  1. South has played better than expected the first 2 games. How will the fair traveling to Rutledge to take on the Grainger Grizzlies. What is everyone's score predictions.
  2. The Rebels systematically destroyed Volunteer in every aspect of the game. How will they fair against Grainger
  3. The colors and mascot are usually named by the first senior when schools are combined. I would assume it would be called a sullivan West
  4. I was going to south when haynie became the head coach. I know some wanted hilton to be the Head coach
  5. Me too. The unique thing about south is the head coach has almost always been handed off to the assistant head coach.
  6. Offical: Justin Hilton will be the next head coach at Sullivan South haynie will stay on as the line coach http://tricitiessports.com/justin-hilton-elevated-to-head-coach-at-sullivan-south-p81941-1.htm
  7. Sam Haynie resigned after 7 years as the head
  8. If they could get abindgon's Reed that would be awesome.
  9. My guess would be Hilton. But i would love for Garvin the head for colonial heights but he can't he isnt a teacher
  10. At the East game there was as many players on the sideline not dressed out because of injury then dressed out. It destroyed any chance of them being even competitive with most teams when it is mostly 2nd string sopohmores starting
  11. South's offense is like Tennessee's... it is one dimensional.. run, run, run, punt... but without all the wasted WR talent like Tennessee has. Plus the starting QB is looking like he might be out for the game due to injury and the back up freshman QB will play
  12. Looks like south qb broke his leg against central last night, they will need to find a replacement soon, played their freshman qb all second half. Greeneville big
  13. How will this Border Battle rivalry play out? Who wins? My prediction:Sullivan South 35 Gate City 7
  14. Sir Shuff was impressive, south finally started opening up the offense with some passing, will still be 8-2 or 7-3 this season
  15. First to score will lose like the past 5 years or so
  16. If South manage to pull this one off you could be looking at a 8-2 or 9-1 season because with the exception of greeneville and yhey could still beat everyone on their schedule. I am not confident after watching the Boone game about this one
  17. I would think they would put it closer to Kingsport then right near central considering most of the students are from south and northThey should call it Sullivan West.
  18. How does this one play out who will win. The start to football season is less then a week away. Lets start with this backyard brawl (not literally Daniel Boone fans) between the power schools of Sullivan and Washington county. Anyone have any predictions?
  19. This is the conference with: Greeneville Sullivan South Sullivan East Sullivan Central Volunteer Cherokee Grainger Seymour Who is playing who?
  20. Kingsport Times News Article Big front leads Rebels football into new era July 30th, 2015 9:45 pm by PAT KENNEY KINGSPORT — In 2014, the Sullivan South Rebels were loaded with skilled position players and hoping an inexperienced offensive line would grow up in a hurry. The tables have turned in a big way this season for South. “Last year, we had 14 players score points for us,†said Rebels coach Sam Haynie at the South football media day. “Thirteen of those guys were seniors. “This time around we have an experienced line and have to hope they can carry us until the skill players can get up to speed.†The Rebs' experience up front includes Tanner Duncan, Cade East, Josh Bewley, Carter Trinkle, Andrew Kern and Austin Boggs. South fans need not despair, Haynie and his staff are optimistic about the upcoming season. “We’ve got a bunch of good kids who understand the winning tradition here at South,†said Haynie. “They’ve all played a ton of football for us, but now they are getting their first opportunity to play full time on the varsity. “They are all working very hard in practice,†added Haynie. With the TSSAA realignment, South finds itself in a new league that includes Cherokee, Seymour, Sullivan Central, Greeneville, Sullivan East, Grainger and Volunteer. The Rebels' non-conference schedule includes long-time rivals Daniel Boone, Tennessee High and Gate City. “With the exception of Seymour and Grainger, we’ve played all of these teams pretty regularly,†said Haynie. “The schedule is exciting and we’re fired up about it.†Another big change for the Rebels will be at the quarterback position. After years of maturity at that position, South will be led this year by sophomore Ethan Ward. “We’ve joked that for years our quarterbacks drove themselves to practice,†said Haynie. “Now our quarterback is dropped off by his mother. “Ethan has a big learning curve but is athletic and very talented,†added Haynie. “He’s possibly as intelligent a player as I’ve ever coached. He really gets it.†With Ward at the helm, the Rebels will see some modest change in their offensive scheme. “We’ll still run some of our same stuff,†said Haynie. “But we’ll be more of a pound-the-ball type of offense.†Haynie’s big concern for the Rebels is depth. “We’ll be asking guys who only went one way last season to play on both sides of the ball this year," he said. “We need to stay healthy and not have to go too deep on the depth chart." A big plus for South is a senior class that has won 21 games over the past two seasons. “We’re not naive about our weaknesses,†said Haynie. “But we have a tradition of winning here and that’s really big. We’ll just keep playing and building.†Starting his sixth year as head coach at South, Haynie knows what’s important. “This business is about relationships. The winning is what we all want, but in the end you’re watching kids grow and you’re motivating them to battle through adversity," he said. “When they do that it’s a teaching moment and that’s what it’s all about.†I don't know what to expect from this team
