  3. Showtime Baseball of TN will change our name to Showcase Baseball of TN effective August 1, 2018. We have had requests to add as many as 10+ teams this year to our 17 currently playing. Tryouts will be held in late July early August based on age group. Details will be out in June. In April 2018, Showtime Baseball of TN’s board of directors voted, and approved, to change the name of the organization from Showtime Baseball of TN to Showcase Baseball of TN. As we embark upon the upcoming season, starting August 1 of 2018, we will now be called Showcase Baseball. We felt a name change was timely in the evolution of our organization as we are now approaching our fifth (5th) year as a stand-alone non-profit baseball organization, one of only a few non-profit travel baseball organizations in the State. We feel we are unique and missionally are attempting to build the best, and most trusted, baseball program in Tennessee. We have made great strides in growing a strong organization, building a reputable image in our communities, and have seen year-over-year growth in our baseball family. In this current baseball season, we have 17 teams, ranging in age from 9 to 17, and have expanded our reach to players and teams which span across the southern and northern part of Middle TN. Our aim is to continue to expand our footprint and grow this thriving and well-lead baseball program to impact more youth and young men through the game of baseball. As many know, our baseball program spawned out of an initial partnership with Showtime Sports Academy. As we have grown, our needs to expand our partnerships to support our program have equally grown. From training, facilities, practice fields, and access to best-in-class coaches and trainers, we made the strategic decision to form a partnership with Area 615 in Franklin. We have already seen, in our first season with Area 615, that the decision was the right one for our program. We now have more facility access, more indoor field space (nearly 70,000 square feet), and greater access to professional and collegiate players that share our passion for working with all our age groups to help them learn about the game and improve their life-skills. It’s been a ‘W’ in our book. The driver behind the change is to better clarify in the market our distinction from Showtime Sports Academy. To build a unique organization we felt it was important to revamp our name, modestly enough, so we are seen in our communities as a stand-alone program from any other organization. Moreover, our goal with this change is to bring a new name to the baseball community in Middle TN and drive new energy into our mission of creating “the most trusted baseball program” in Tennessee. We also wanted to be mindful, as we discussed what to change to, to maintain as many elements of our brand as we could as we have worked hard over the years to build this special program. Our abbreviated name, SBT, and all apparel reflecting this will remain intact and viable. Additionally, we will maintain our color schemes so that much of the apparel already out there is usable in support of the program. We are as excited as ever about the future of our baseball program, are already planning for the next season, and look forward to partnering with all our SBT Family to continue growing this great organization…to strengthen and equip our youth through this awesome game. Thanks for trusting us with your boys!Randy Griggs President Showtime Baseball of Tennessee 972-657-0965 randy.griggs@showtimebaseballtn.org
