  1. Well, it wasnt that date. I am hearing Thursday November 14th... My money was on Friday before Thanksgiving and then no one could complain or get in touch with them over the break! LOL
  2. A lot of kids don't get the experience because they never have a chance to get there- they are competing against schools 2X's their size in this stupid classification system we have.
  3. How many more? Not that many.. There are some schools like some of the magnet schools that co-op but that is about it.
  4. No one denied there were 4 team districts- I asked how would anyone know if there was a 3 team district? No districts have been released yet and that was my point. As for going back to 3 classifications- part of the problem is fairness? Do you think it is fair for a school in say AA to have to compete with another school in AA that has 2X's the number of students? Pretty tough to be competitive in a situation like that. They should have gone to 5 classifications like many of the coaches asked for. T$$AA didn't want to make changed to the post season format and now they are feeling the heat for it.
  5. Exactly where did you see this? Are you privy to info that no one else has? If so, do tell us more.
  6. There have been no districts put out yet. How would anyone know if there was a 3 team district?
  7. Just change the way and number of teams that go to the State Tournament. Basketball should be the same as football. Take the top 2 from the district tournament (no matter how many are in the district), play a sub-region game (higher seeds host) and then take the 4 winners in a region (each region would have 4 districts in it since there are 16 districts across the state) to Region tournament. Winner of the region tournament advances to State. State would be the Final Four from 6 classes of schools. The whole reason there are 4 classes is because for years you had schools in classifications playing people with 2xs the enrollment. They tried to fix it and it would have been fixed had they gone to 5 classes instead of mamby-pambying around and going to 4. Alabama state tournament has the blueprint but T$$AA aint looking for the good of the kids- just their pocketbook.
  8. Why? Charter schools are public schools. Same with Magnet Schools- this is public money. Unlike zoned schools they have no zone and depending on how they are run they can't get transfers mid-year or it is difficult to get transfers at all. Not all of these are run the same- so please don't lump them together. How many Prep/Charter or Magnet Schools are winning state titles?
  9. Wilson Central got a good hire... Love that guy!
  10. What looks to be in the works? How Coaches are treated? Hired and Fired? Please explain this.
  11. I assume you mean Dirk? Not his cousin? John Ash wasn't a basketball coach, was he? I remember that he was HC at Brentwood in football for 4-5 years a long time ago.
  12. Is it just me or does Carthage have a revolving door on Coaches? Seems they go through them pretty quick.
  13. Hmm... the new coach should take stock in the manner in which Coach Sanders was let go. They treated a 1st class Coach Sanders that way? What are they gonna do if the new guy isn't up to snuff?
  14. Goodpasture is a good basketball team! They recruit well and like it or not Adam Sonn can coach with ANYONE in the state. Not a Sonn fan but that guy deserves props for what he has done at Goodpasture.
  15. Why weak? Because high school athletics cycles? Teams that have been good for so long have finally dipped? Oak Ridge for example? Bearden? Come on- everyone is gonna have a down year at some time.
