  1. South Green is Single A. The TSSAA is now classifying vb different than basketball. In Knoxville the big stink is Anderson County got to drop to AA in volleyball only, but stayed AAA in everything else. Knoxville lost ALOT of talent to graduation this past year, and should be wide open. Webb and Anderson County have the most talent, HV should be strong, Farragut without Parker benefits the most with AC dropping down, in that they should finish second behind HV, CAK and Catholic we will have to wait and see. CAK moved to private, Catholic did not, which was odd. I think Webb, HV, Farragut, AC, Sullivan South and South Green will advance to state. Webb, and AC have a chance to win, the AAA schools won't make any noise at state. The Mid State teams wont drop a game in AAA. South Green was strong last year, I don't know about this season.
  2. But Hopi, think of what she could have done with Jay for club and high school. You can't compare the two. I am sure your daughter had "fun" in high school, but I promise you she learned how to play volleyball and was able to play in college because of what she learned in club. High school coaches not associated with a club don't really do much real coaching. This way the players get real coaching in both high school and club!
  3. Why do you attack people that are only concerned about helping children excel at a sport they love? I promise you that the school will help this happen, and you will get to see how volleyball should be played!
  4. I meant wasting four years playing high school at Anderson County when she could have played four years of high school with a coach like Jay Hames. HS is important, that is why Jay is sharing his time at Maryville.
  5. Maryville wants a volleyball program that is an elite program like its football team. If it means Jay is an "unofficial" coach that will work. Hopi, if your daughter had a chance to play for Jay in high school instead of having to waste four years of high school ball at Anderson County wouldn't you have taken it?
  6. All of the transfers are approved including coach's daughter who is better than CM.
  7. Probably an over statement. They are a solid team, but I thought you were joking when you said they could beat either Maryville or Farragut, Of course they could beat Maryville's jv, but you really don't think they could beat either Maryville or Farragut do you? If so, then it will be hard taking you seriously.
  8. Zero chance. Maryville could beat them with their JV, also Farragut is stronger.
  9. K2 is the only reason these schools can compete. If asked to choose they pick K2. Maryville will fight this.
  10. There is zero way any of those schools say a word. They depend on K2 to teach their girls.
  11. Thre is no recruiting. Why should these girls be denied their right to play with their club coach?
  12. If I cared about these players, yes.
  13. The parents who care about this rule, and the schools who care about the students like Maryville, will fight for the athlete. This rule will kill high school sports. People will only choose to play club where they can get real coaching!
  14. Respectfully, every starter at Webb transfered from another school to play for coach Hames. They won multiple state championships. No one said anything. This is going to happen at Maryville. No one at Bearden or the other schools has complained because it is best for the girls. Maryville and Coach will allow anyone good enough to play at Maryville to come. You can't tell me that this doesn't occur with football. Under your reading of this rule what's to stop coach Hames from just running practice and sitting behind the bench to coach?
  15. That is wrong. They have the chance to play for a great coach. Why should they be punished. I think given who these athletes are, and that it is Maryville, an exception will be made.
  16. Maryville will not lose a single set. The signed CM and four others and are now coached by Jay Hames, the best coach in the state.
  17. I can't believe that is correct. Jay runs the entire club, he works with all of the players. These girls only changed schools to play for Jay. This is not a fair rule. Why punish these players for wanting to get better?
  18. I disagree. If they have a valid change of address they are ok. The dad of one of the players bought a condo to have a residence. The Hames own k2 if that rule applied it would affect all club players.
  19. No, she has multiple D1 offers. SJ do you agree that this is the best high school team ever?
  20. No, Jay is the new asst coach and he is bringing the top club players from East Tenn like CM and the Libero from Bearden. They are assembling an elite team to get extra practice before club season.
  21. Obviously not a volleyball fan. This team will start every position as a Division 1 signee with Mc and H playing for Nebraska next season.
  22. Coach Hames has assembled the greatest high school team in Tennessee history at Maryville. They now have the best coach in the state, the two best players to ever play in this state, and a supporting cast of Division 1 signees. They will not lose a set. Football at Maryville just took a back seat to volleyball!
  23. I don't know abou that. The 13 team was not at this tournament, this was a 12 and under tourney, one of the parents was telling me about the 13 team. I will say this they looked great.
  24. I am at the huge southeastern tourney in Atlanta. 80 courts going strong, ACE is Anderson County. Saw their coaches. They have a 12 and under and a 13 team that is made up of the girls from Norris Middle school. Listen to this for something cool. The AC coaches have daughters on the middle school team. They got former AC coach Harshbarger to coach the middle school team, he is the godfather of one of the coaches daughters. They were runner up in the state last year, and return all players. They started ACE for them. The 13s won all 7 tourneys they entered an beat two teams ranked in the top ten nationally. The 12s have won 5 of their 7 tourneys and just destroyed Atlanta Extreme. The coaches are all former college coaches who played at AC, and the total cost for uniforms, 7 tournaments, two practice sessions and one conditioning session for the season is under 500 dollars! The parents are fun, and LOVE this. If you get this level of coaching and play from girls that come from the same middle school for just 500 bucks it is awesome!
  25. Does anyone know anything about a new club called ACE? They had two teams win the Phoneix Rising tourney this weekend and they won the KVA Queen of the Mountain tournament and the big Vanentines Day tournament in Nashville. Are they out of Knoxville?
