  1. I agree with playerscoach, FCS, NCS, are the top two in the division, DCA, and then DA closely behind. After them, it will be a toss up. MTCS, King's, MJCA, Jackson Christian, CA are all teams that can compete with each other and battle for third and fourth place in their districts. NCS has to be the favorite to win the championship. This division will be much more competitive now without Webb, BGA, FRA, Lausanne, etc.
  2. NCS and FCS will dominate this league. MTCS, DCA, CA, DA, along with a couple others will be in the thick of things, but the championship games should involve those two schools until some of the others progress a little more.
  3. Saw a couple metro coaches at a middle school 7v7 practice talking to parents just yesterday.....on a private school campus. Private schools are not the only ones out there seeking out athletes. It is a brutal 'business'.
  4. 2009 Red Bank Lions. 12-1, lost to Greenville in the quarter finals 14-13 on a blocked extra point with less than a minute to go. The lions were ranked #1 in the state 4A for most of the season. Great defense and a powerful offense. Greenville slowed their offense down and went on and lost to Giles County and Bo Wallace in the championship. Red Bank was led by Keon Williams, Keith Mayes, Kelvin Clay, Deres Benn, and Andy Christopher.
  5. Davidson will be right there in the mix as well. Should be interesting how it all falls into place.
  6. It would surprise me as well......just something I had heard. They would dominate the single A if they stay in it. NCS, Friendship, and DCA would be the top three I would think. Don't know much about the west single A teams.
  7. MSU85, I heard NCS was going to play up in AA. Not familiar with Bishop....can't find a football schedule for them.
  8. Curious to see how they set the districts/regions in the A and AA divisions. In A, with 15 teams, will they have 2 or 3 regions. If 3 regions - East - Chatt Grace, Concord, Kings, Friendship, MTCS......Middle - Ezell, MJCA, DCA, Zion, Davidson...... West - Jackson, Tipton Rosemark, Memphis Catholic, Rossville, Fayette Aca. The next question is how will they do the playoffs....how many teams will go....4 teams like they do now. Lots of questions to be answered.
  9. Tyrus Ward. Should not be a question of who the next coach should be, but if they can pull him away of Whites Creek. Is he willing to come back to Chattanooga after a great first year at WC winning coach of the year for his district in Nashville? Not sure, but that is where Howard needs to start the process. They should not interview another coach, unless he turns it down. Offer him the job and hope he is willing to leave Nashville.
  10. Another name that needs to be thrown out for the job would be Tyrus Ward. He has begun the process of turning around Whites Creek in Nashville after one year, being honored as coach of the year for his district. It's a shame he had to leave the Chattanooga area to get the respect he deserves as a coach, but that is the nature of the business. Not sure if he would want to come back to the area after just a year away, but if Central admin were smart, they would have already contacted him.
  11. I would think that any school over 400 students should be in the larger division, especially if there is only two divisions. The smaller schools would never be able to compete with CPA, Notre Dame, Knox Webb, CAK, etc. That is why I think TSSAA will move to three classifications. Just my opinion though. It does make more sense for travel purposes to stay with two.
  12. Yes, CPA would fit in there as well, I overlooked them. They would have a 419 student enrollment as well based off what is listed with the multiplier. There may be a couple more schools not listed by mistake.
  13. Here is a suggested classification breakdown with three classes when all or most privates go to D2. It is all based on enrollment from the tssaa website. Top four go to the playoffs. Thoughts?? Division 2 – Class AAA West 1. St. Benedict-891 2. Christian Brothers - 867 3. Briacrest-568 4 MBA- 510 5. Brentwood Academy- 489 6. Ensworth-462 7. MUS - 446 8. Lipscomb - 509 East 1. 14. Ezell-Harding just finished up a 4000 sft weights and fitness center on campus. It is equipped with five double racks, two jammers, two leg presses, three lat pull machines, a leg extension machine, a multi-use cable machine, four glute hams, dumb bells, and plates. Thanks to all the administration, coaches, and especially the donors that made it happen. All EH athletes will benefit from this facility.
  15. Ezell-Harding Christian School is looking for a week 3 and 4 game. EH was 1-9 this year with a 24 man roster. Looking for anyone with similar programs. Distance is not a concern. Please send email to kcampbell@ezellharding.com if interested.
