  1. Trousdale with 8 state championships (1922, 1972, 1990, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2005 and 2008) only a few other teams can claim more state football titles in Tennessee than Trousdale county. The championship teams in 1990, 1997, 2005 and 2008 all went undefeated. The fact that they have made the playoffs every year since 1988 is just another testament to the program's consistency. Since 1990 the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets have either won the championship in 1A or lost to the eventual champion 18 out of the 21 seasons. The 1997 undefeated championship team should be considered one of the best teams in Tennessee high school football history. That team still holds the record for points scored in a season with 733 points through 15 games. The biggest stat from that season is the fact that they outscored their opponents 733-63. That means that over the course of the season they only allowed an average of 4 points a game while scoring nearly 50 points a game! The 1997 Trousdale County Yellow Jackets capped off a great season with a 45-0 win in the state championship against Clarksville Academy. You cannot have a great program without great coaching and the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets have had some of the best coaches throughout the years. The Satterfield family has become synonymous with coaching in middle Tennessee. Clint Satterfield will likely be remembered as one of the greatest coaches in 1A and Tennessee high school football in general. In 24 years of coaching at Trousdale County coach Clint Satterfield amassed 260 wins and 5 1A Tennessee football championships.
  2. I think Upperman was 5-5 at years end. much improved but still weak. Heard Dekalb , Cookeville and Livingston were winning though. Again ,I live in Silver Point, from Sumner Co......just a guy that likes Football.
  3. looks like I know more than some of you give me credit for.You got to play big time teams before you become a big time team. But, still great season.
  4. Let me give a pat on the back to a player I seen twice this year, and was very impressed with. QB Conner York for Upperman. With average talent around him,he was a big suprise. Could be a candidate for mr football Back in @ a next year as a junior. This year he had 1680 passing with 17 td and 5 int's. He also ran for 680 yards and 8 td's. Not many Sophomores but up 2340 yards and 25 td's in a season, specially on a very average team.
  5. just because you walk around with Smith county powerhouse blinders doesnt make you correct. Fact is not another top seed in playoffs is worried about there first round game like Smith is. Tell me this, if you had played TC or Signal mnt. and won say by 2 scores, would you be worried about a 5-5 team that is a little athletic? No, but you didnt so now there is the unknow factor about how good you really are. There should be no doubt about a first or second round playoff game now that there is 6 classes and waterdown like it is if your 10-0. I stick to my statement that we will all see if the weak schedule come back to bite Smith.
  6. You dont have to scout 2 years out to know white county and warren county suck. THEY DO EVERY YEAR! Macon, Livingston, White House and Dekalb might all be history after the first round. So this leaves your one truely tough game against a 1a school Gordonsville. Trousdale is right down the road....play them. Look at Trousdale playing Warren Central in KY 6a, Signal Mountain playing Blackman 6a, Alcoa playing the 6a state champion Maryville. You cant sit here and tell me Smith knowing tired to schedule a tough schedule outside there already weak ( we know they cant help this) district. You are the silly looking one. There lack of a gold ball shows somehtingis not getting the playoff ready with all the 10-0, 9-1, or 8-2 teams they have had that stumbled in the playoffs. They struggled even in the first round of playoffs verse east Lit. Does TC or Alcoa ever struggle in the first round? Get real.
  7. Now we see how the week schedule for SC plays out. What other number one rated team in the state is even thinking its gonna be a close ball game other than SC. I venture to say most first round games by top ranked teams in the quadrant will be 3-4 td victories. Why are even the SC fans calling for vitory by 6 or 8....I think they know how truley week there district is and also how week there non confrence schedule is. Yes SC is good team to be 10-0 no doubt, but we will have to wait and see if rather a 8-2 record with some games against TC or say Signal Mt. would have been better served than playing Sparta and Warren County.
  8. I see alot of people bashing TC and Macon on alot of post here and on the Smith page. Am I mistaken or had not both of there coaches won a state title? Something i doubt will ever happen at Smith or Dekalb or at least in near future. Macon might not have the right kids in there " system " now, but its not because Pemberton cant coach. I think Creasey's 43-3 record says enough. also on the updted stats.....2 area qb's on the middle TN leader board: Name School G COMP ATT % YDS TD INT Connor York Upperman 7 81 150 0.540 1110 10 3 Lucas Phillips DeKalb Co. 7 70 128 0.547 911 11 4
  9. I base this seeing TC play Macon and SC play Macon. Equal opponents. SC does have simular sppeds in backs, but not in the backers or line. Livingstone has one really fast running back but not multiple speedster like Smith or TC. Number 12 TC and 8 smith about equal. Harper and Maning are diffrent backs but simular production. Number 4 for TC at fullback for TC is a beast and very fast for his size. Dline and backers speen goes to TC.
  10. Going on my gut, Dekalb wins 35-31. Macon deffense is horrible and lack of speed gets them the loss. I do think the qb is Macon is the best qb in the upper cumblerland by far though. Dekalb and livingston qb tied for second. The kid from Smith is a lil over rated and his wr's dont help him much either with drops.
  11. Team speed is the biggest edge I give TC over any team I have seen. There just the best team at all around. Smith would be second,Livingston third and Dekalb and Macon right beind them. Livingston lacks team speed and a power running game. Macon and Dekalb lack good D. Smith has trouble and corner and reveiers dont catch very well. And yes I do think York at qb as much more upaide. Specially if playing around all the tallent Smith has. I was very impressed again with Smith's offensive line. Very big and strong.
  12. My take on second time I seen Smith. Good offense. Good Line and good skill positions. Good deffense. Good d-line and good guys behind them. Only 3 players could get on the field from Upperman is playing for Smith 21 wr Hydenski, 15 DE Sauceman, ( and yes I am saying it) qb York. Never gonna compete when the 22 best players on the field is slanted tward Smith 18-3. But now I turn the table. Smith is very good at everything, except field goals, but not great at anything. I say to be the Alcoa's of the world, you have to be good at everything and great at a couple things for the gold ball to be a possibility. One more thing, I put my house on a bet the Manning kid is not 5'11 or a true 4.4. By all accounts, number 8 for SC was the best, and fastest kid on the field and he is no 4.4. Played with Tyrone Calico at mtsu who combined 4.49 at NFL....and there is no comparison. But hey, pretty good for a sophomore. I still say Trousdale is the best team I have seen in person 3-a and under so far this year.
  13. Upperman High School is forming a team. With the strong fishing tradition in the Cookeville area with Dale Hollow, Center Hill, and Cordell Hull Lakes, should be a good strong program in a few years.
  14. Have to admit, Trousdale looks strong tonight. Threw 3 quaters, Freindship with 64 total yards. And they say this is a down couple years for TC. Will get real interesting if the do indeed choose to move up and play 3a ball.
