Sorry Coach Hamblin for stealing your thunder! Logan is a workhorse and I'm so proud of the young man you've helped him become in the room and out of the room. His parents and family are top notch people too. Happy to see another D1 wrestling commit from small school TN! I had him on my duals team this summer, but couldn't get him to switch schools! LOL
He is what they say he is, a Monster Truck!
It’s all good. Hoping the best for him at that level. He’s a great kid.

Logan Heckert of Sycamore took first at 170 at the GA super 32 qualifier. Probably won't be in NC unless he wants to wrestle.
Cooper Hilton took first at 120 so probably won't in in NC unless he also just wants to wrestle.
Caleb Gumlick of Lakeway took fourth at 132.
Mason Jakob of DB took first at 113.
Spencer Reep of Lakeway took fourth at 126.
Congrats to Lakeway for simply taking 12 kids.
Logan went to Georgia to get mat time.
Unless Logan is sick or hurt he will be at the super32 and he will be at 170. I will add he didn’t surrender a single point while going undefeated. He spent a total of 20 seconds in the bottom position the entire day.- 1

Half of these kids have been going to wilson central fight nights all summer and the other half have been going to camps and competing across the country. These guys are so committed to this sport and it’s an honor just to sit and the corner and watch them do their thing.
Thanks for doing it Biff.

There is 0 way to enforce that. None. Nunca. Nada.
You're telling people they should prioritize TNUSA Wrestling over their own bills and daily expenses because they entered a "verbal contract". That's horsecrap. Hot, steamy, smelly horsecrap. Things change. Life happens. Not everybody is as well off as others. And some people agree to some things when money is good and life is ok and have to change plans when life gets tough.
Maybe its just me, idk, but I could give two craps about TNUSA Wrestling's feelings when it comes to keeping food on the table. Sorry, not sorry.
Do you know for sure that is the reason people backed out? Just sayin.

I spoke to an assistant Principal from Creek Wood high school yesterday. He mentioned an opening for a head coach for their wrestling program. They have a couple middle school feeders. They also have a nice wrestling building. Good luck to coach Murphy on his future endeavors.

It is awesome! Nickajack, chickamauga, and Guntersville right down the road. Each full of grass and bass.
Young Rocky is a prolific bass fisherman.
Won a few titles while in high school. Could be a motivator.- 3

Asking for a friend, is being a faculty member on staff a requirement?

Eason defeated Little in the semi-finals of the FR tournament and Gobbell defeated Goeble in the finals of the FR tournament so they were down in early January. I assume that the coaches felt that they were not deserving of the Dream Team Award
I do not know.

Thank you for the clarification! That explains the situation with the Father Ryan wrestlers because everyone knows that Pat Simpson typically wrestles his kids up most of the season and then they cut down at the end of the year. That would explain Eason and Gobbell not making the team due to not wrestling 50% of their matches at the lower weight classification.
It would be nice if there was some type of established criteria that was written down and followed. Other than head to head competition and the understanding that 50% of the matches must be wrestled at the lower weight are there any other guidelines?
To clarify,
There were 2 instances where I remember this being the case. Nothing like 50%. It was more a matter of a kid wrestling a weight the majority of the season and then dropping for post season.
-
The state duals was Feb. 5.
The dream team meeting was the following day Feb. 6.
The process goes like this. Coaches put their wrestlers name on the dry erase board at the weight class their kid wrestled during the season. If their kid had dropped he has to be put at the weight he wrestled the majority of the season. Each coach has a chance to speak on behalf of their wrestler. A vote is then taken. If there is more than 2 wrestlers a process of elimination takes place based on the vote totals, often times resulting in a second or third vote. Some times there is a tie. It has nothing to do with popularity and sometimes the person making the dream team places lower at the state tournament than someone who lost the vote. It was explained to me the idea was to put together a team based on regular season and not post season. Any head to head after the meeting is irrelevant.

Seriously you are going to give just a small space to Chattanooga area, but yet the ENTIRE area of middle TN to them? LOL. Again lets do middle vs East, instead of Chattanooga vs middle TN. I mean Coffee County is closer by about 4 miles to downtown Chatt compared to downtown Nashville. Davidson county, rutherford and williamson are a huge population. Davidson has more population compared to hamilton and bradley combined, heck actually about the same as hamilton and knox combined. Right now you are combining like Davidson, Rutherford, Williamson AND Montgomery LOL. I say instead we do East/middle/West and all divisions combined and see what happens, I mean it is about as fair as above. If you have the time to do that I would be interested to see those numbers.

Based on what? Since you don’t vote based on popularity, who would you have voted for in 1A and 2AA
I know that wasn’t directed at me but I’m going to respond just the same.
D1A had 2 undefeated wrestlers squaring off at 160 in the finals. Over 100 seasonal wins between them. One wins the match 14-0 over the other. In fact nobody scored a single point on him the entire tournament. I would call that dominant. Yes I voted for my wrestler. That being said, hats off to Mr. Cannedy for a great career and the Greenville program for such a dominant performance overall.

weigh-ins happening right now. 2 guys have been scratched already for something, including #2 ranked former state champion and 3x finalist Josh Parton, 160 from PF. As well as Sycamore 113 Preston Castleberry.
Castleberry concussion at practice. Sad for him as he is a senior

Mike Organ (The Tennessean) would be a great starting point. He should be able to provide you with past All-NIL, All-Nashville, All City, All Mid-State, etc… that used to be published in the newspaper. P.A. Bowler may be able to help you with the more recent selections.
Try Frank Simpson

The growth of the Nolensville is remarkable in that area of Williamson County. There will be a lot of kids in their feeder program soon.
What is the make up of the Knights roster? When Ryan wrestled them at Nolensville the final score was 72-9 (and the Ryan 145 state finalist did not wrestle, which would have more than likely been 6 more).
Did they have guys out or are now healthy and peaking at the right time?
Should be a fun day at the cow palace this weekend!
Best of luck to all of the teams on the Mat!
Josh Peck did a great job getting that program started as well as their youth program. They have a lot of young kids.

Help me out here. You say these are the best kids from across the state. Was there an all call out to wrestlers to put their name in the hat to be drawn out or challenge for a spot on these two teams? I’m not trying to be a smart azz about it but I don’t remember seeing it. There was only one girls match and it seems we missed a couple weights in the boys match.
