  1. Great field this year the last 3 state champs all there, should be fun. Possibly the best tournament in a long time.
  2. Those are some good choices. Chase can dominate or disappear but when dialed in he will strike alot. Wes has improved, I think its more mental for him and Bumbalough is a good darkhorse and once again I think the mentally toughest will come out on top.
  3. Who are the favorites for the 2012 boys singles other than Aaron Ruiz and Casey Pope? Does anyone else have a chance?
  4. Oh yea, David Carpenter, he must have been good in his day. However, I think I saw him bowling in the Tusculum no tap tournaments last year. He never seemed to bowl that well in those. I would say his honor scores must have been on the easiest house shots ever!! And that kid aaron, he would have wiped the floor with Mr.Betts as soon as they put out the sport shot. Oh well, there are probably 50 or more bowlers that have been better than Carpenter in the last 5 years, but everyone has an opinion.
  5. Well, it was fun to watch the state bowling last week and congrats to all the finalists. I was not surprised at all to see Aaron Ruiz win the D1 and Casey Pope the D2. Both of these kids know how to play sport patterns and it was evident that not many did. Qualifying on the house shot is rediculous since it shows you really dont need to know about lane play to score on such. The cream rose to the top and until bowlers in the rest of the state get out and challenge themselves on tougher conditions the kings of high school bowling will reside in Mid. tn for the coming years. I suggest that bowlers in mid and west tn check out ssjba.org and bowl a few of these events to improve their skills. Lets see, next yr predictions for boys state.... Aaron Ruiz and Casey Pope.
  6. thats a good list with the exception of aaron ruiz, freshman from nashville. i will be shocked if brandon barnes doesnt win it, but i would say aaron will give him a run for his money. justin miller is strong and chase smith led the state in average. gonna be fun to watch.
