  1. It's Head Coach of the JV......What's wrong with being a fan of both? I have family in both programs and am capable of rooting for more than one team at a time. By the immature remarks you're posting, we can all see you need to grow up before you come out and play with the big boys.
  2. I said IMO, you don't like it don't read it. You want some dip for that chip, on your shoulder. All I've seen you do is bounce around posts spouting off with your opinions, but you don't respect anyone else's, well grow up.
  3. As far as your reference to Bernie Young as the "so called AD", HV is lucky to have a man of his caliber. He was probably the best baseball coach HV or Science Hill ever had and HV is lucky to have him back in any capacity. I guarantee he has more experience and knowledge than most AD's and Head Coach's in the entire East Tennessee and West NC area. He is well respected by a lot of people all over the country, not just our little neighborhood. I can also say without a doubt, Bernie did not hire a "yes man". You may not like him and you apparently don't know him, but coach Shively is anything but a "Yes Man". Happy Valley may have lost three good men, but sadly they were only mediocre coach's, and as far as where are the Warrior's when the school needs them, right here's an entire family of alumni, going all the way back from the 1950's to a recent 2010 graduate.
  4. I agree I think it will be a close game, but because of the history between the two, not because HV will be looking over them. I think that is one of the things Shively has the Warriors focused on , Not looking over anyone.
  5. I believe his title is Head Coach, not HV REJECT. What's your title, other than disgruntled fan? I respect anybody that commits themselves and spends their time trying to teach these kids and share their knowledge, no matter what school they went to.
  6. Defensive End is Jeoffrey Pagan, he had one sack and two deflected pass's in last weeks win. I don't know what kind of road record the Asheville Cougars have had, but their home record is pretty impressive at 34-4-1 over the last seven seasons. From what I've read the team that beat them two weeks ago, pretty badly (48-6) I think. Seems a lot like the Cyclones at least on paper. Bearing this in mind IMO, I see Elizabethton 35 Asheville 6.
  7. True, so true. A word to the wise Don't Drink and Post!!
  8. That would be something to see. I do think in the long run, he would have more opportunities come his way at a higher profile school like EHS than at HVHS.
  9. That is so true. By the time these kids are seniors, they should definitely be big time prospects.
  10. Very cool. It's great to see the younger kids getting a chance and making the most of it.
  11. True, I was just impressed that the kid is only 15.
  12. Jaylon Simmons! Did any Warrior fan's see this kid coming. Only a sophomore, but he's got size and speed. I didn't see any mention of him in any of the preseason previews. Was he a hoss in middle school ball? Kudos to coach Shively for giving him a chance to show his stuff. Not all coach's are willing to give a 15 year-old a shot, especially at RB. Congrats to Simmons and keep up the good work.
  13. Any thoughts on the Blue Devils at Happy Valley? IMO HV24, UC10 I've heard there may be a little hurt feelings on behalf of the Devils, since Heath Rutherford switched from UC to HV and has become a big contributor for the Warriors. I have known Heath's dad and uncle all my life and glad to see Heath doing so well at the family's alma mater. Go Warriors.
  14. Facts are correct. i stand behind my statement. one game suspension was still more than they would have recieved a year ago. One thing you are correct about. Both weren't starters last year, but they are this year and I think that is what matters.
  15. Nothing against Scotty, but as a former Warrior, I'm glad to see some new blood. I think Shiveley has the right attitude and he showed me a lot, suspending a couple of his best players in the season opener. I think discipline was one area lacking in Coach Verran's regime. Also, as far as asst coaching departures, the one's that are no longer there, didn't have any choice.
