  1. Gannett owned newspapers have been a joke for a long time - especially in Memphis and Jackson area. They hire one raw sports reporter who doesn't know jack and does no research. Newspaper sports coverage is dead and these people don't even try.
  2. Germantown. He will be playing against Bartlett.
  3. Bartlett is definitely a sleeper to watch... some key additions have already been added to the mix, including one of the best linebackers in the state in Lance Taylor Jr. Can't wait to see how this offense performs. The defense has some studs. A quick turnaround for the new staff, but if history means anything this could work sooner than later.
  4. New Bartlett HS Football Coach Named Chris Smith named new football coach at Bartlett High School. Bartlett City Schools, along with the administration at Bartlett High School, are thrilled to announce Chris Smith as the new head football coach at Bartlett High School. Coach Smith, with over twelve years of coaching experience at the high school level, has amassed an impressive culture of winning. Coach Smith’s first head coaching job was at Germantown High School where he led that program for four years, with his last two seasons posting a 23-2 record and earning a #1 ranking in the State of Tennessee in 2018. Coach Smith then joined Haywood County High School as head coach where he has coached for the past four seasons, posting a 48-8 record. While at Haywood County, Coach Smith’s team won several District and Regional Championships, making the playoffs each year with four straight semi-final appearances including a state championship game. Coach Smith has established strong player development practices and excellent relationships with college coaches across the country, with over 87 scholarship players and several currently in the NFL, along with a few more players potentially entering the draft. Coach Smith’s overall coaching highlights include going 79-24 in 8 season (71-10 in the last 6 seasons), 6 straight Region Championships, 6 straight Coach of the Year Awards with being selected to coach in the TSSAA 2022 All-Star game, 2017 AutoZone Liberty Bowl game, and the 2015 West TN All-Star Game, two regular season win steaks of 24, youngest National Football Hall of Fame Rex Dockery Award Winner (Memphis Chapter), Henderson State University Reddie Alumni Finalist, 4 undefeated regular seasons, 4 straight semi-finalist appearances with one final in 2020. Under Coach Smith, his teams have averaged over 45ppg, 73 TDs/season, and 4,765 years/season over the past six years. “With the success this program has experienced, I am excited for Bartlett High School’s students, faculty, and community” said Tim Jones, principal at Bartlett High School. “Coach Smith will help us continue the culture that has been built with our student athletes and in our city. He has a winning attitude and will be a wonderful asset to our school and community partners.” Coach Smith inherits a program that has come off another successful season ending with a state semi-final appearance. With state-of-the-art facilities the Bartlett football program continues to thrive and looks forward to building the culture of being one of the premier programs in the state.
  5. Haywood no longer has any open dates
  6. Just want to point out that Smith did go 23-2 his last two seasons at 6A Germantown, including beating nationally ranked Whitehaven twice. So he has been there. As for Haywood, I agree that they are the best team in West Tennessee and should beat everyone like they do, but that job does have challenges you can ask anyone about. Not everyone wins there. I understand he is no longer a candidate and all, but if you would of asked Creasy at Oakland who he didn't want to get the Blackman job, it would probably be him.
  7. Coach Smith is not going to USJ. End of story.
  8. Talking about while at Germantown. Don't read much where you are from I see. You said he left Germantown a tough schedule. That was my response.
  9. Smith inherited the toughest schedule in the state and played one of the toughest schedules every year he was there. That's a ridiculous statement. Hardin County and Oakland make it a ridiculous schedule? They are playing who they can get. Troll on.
  10. Not that I know of. Jamari Person signed with Colorado State - wide receiver.
  11. That poster wasn't me. I assume most have only an opening or two in tough regions and I can't blame them for not wanting to play Haywood.
