  1. Sportsfan I love how you can predict so early which part of Tennessee the champions are going to come out of. Bottom line is your a joke period. Cloudland and Greenefield can match up with Jackson or Clarkrange any day of the week you can bank on that.
  2. I agree whole heartedly but I cant see Jackson going out early. You can bank on Clay and Clarkrange playing for that 2 spot.
  3. Jackson has to be bumped just for the fact they have lost 2 out of their last 3 game if I am not mistaken. Even though it was to quality opponents who are very dang good that's just the way it works. I will give them credit where credit is due,They play in one of the toughest districts in Tennessee,Plus they play a brutal non conference schedule which IMO has them battle tested for when they get to Murfreesboro. there is legitly 4 to 5 teams in this state that are pretty much my favorites for shoe-ins to go to Murfreesboro. 1.Lake County-Has the Flowers girl back with a very strong supporting cast,The only thing that worrys me is if they can knock down outside shots. 2.Cloudland-To much size and scoring ability on the inside and outside to matchup with not to mention their Substate game will more than likely be a cake walk. 3.Jackson County-Their early schedule of competition will have them ready for anybody that crosses their path. 4.Clay County or Clarkrange-Both teams are loaded from top to bottom unfortunately there can be only 2 teams advance and Jackson will be one of them. 5.Cosby-They are the best team out of district 2 their biggest test will be in the regional semis if they can get past that game you can pencil them in because the top 3 in district 1 are much better than anyone in that other region or district.
  4. Moore County,Clay County and Cloudland are loaded.
  5. I know very catchy Between the post play of Rhodes and Wilson and the sharp shooting of the Clarke girl I see Hampton having alot of problems guarding Cloudland. However when Dorthy shoots the ball well and the post players are rebounding and getting scrap points along with the other guards getting a few buckets here and there they are very tough. But I think the key is if Cloudland jumps out on Hampton early then it's pretty much a done deal,But if Hampton can contain Cloudland and force them to take bad shots and not let them have 2nd chances on offense then I think this could be a good series both home and away but I will throw a prediction out there just for the heck of it. Cloudland-65 Hampton-45 @ Cloudland Cloudland-58 Hampton-40 @ Hampton
  6. I will go out on a limb and say Cloudland by 22 @ Unaka and by 29 to 35 at Cloudland. Hampton and Cloudland match up better than Unaka and Cloudland. Although I believe if Unaka shoots the ball well at home I think they could give Hampton a fit. I do believe Unaka has improved quiet a bit but their inconsistency is the only thing that worrys me in the conference.
  7. After Jacksons loss lastnight to Upperman it changes things around a little bit. Even though I still believe overall Jackson County is your #1 team i gotta bump them down 2 spots. 1.Lake County 2.Summertown 3.Jackson County 4.Cloudland 5.Houston County 6.Clarkrange 7.Clay County 8.Moore County 9.Huntington 10.(t) between Madison and Greenfield
  8. Well I have been under the bleachers long enough now it's time to talk some basketball with you folks. First things first, And this is just my opinion. Basketball is very watered down in the East Tennessee area for the most part this year. However I think there are about 4 or 5 teams that are pretty legit to talk about in this area that I think are really setting the bar right now for this area,But I will stay on the topic and keep it simple. 1.Cloudland- The lady Highlanders has proven over the course of the past month or so they can contend with anyone in this area A-AAA. I think in order for Cloudland to be a successfull team the Wilson girl is going to have to be consistent in the post like she was against Unicoi County on Monday night in order for Cloudland to beat good quality competition. If anyone was has watched Cloudland play this year 85 percent of their scoring comes from the Rhodes and Clarke girl,Thats why I believe that the Wilson girl playing the way she played Monday is very key for the Highlanders to keep her consistent throughout the year,Which will make them a better team come tournament time. 2.Unicoi- I thought Cloudland attacked them early and Unicoi got really frustrated and uncomfortable not being in that position all year. However I think the Edwards girl is a true leader for the lady Devils and did a good job of getting Unicoi back in the game later and not going into panic mode. In my opinion I think Unicoi and Elizabethton match up better than Unicoi and Cloudland,However I do believe Elizabethton is a little deeper off the bench more than Unicoi but the first 5 for both teams match up pretty solid. 3.Elizabethton- Haven't gotten the chance to see them play since the departure of Dugger,But I still think both Elizabethton and Unicoi will make it to play in sub-state games just for the simple fact both teams defend very well and have good leaders Depew and Edwards with a very strong supporting cast in Thompson,King,Bennet and Gardner. As well with Elizabethton having Robertson,Demoss Mccurry Madgett and the freshman guard. 4.Hampton- Very much improved team since the first of the season.Seems like there is a different kid stepping up each night for the Bulldogs,If post play can be more consistent on the offensive and defensive end to go along with steady guard play I could see coach Tolley and the dogs making some noise come tournament time. I still believe they are the # 2 team in the WVC behind Cloudland but look for them to battle the lady Highlanders both home and away. 5.Unaka- I think inconsistency is hurting this lady Ranger team for the most part. They give up alot of points to opposing teams and teams that defend well against them give them alot of problems. Unless Unaka shoots the ball well I honestly would have to put the finishing 4th in the WVC. They are very small so I see them having trouble rebounding and scoring against teams like Hampton and Cloudland. 6.Happy Valley- Not really much hope for the Warriors. They have a very good starting 5 but everytime I have watched them they are just so out of sink offensively and defensively that I just dont see them being able to compete with good quality teams like Elizabethton,Unicoi and even Sullivan East in that conference. 7.Johnson County- They play very hard on the defensive end but with the lack of ability to score with other teams makes it tough for coach Whitts girls. Johnson County must continue to stay strong defensively but must get some kind of production offensively over the break.
