Hard to get those game changing transfers when you’re losing to OZ by 16&22 or a weak Rockwood and a down Whitwul squad! That solid foundation that was there for both schools already seems like it In shambles for both schools looking from the outside in. Now TC and GB got kids leaving,  What is  the saying?  “Karma is undefeated” ! What did the admins do to TC football? It’s the same ones they had when they were winning!

Coaching wins these games, winning games brings kids in.Hiring youth league coaches who have zero experience will kill a program.Happy with less than mediocre is poison.Yes our foundation IS in shambles. We have enough talent and kids coming up to be successful but we have no leadership.

I hate to see this happening to a once proud program. Always enjoyed playing Trousdale.

Very sad to see!!TC and GB have a few Silver and Gold balls between them.GB 5 total can't remember how many TC has but now we both struggle to 500,and the playoffs.Terrible what the Admins can do to a small ball school.

Going to be hard for either of those teams to come to Coalfield and win. Coalfield will have the best player again with the older Treece kid. If I had to choose the other team right now it would be Greenback to finish second in their Region. Not sure how Oakdale will hold up since stuff from basketball might carry over with them to baseball. Wartburg and Midway could also be sneaky good and give Greenback a tough game to decide who plays Coalfield for the Region championship.

Greenback getting a new coach will probably set them back early.Hopefully with the return of so many very good Srs they may overcome but we have no idea how good this new guy is.The old coach had alot of faith in him,so we will see.

This school has been beaten by 61 as well this year. GP has to play them as they are a district team and while I agree it was a little excessive, it was still going to be bad either way. This is a relatively new school, who shouldn’t even be playing a TSSAA schedule. Is this a home school or just a new private school in Maryville?

They played their first year of Varsity football this year. These teams have no Srs but are trying to get their feet wet in High School sports. They will be competitive before long and some teams know that and are "Welcoming them in".I'm with a few other posters a 50 point win would be sufficient.lol.Let the young kids have a few minutes (or a half).

It was Blair.  We don't know the extent of it yet.  Our bench is loaded with good players.  This isn't last year.  Cland is still gonna get it done

I'm still hovering your posts!Looking for an opportunity to come watch one with you!Hard to do the way I work, but working on it.Maybe a State tournament game. Wish you all would get off that Mtn every now and then.lol

The score in regular season Cf 20-13

Playoffs OS 20-13 ..skin of our teeth for both, 2 great games I personally hate that #27 from coalfield out of it,but curious to see how the defense holds up without #42 and #27...OS o ly lost 3, 2 starters. It will be a great Thursday night rivalry game. But the region will tough

    Rockwood will be good

Harriman only lost 3,they will surprise folks

Greenback,we will see what they bring in

    Oliver Springs will be solid

Coalfield will be good, curious to see if the rumors are true

I am not expecting to be competitive this year.Lost a very good underachieving poorly coached Sr class that accounted for the majority of our yards this year.We have a ton of young outstanding players that got alot of playing time this year BUT if you cannot develop them you won't win with them.We wil have 1 I think Sr if I'm not mistaken maybe 0 but no upperclassmen leadership with a team that has O experience at the HC slot doesn't give me much hope.If they would cut their loses and run this guy off a Good Coach can turn us around overnight!!!But the politics from Loudon County school board officials have no desire for the Loudon High school Redskins to have any competition!Could be a really bad year unless CF and RW take a huge step back.We will see I suppose.Oh and I got the "bring in" reference lol.We won't "Bring anything in" until we have a desirable HC.Good luck to all in theOff season.

Speaking of Vonore… most of y’all wouldn’t believe what transpired in a scrimmage in1970. We took about 25 players and we were putting it on them pretty good. We had a couple of players different from them and it didn’t take long before it was on. Fans coming off the sidelines , Coaches going at it, it lasted about 15 minutes. They called the scrimmage then the best part was in the locker room afterwards when a couple of their players came in where we were dressing.  lol one guy had a pack of lucky strikes rolled up in his sleeves and all were smoking like nothing even happened. Never forget that. Went thru there last week to stop at Benton’s to get some Bacon and noticed the lake has changed that place since then.

Nothing with Vonore would surprise us.lol.We were Bitter rivals at the time.Good story!!Bentons Bacon is something else too.

I sure did! Ha! That’s been over 30 years ago. I vividly recall the whole thing & the whitie tighties showing through. That cleared the whole bench, but one player. Coaches & all were diving in trying to pull guys off. Interestingly, I don’t recall anybody ejected nor anybody missing from the next game. There may have been nothing more than a stern warning & probation or something. I don’t recall anything else happening like that again until now. On the issue of ejections of fans, it seems to happen more in the last decade than ever before in the “old days”. I’m talking the 80s & 90s & prior. Funny thing is these same things were happening back then & rowdy fans yelling out were just as if not more in abundance then. The difference now compared to then was admins & officiating nipped things that needed nipped in the bud & if it was just yelling it went in one ear & out the other to most all involved. Officiators didn’t really react to crowd, players didn’t have a clue what was going on off the court, and those same players were being berated by student sections & hollered at by fans all game long. Players were taught to pay it no mind, if they even heard it. Most games were so packed nobody could really hear much to even know what was being yelled or at who anyways. Games these days are so quiet you can almost hear a pen drop so when that one or two are letting it fly, it stands out loud & clear. Refs are much softer these days in general & Ive seen them eject a mom with a toddler setting on her lap who yelled “Come on”! Just picked her out of a crowd of yells somehow & to this day nobody knows why. They must have heard something & just thought it was her. Made her leave the gym. All the while, completely oblivious to their lack of control on the court, the opposing home crowd’s student section berating & harassing our players, flipping birds across the court at the visiting bench & crowd, etc. Their reaction was all about their feelings. Showed no care for the tension on the court, and everything else going on. How simple to address with an AD they request them to address the fans & warn them to pipe her down while they themselves gain control of the court of play with a warning to both coaches/benches and players to pipe her down or there would be consequences. Just a pause/time out. Basically it’s their job to do just that. The AD takes their cue from officiators. If a ref says, remove them, they (AD or game site manager) by rule are to follow it whether they agree or not. The AD doesn’t need authority from officiators to remove or warn someone, but if told to by officiators to do it that trumps everything. The TSSAA officiators are top dawg. It’s too sad so many aren’t up to the task anymore. That would solve a lot of this stuff from happening. Unfortunately the only action a lot of them do take regarding anything off the court and even on the court is if it ruffles or hurts their feelings which is a big no no.  In this instance, yet again, adults actions & lack of actions led to young non adult players paying the price. Yes, many left the court, with a few going up into the stands. Yes, we can’t have that happening. I do wonder how many average teenage boys, with all the tension building up on the court, would have the reserve to just stand there & watch while their Dad, Grandpa, or other loved one is laid out in the stands with another on top & punches being thrown and a few other adults eventually coming in to either join or attempt to break it up to no avail while no one in authority seems to be coming. No officers, no game administrators, no authority whatsoever. I honestly doubt mine would have. I may be wrong, but I don’t know if I would have if it were my parent or kin. It’s a natural reaction to do something. This all happened so fast too. It’s just sad we expect the youth to react better than adults who are supposed to be in charge. TSSAA really needs to think about this & what their purpose is and get their rules in line, their officiators in line, the ADs in line, the coaches in line, etc. to take action & use some common sense in situations. I mean are the fines a cash cow for TSSAA or do they really hope this is an easy way to deter things? Is it too hard to crack a whip on solid officiating & training in how to de-escalate tension on the court with players/coaches? Same for ADs. Isn’t this one of the most important responsibilities of all involved? Maybe require a non Barney Fife type officer be at the games for assistance. Maybe negligence fines for authorities should rattle some people being paid in these positions to do their job or at least attempt to. This isn’t rocket science. But by all means let’s just keep putting the ultimate punishment on the youth, guilty or innocent. That sure seems to not be working.

Yep and that one player got a good talking to after the game by another player!Rules were different back then compared to now,if you leave the bench now you are automatically suspended.Back then all for one and one for all.Not saying that's the correct thing to do but it's what we or most of us lived by as team mates. That was a basketbrawl this wasn't no where close to that one.just sad that a fan started this one.We were going at it all night with Polk. Then my dad and Frog went to " talk " to the refs for letting it go on.LOL.I remember Coach McCollum looking and me and Thurmer and said LOOK you made me ruin my new pants!!I loved the way he coached tho thats why I wanted my son to play for him.He could coach our kind of ball.As far a discipline,we got a warning if it happened again we would  have no post season in any sport.(if you remember the Vonore football issue in 86 i think it was that's why we got that answer)

Doesn’t matter as Tssaa says once you start somewhere you can’t transfer unless it’s an address change

That's what he means by transfer rules apply Either a Bonafide change of address or set outta year either one

Better go hire Jeff Miner as their defensive coach before one of these other schools do that are assembling staffs right now if their tenture at GCA will be a positive one. Every one of their games at Campbell County looked like Tarzan on offense but Jane on defense. They did keep Campbell County at a respectable level and I'm sure they had plenty of obstacles in their way doing so. I hated they left because I'm sure their program will go back to the dumpster fire because the leaders there will run to K-Mart for a Blue Light Special because that's how the whole county is ran.

    Good hire for Grace!

Allegedly one of the people involved has a history of verbally abusing opposing players. Allegedly.

Also allegedly, a relative of one of the kids being verbally abused did what nobody else would do and told the perpetrator to stop. Allegedly.

There is a real fan problem in high school athletics. Across the Mississippi River, Caruthersville has been banned from district and postseason play because of an incident that took place at a tournament when the team wasn’t even in the building.

Dyersburg has taken an aggressive stance in attempting to control fan behavior. In addition to the TSSAA fine, announcements are made that any fan walked out will pay the fine and face additional disciplinary measures that could include being banned from all campuses.

To me, the most confusing aspect of this is that the fan who caused this was only punished with a two game suspension. Way to make an example out of the person that wrecked an entire season for the team they allegedly care about.

Yep he needs to be banned from ALL school related functions for at least 2 years.

I might have missed it but I never saw anything like this from T$$AA about the Jamestown brawl. Just the one sided recollection of a fan that “bleeds purple and gold”. Do you see anything about that one? Seems it’s died down.

    Not a word

My Christmas wish for all of you is peace, prosperity, happiness, and good health for you and yours!

My solution for you to have all these things is to accept that Jesus was born into this world for the purpose of your salvation, and to pay the penance for your shortcomings. Celebrate the season by spending time with, and giving to those you love but remember that the Sears and Roebuck Wish Book (ask someone older if you don't know) nor 'Ol Saint Nick isn't where Christmas originated.

    Merry Christmas!

If the refs and A.D Would of done there job none of this would've happened.  It would of been prevented in the 3rd period. But after a parent harrasing a kid on the court, a father had enuff. While the police officer and everybody in the gym seen a oakdale parent walk around the gym into the stands. Which should of been prevented, moments later the fight took place.  Too many idiots in one gym

A GB parent was harrasing a Oakdale player?

Ok, so, why did everyone start going over there? I understand if it was too break up the fight, but why did the kids get involved? I'm watching on the phone, maybe a desktop would show me more. Did the kids start swinging too?

It was sent to me this morning.Looks like a mess.
