players/parents that went on to play college ball. Its one thing to have a kid or parent grip about not getting playing time, it's another to have four year letter winners and scholarship athletes to look back and say the negative things they say. I stand behind my post.
  2. No idea, but I'm sure who ever they get will be an improvement. Froning has frustrated enough players and parents. If he taught his players anything, it's how NOT to lead and coach a team.
  3. Anderson Co. over HVA 11-1 in 5 innings. I guess me forwarding your postings to AC, Powell, and Halls wasn't needed that much after all.

    OR Vs AC

Pitching was excellent by both Lane and Durand. The difference was a lead-off walk in the top of the 6th by Durand followed by an error and three hits. Outside of that, both threw excellent.
  5. I think you're a 'tard. You come on here registering under 2 or 3 different "HVA" names and spew nothing but hype and lies. You're either a H.S. punk or an andrgen-deprived nut-job. Either way, you're just trash and doing nothing to help the HVA baseball program. Do us all a favor and go back to spewing your garbage on Craigslist where you belong.
  6. OR is 8-7 with Halls scheduled for 5/4.
  7. Oak Ridge beat Central 12-1 in 5 innings on Monday (3-14) before the rain arrived. Lane for Oak Ridge pitched well, as did the Central pitcher (didn't get the name); unfortunately for Central, their defense let them down and allowed too many unearned runs. I believe the box score only gave OR 3 hits; 12 runs on 3 hits tells the story all too well. Game 2 on Wednesday at Central.
  8. Oak Ridge scrimmaged CAK for 4 innings in a steady rain on Tuesday. Both teams only threw one pitcher to get them their reps set for their first REAL start this coming Monday. Oak Ridge threw Jordan Lane, and he did well once again striking out 7. They called the game due to rain with the score 0-0 after 4. You're right, though; pitchers are ahead of the hitters at this point in the year, so I'm not too surprised by all the posts where scores seem lower than usual.
  9. #2 is Williams and #13 is Durand. Wow, they really laid it on Durand; Farragut is just that good. I've seen where UT Freshmen and former Admirals Nick Williams and Ethan Bennett are already contributing to SEC...that program is just on another level from most H.S. programs.
  10. Any scrimmage results in 3AAA? Oak Ridge looked good against Jefferson County last week with all around good pitching, defense, and hitting. OR won 10-8 in 12innings. They scrimmage CAK tonight. Sophomore Jordan Lane was lights-out for first three innings pitching, and he brought a good stick as the lead-off hitter as well. Sophomore Connor Roberts (2 innings) and Freshmen Kevin Steen (1 inning) had zero earned runs as well against a good hitting JC team, so OR pitching looks to be strong over the next two years provided they all stay healthy and continure to develop.
  11. For District 3AAA, you've also have (in addition to Halls)some top notch players from Powell (Sanford and Owenby) and Anderson County (Williams, Durand, and Roberts). I think that's all the D1 prospects in 3AAA based on past performance, but a new season brings new opportunities for others to step up.
  12. If they play to their talent level, they will certainly be dominant in 3 AAA. On an off day, Anderson County might surprise them (and maybe Halls) but outside of that, they should compete with Farragut and Science Hill for top team in East TN.
  13. No Foxworth this year (his Senior year)for Oak Ridge; After his shoulder surgery (torn labrum), he decided to hang it up. Powell will definitely be the top team if they play to their talent level; they proved that by almost beating Farragut in the play-offs.
  14. Oak Ridge could be a sleeper. They lost some big sticks in Monger, Woullard, and Normand, but they are returning almost all of their pitching. They went 4-0 against Clinton last year, so I'd have to put them up in 4 or 5 slot in the district. Their sophomore group is the class to watch; a lot of talent and travel ball pleayers in that group. Jordan Lane was at Thunder showcase in December and was clocked at 86mph, and had a great looking change-up and curve to go with it (went 6-0 as a Frosh). Connor Roberts (3-1 as a Frosh) has put on a lot more size in offseason, and looks to be an up-and-commer as well. Ralph O'Neal, another travel-baller, is a big, strong, and fast sophomore as well, and he should join with Matt Daniels, Elliot Normand, and Printice Young in that class to make a pretty tough 2012 and 2013 team if they all continue to develop.
  15. Hagan Owenby of Powell. He's already 6' tall, and hit the ball a mile. He's tearin' it up in football at the moment, but he's definitely one to watch in baseball as a frosh.
