I can see this being a 14-10 type game….that’s if Springfields defense can slow Cats offense down. I still feel this will be a tough game for the Jackets to win. Both teams started the season playing so-so opponents and one game was way closer than the other…..I don’t know

If Springfield can get the bad/high snap situation fixed the offense will look 10x better. For most of the game last week the offense was out of sink due to poor snaps. Routes looked good and there was running lanes but the timing was off because of the snaps. Defense looked good as always but if the O puts them in bad spots this week, it’ll be a long night for the Jackets.
Agreed

That’s it…. how quick can they make positive strides? I have no doubt that they work on correcting a few things this week. If the defense can hold Clarksville to 10-13 pts I think the Jackets would have a good shot.

I believe this will be a tough game for this Jacket team to win. The offense must clean some things up even though their is a ton of potential. Sounds like the Wildcats have some playmakers on offense that should be a good test for the Jackets defense.

Well no one will say it so I will, Jackets lose 14-7 against Rossview??? In their jamboree. Rossview is never good, so not sure what to think here lol
Approximately 90% of starters ONLY played 1st series on both sides of the ball. Backups and Freshmen finished the rest. Im not sure if Rossview kept starters in after 1 series but Jackets backups didn’t show their best. Don’t worry, Jackets starters dominated the….I don’t know ……8 plays they got on both sides of the ball.

Last night was the first time I’ve seen the Jackets. Some of the 1st team trench players appear to be stocky but just short. Looks like tallest starting lineman is roughly 6 ft. They seemed like they could move and fire off the ball. Not sure how good of a measuring stick Rossview was. I liked the speed. I think we’ll miss #9……he brought the thunder.
As for the Bobcats…..against a even smaller Kirkwood team that had dudes that looked like they were 5 ft 5 on the DL….the Cats had trouble opening holes for 11 (who has the size for the position). He was stuffed a handful of times. Appears Cats had trouble with speed. QB9 had to scramble couple times out of the pocket but did a decent job finding an open receiver 10-15 yds down field. Another thing I noticed about Greenbrier is they had alot of penalties….with the starters they had 3rd and 20-25 a couple of times last night. Cats were in a 3-3-5 defense pretty much whole game and Kirkwood did move the ball against them. Will be interesting to see if they stay with it or change it up.
Game is at the Nest, cross town rivals, several new starters, first game jitters, from what I gathered last night…..I expect the Jackets to make it 10 in a row against the Cats.
27-7 Jackets

I’ll say 31-21 Oakland

Great high school football game!
Turning point in the game was the dropped punt on special teams and blown coverage by Springfield D. I was standing in that endzone. A little high but definitely still a routine punt. Refs did not do Springfield any favors saying it wasn't a safety. I guess forward progress gave Henry County a break.
Kuddos to 0 playing on a busted wheel. Tough kid.
Talked to multiple Henry County and Springfield fans. Passionate about their football!
I tried to get a photo with the star OC, but we are gonna meet up at the iso cafe for the Tennessee game.
Trolingers BBQ was delicious. Thanks for the recommendation!
And the post route that 3 dropped in the 4th qt. It was a little high but catchable. Maybe could have scored there.

I noticed they changed from a short game to the longer passes. They were killing HC with the short passes.
Im a armchair coach but keep rolling with what is working imo. Devon best deep ball did hit Johnson on the post that would have possibly givin them the opportunity to tie it. But Jackets played hard and fell short

The Jackets gave up 2 tds in regulation in first game. Had a backup get burnt overtop in HC territory. Everyone is healthy. The offense we saw in that 2nd half...I like the Jackets chances. It’s do or die. In this caliber of game the team with the least mistakes will win.
Springfield made the most, costly, mistakes again and it cost them again. Tough. Coaches also went away from what was working on offense....I will never understand. Congrats to Henry!

Even if #0 doesn't play, I still like our chances because Springfield has never seen "The Truth" play on offense
The “truth” hasn’t went up against the Jackets either
