That Stidham boy who plays QB for the New England Pats formerly a Auburn Tiger is from Corbin. He finished up in Texas though moving out there after his family bought a car dealership out there

I think Corbin may be a little down from last years team. My Mayfield Cardinals played them in Tennessee last year. Kind of crazy for 2 KY schools to play each other in Tn but we did so at Austin Peay

My take is that the score was much closer than the game, Mayfield was able to get a lead of 38-7 and took the foot of the gas. I predicted a 3 score game on here before the game. This is a pretty good Mayfield team or will be by playoff time if they can avoid injury. Mayfield has played for a state title 9 out of the last 10 years and I think this could turn out to be one of their top 2-4 teams. Last year Lausanne would have been only a slight favorite. unapproved website had Lausanne by 3 and the team that beat us by 7 Max picked to beat Lausanne. Next year Lausanne should be a huge favorite as Mayfield will have the largest rebuilding effort in the last 15 years. Plus Lausanne is young, give those guys another year and they will be pretty darn good. good luck the rest of the way

Was not as close as the score and could have been much worse. I was tailgating in the West end zone before the game and ask some Lausanne fans about their team. One fan said all I needed to know was 38-1. I think its gonna be a tough year for Lausanne but I will give them credit, they knew at half time it was likely over but they maintained good sportsmanship and that is tough when the writing is already on the wall, That said I suspect we are looking at a state title team this year for Mayfield. I stand by my 3 td win and looking at unapproved website I found that they reached a similar conclusion. They have Mayfield winning by 13, on a neutral field. (Mayfield 41 Lausanne 28) The field will be anything but neutral. I have the Cards by 21. Max has Lausanne ranked 2,309 and Mayfield 1,070. I ran 2018 Lausanne against 2018 CAL, the private team that beat us by a TD in last years state title game, and it has CAL 31 Lausanne 26. This shows you that Max rating system is pretty darn accurate. I think it would have them favoring us by my 21 points if it was not the first game of the season. The rankings get better the more games it has to analyze. The stadium is across town from the high school so make sure if your driving up that you are aware of this. Not a lot of restaurants near the stadium, but its only 10 minutes to Paris Road (named after the old road to Paris, TN). Paris Road will have a wide variety of fast food. There is a nice BBQ restaurant on 45 near the stadium and a excellent mom and pop style burgers and more restaurant on W Broadway 5 minutes from the stadium. Both are good and quick. There is also a Dairy Queen on 45 and a second BBQ place a little further out going North on 45

You can get radio streamed over the net at mywymc.com. They will go on air 30 minutes before the kick, maybe earlier since this is the first game of the season.

After reading up on them, I like what I see. I predict the Cards by 3 six pointers with all 3 of the extra kicks after the six pointers. Private schools of this size are actually pretty commonplace for Mayfield. Privates are in the same class with public schools in KY and pretty much dominate in the 2 classes (2A and 4A) that almost everyone of them are in. Other than Mayfield and a couple other publics they win almost all the state titles.

I would expect this one to come down to line play. On offense I don't think we have to necessarily win the line but if our accurate qb has enough time to hit the quick stuff he will make it hard on you and open up the run and deep throws. I would expect this team to score some points. Not really sure how the D does against the Eric Gray replacement that is getting a lot of attention. With Laussane having a new QB its hard to know what to think. Our kicker Im told can place kickoffs in the end zone at will but I have not seen this first hand yet. Last year he did occasionally. This should be a good first game test for us

I agree but seems that playing against our style would be good for UC. Seeing it possibly in the playoffs and having learned where your weakness is against it so you can be prepared. Maybe the game can get brought back sometime. Seems like Mayfield and UC get together for a 2 game series about every 20 years then wait another 20 years and go 2 more years

No one said anyone was scared and "had enough" in this case was not meant to say UC was scared. I would be shocked if they were scared. I was implying I think they decided to play someone they felt they had a better chance of beating and I think that would be a tall tree to climb this coming year. Playing Mayfield the past 2 years was a good learning experience for UC, especially 2 years ago. We showed them a little different offensive approach that they don't see much of locally and it may have helped them in their playoff run they had leading to their state title that year. I am just a arm chair QB but that is my take on it. I might be totally wrong but that is how it looks. Maybe someone from UC has a different take and will chime in. Maybe they will come back to us in 2 years, we are only a few miles apart so it makes sense for them to play more so than a long travel
