  1. I mean ricks may very well be the best in the city. If so what is he ranked according to the top recruiting websites? Has rivals or scout.com come to see him play? I'm just wondering. Even if he is the best in Chattanooga what does that mean? Chattanooga basketball doesn't get any respect around the state for a reason. Ricks is what 6'3( I'm assuming). JaJuan Smith was probably the best player to come out of this area in a while and he had to walk on!! Jurick and McMasters will sign at big-time DI programs. I know it's not fair but no matter how good he is he won't be 6'10!
  2. So what is it now Phillip 3 Carter 1? It might just be 2 to 1 I'm not sure but I know Phillip one the other game this year and the 30 20 night last season. Carter played well his game baffles me but he is a heck of a ball player. Phillip is shaping more and more into a D-1 post player with his aggressive play and consistency rebounding the ball. He reminds me of Paul Davis at Michigan State now Golden State, only Phillip is well ahead of him athletically. Phillip won't get called for the "Shaq" move at the next level like he does in high school, that is what you goobers are calling throwing elbows its just the new way post players at higher levels are getting seperation.
  3. Dude please re-read what this thread is about! "The Toughest GYM to play in." This is not a thread about the toughest TEAM to play in Chatt. The toughest gym (to inform you is based upon crowd noise how hyped up the team gets and overall feel of the crowd being right on top of you) is CSAS, Bradley, Grace, Temple and Cleveland are some of the toughest GYMS to play in. And you also must've misread my post when I said my team consistently beat Howard. I said I only lost one time in four games at Howard, they beat us at home every year except my senior year. Just please to save yourself future embarassment pick fights in the right threads. I played with Rashad prolly 3 or 4 months ago and trust me he is 6'8 or 6'9. Have a nice day!
  4. You got me I am definately an internet thug! HaHa! That's hilarious. Jennings-Jones was also only like 6'4 when he was at Howard now he's close to like 6'9 that's also a big reason why he so much better. Howard is not a power house in the Chattanooga area. They are usually pretty competitive but they aren't a powerhouse. Brainerd has been a powerhouse and until the past like 2 seasons usually handles Howard relatively easy. I don't believe Sir Lee's class ever beat them. Howard has definately been very good in 6-AA but they haven't done it on the state level yet. When I was in school CSAS was the toughest gym to play in. Howards gym was tough because the floor was uneven and one goal slanted to the left. I started for four years and only loss one time at Howard so in my opinion CSAS was the toughest gym to play at. Howard wasn't even in my top 5. Temple, Grace, Bradley, and Cleveland were my other 5. Bradley is the toughest gym to play in anywhere. Have you seen that place? It has seats that go up forever, and it is always packed!! My opinion only. This internet thug is about to go drink a 40 of 7up! Peace Dawg! (I'm also throwing up a gang sign of some sorts)HaHa! Take it easy brother.
  5. The Howard fan is an idiot.. I'm sorry but you have to be one of the most intellectually challanged people I have ever seen post on CoachT. "Yeah we have the best gym cause we cuss at our guys and the other team." Wow I want my kid going there!! Secondly you have no clue what your talking about coach Leroy was the only coach in the nation that could've gotten Ricky Harper and Sir Lee to play that well together! Also how in the world are you saying Howard has always been good? They haven't made the state tournament in like 7 years and are just playing good in a very poor district. Give me a break and please don't make another post saying Howard has always been good. Oh yeah CSAS and Bradley are the two toughest gyms to play. Both Coach Dragoo and Smith know how to work officials!
  6. Chattanooga HaHa!! That's all I have to say. Either you are an old geezer who wishes his kid was half the ball player Philip was or you're a nerdy guy who was never much of a ball player. Either way your basketball comments hold no water to me personally. I also guarantee you have never spoken with nor interacted with Philip! You just like to get on here and run your mouth (or fingers if you want to be a jerk). And Coach Pearl never said anything like that. He likes Philip very much as a person and as a ball player (he has verbally in front of me confirmed this on more than 3 occasions). Coach Pearl loves players with attitude and fire that's how he acts and how he coaches. He was kicked out of an East Ridge game for running his mouth from the stands, so come on!! Not trying to sound like I know anything more than anybody else but Coach Pearl and my Uncle happen to be friends and over thanksgiving Coach Pearl told me that Philip was his number 1 guy in the state!!
  7. Jurick will be too much to handle. He's gained some muscle mass just due to him getting older. Leaping ability is improved and his rebounding and shot blocking are also better. Plus he's grown about half an inch. He could prolly average in the upper 20's in points and rebounds.
  8. Carter and Phillip! Carter has the potential to be alot funner to watch but Phillip is the blue collar rebounder all college coaches look for. He's ranked 27th nationally and that ranking will only go up! It took him until last year to realize that he was the biggest kid anywhere he goes. (Joking he's not stupid he just didn't want to hurt anybody). Please remember that both these kids are only juniors and very young juniors at that. Carter could easily beef up and be an athletic post. Phillip is on his way although he's not there yet. He did average nearly a triple double last year but alot of his rebounds were off his own misses. This match-up will be fun to watch!
  9. Back to the Jenning-Jones comments. He will get paid LOTS of MONEY to play professional basketball!!! And it will prob. be in the NBA. I know him and can tell you that he has one of the best work ethics I have ever seen! He would come and practice with us and would dominate all of our post guys when he was a sophmore at Chatt State, our guys were juniors and seniors. He is a beast in the weight room and tenacious on the boards. Is he really on the cover of SI that's awesome.
  10. Who are some of the guys that have already commited to playing?
  11. Jurick is a beast!! Anyone who disagrees is crazy. 15 blocks and 20 boards. How many people are pulling down 20 boards with any consistency?
  12. I have been lucky enough to play against Phillip, Carter, and Bledsoe(the 6'11 kid from McMinn Central) at different times. Phillip is by far the best all around ball player. He doesn't have a wow factor like Carter he just gets the job done. MNew lighten up on the 16 yr old kid. And especially lighten up on Goddard. You as well as I know Baker and Goddard can only coach so much the guys have to get the job done.
  13. Redandwhite did you by any chance see what you typed before you sent it? You said Carter is a 3 or a 4. What kind of system are you talking about where Carter could be a 3? He is way too slow to play the 3, Seth Skogen is way faster than he is and Seth is way too slow to guard a 3 man at the next level. So please enlighten me on what team Carter could play the 3 for. P.S. Just because you're 6'10 and can shoot a set 3 pointer doesn't make you a guard.
  14. Sorry I think the guy that said Carter is a 3 or 4 was in the Grace vs. ER thread.
  15. Carter is a much better athlete than Phillip. At this point in time Phillip is a much better basketball player. Carter is extremely soft and doesn't play with any sort of passion. Phillip is a fierce competitor already. When he blocks a shot or gets a dunk he will definately let it be known. Phillip gets technical fouls because he is intense. I will agree Carter is not the focal point point for Grace yet, but next season he will. I know he is 6'10 and has some touch but he still needs to be a force on the block. Whoever said Carter is a 3 or a 4 is crazy. He is way to slow to guard any three guard in America. I played at a D2 school and he could not even start at the three for them. He will be a 4 with touch, not a 3 with size.
