  1. I know it will be different. Here is one positive. In the past, I would focus on what my son was doing. Now, I can watch the ball. LOL
  2. Wing.......Thank you Sir. I just enjoy football, and I don't get into the BS of name calling or anything like that. It is just good to have public discussion without all that nonsense. I am an old Viking, and my children are now post graduation, no longer playing.............but I still love the game. Looking forward to seeing them play this year, although it will be different as I no longer have a dog in the fight.........so to speak. GO VIKINGS!
  3. By the way, I assume you graduated in 2004 based upon your name. I am an '83 edition myself.
  4. Upcoming Sophomore that lettered Varsity as a Freshman. Big kid, strong and fast. And yes, his first name is "Sir". By the way, this past years Freshman class went undefeated, and they will be a fine supplement to the returning upperclassmen.
  5. Just my three cents worth...........I am looking forward to the season. It will be the first season in a long time that I do not have a child in the game, but I am still a Viking through and through. I am rather pleased that THS new coach is Mike Mays, who has long been the defensive coordinatior for the Vikings. Although 28 Seniors were lost to graduation last year, there is no doubt that Mays teaches the game well enough that THS should at a minimum have a good defense. The offense has plenty of weapons, including upcoming seniors Peyton Henley at QB, and Adam Mitchell at Wide Out, both were 1st team all conference last year and set plenty of records with an in in air assault. In addition, upcoming junior Christian Gibson will be on the other side at wide out, and he earned his stripes last year. Double threat at receiver for the Vikings. Two really good tailbacks also in Jamil Daggs and Sir Scheff. The big question is, will the O Line hold up? Most of them graduated from last year, but a couple of returning starters. Eitherway, it looks to be a good season. I do have a concern about the QB, as he did take an injury last year, and does not (to my knowledge) have a quality back up. Either way, let the games begin. And remember, Defense wins games..........Offense sells tickets. GO VIKINGS!
  6. Region 1 has been moved to Tennessee High School -Fri/Sat
  7. Taylor did not "quit" in the manner that it seems to be coming across on this board. He has battled serious knee problems for quite a while. He is heeding the advice of a medical professional in hopes of causing no more damage to his knee. It certainly has NOTHING to do with his "work ethic."
  8. Congratulations to Powell. It was a hard fought game played by both sides.
  9. LOL.............Hey Photo..............Nice to know we finally agree on something..............LOL
  10. And one last thing. Not to be looking ahead, but in the event that we are fortunate enough to win, I also wish the best of fortunes to Ooltewa. I don't want to have to drive 350 miles to Columbia next week...............LOL.
  11. Just be ready for VIKING NATION to show up LOUD AND PROUD. We may not win the game, but we dang sure have fun supporting our kids. T Minus 5 hours till kickoff. WOO HOO.............GO VIKINGS!
  12. The Big 8 will possibly bring in Cherokee and Tennessee high will play sullivan south, Sullivan east/elizebethton , an Virginie high asnon-conference games
