  1. Blaming the outcome on everyone but himself? Not a great move by Clark. As the great Bear Bryant once said "If anything goes great, you did it. If anything goes semi-good, we did it. If anything goes bad, I did it. That's all it takes to get people to win football games for you."
  2. Powell IMO is the 5A favorite, but Lenoir City are some giant killers. I see it being a good game, but in the end, LC's surprise run comes to an end. Another thing. Dyshawn Mobley from Powell is an absolute freak. He is tearing defenses apart like he has been for the past few seasons. I don't understand why, to the best of my knowledge, UT isn't showing any interest. Wouldn't surprise me if he went somewhere else and was a wild success. Randall Cobb all over again. I mean UT is interested in Cody Blanc from Central..What can he do that Mobley can't? I'm no Powell fan, but the guy is sick. Well, that was my little rant on that. Powell - 38 Lenoir - 17
  3. That's true. Last year they had a great playoff run before losing to eventual state champion Columbia Central in a close one. But I've seen a lot of Mo West and I know that they will bring their A-Game, especially at home. Knox West will have to be able to open up their playbook a little by passing effectively, especially since the Trojan pass defense has been exposed by several teams this year, most notably Sevier County. But like I said I'm sticking with the Rebels on this one.
  4. Sevier County is an extremely talented team that is well-coached, has an explosive passing attack, efficient running game, and a very underrated defense overshadowed by the high power offense. With that being said, I think the Maryville machine keeps rolling. Simply too much for Sevier County to contain. If they stack the box, they'll get picked apart through the air. If they zone in on the pass, they'll get scorched on the ground. Maryville is simply too good to be challenged by any 6A team around here. Normally high-powered offenses like Webb, Alcoa, etc. have been nonfactors against this elite squad. If Sevier County wants to stand a chance, they'll have to jump out early and surprise Maryville, which I don't see happening. One thing's for sure. Maryville is no DB. If Sevier comes out like they did against DB this Friday, they'll be down 40 at halftime. Rebels - 38 Bears - 13 Good luck to both teams.
  5. THAT would be a matchup I would LOVE to see. If both teams take care of business, I think I'll be making the short trip to Maryville to watch these two heavyweights go at it. Let's hope for a win for both of these in Round 3, because this is the matchup I've been wanting to see all year. Good luck to both teams.
  6. I think that Knox West wins, close. Both are run-oriented, but Mo West can pass when necessary, but I'm not sure about Knox West's passing game. Jeremiah Gregg #1 for Mo West is a special and dynamic receiver who can make plays in space and could cause some trouble in the Rebels secondary. IMO he is the best receiver in the IMAC. Have not seen Knox West play in an actual game, but I have seen them in scrimmages/passing leagues and there's no doubt they have some gifted athletes at their disposal. Also impressed with their body of work, schedule wise. Obviously Knox has an outstanding kicker who I think will be the ultimate difference maker in the game. Knox West - 27 Mo West - 24 Knox West hits long game-winning FG Of course, there's an extremely high chance I'm wrong, but that's just my call.
