  1. Nashville Christian 45 TCA 38 Final. Heck of a ballgame. We all said whoever got ball last would win. NC QB is best I’ve ever seen in HS. His arm strength is unbelievable and he’s only a sophomore. Big time SEC QB in the future. He can run as well. TCA played a great game and had some big time plays. Nothing to hang your heads about losing to NC. Lions had a great season and will be better next year!
  2. Trader, I still follow Scotts Hill and cheer them on as well! Hope they have a great year in all sports! Wonderful people over there.
  3. Yeah, been on the T about 11 years. Typo
  4. The reference to a game 9 years ago was simply a comparison reference. Backing 7 up in the secondary didn’t work then and it didn’t work now. That’s coaching. I don’t really care if you care or not. I wished Mosley hadn’t got hurt because we don’t ever want a young kids future to be jeopardized but also so that the game would have been played differently. Makes no sense to argue what outcome would have been because he’s not playing and won’t be playing. You got to go with what you got. Obviously odds were in your favor if he played but I would take my chances on TCA if he was able to play. Odds of both of us being in Chatt are pretty slim. NCA and FCA are tall tasks for TCA and Columbia Academy is a tall task for JC.
  5. Such a homer! What’s deceiving about 27 points? TCA is averaging quite a few more than that. It will be a great game with NC’s QB being a huge factor. Going to be hard to out coach a multiple state champion coach like Bowling. JC tried it by basically putting 7 in the secondary to take away TCA’s strong passing game and Bowling pounded it 4 yards at a time! JC tried that in 2014 when Akin was leading the air raid but that didn’t go to well either for JC with Goldsmith and Bond running the ball for TCA.
  6. Also, the score last year was 49-42 JC with him playing the whole game and the TCA lineup was basically the same as this year. Forgot to mention that earlier.
  7. First of all, let me acknowledge that he is probably best player in West Tn outside of Memphis and maybe inclusive of Memphis. So in the first 1.5 quarters that he played what were his stats outside of the big 80 yard TD catch. It wasn’t much because TCA was keying on him and when he caught the ball they were able to get to him and gang tackle him. He can’t score if JC doesn’t have the ball. The ball control strategy would have worked regardless. Would score have been different? Absolutely. He would have most likely scored at least 1 more TD if not two but guess what TCA would have done, they would have opened it up and passed more to Waller and others. TCA may have scored more than 27 because they might have been forced not to play ball control. That’s the most conservative TCA has played all year. Probably would have been a 3-7 point game either way if he played. JC got out coached! That’s the bottom line! Really hope it’s not a super serious injury. Hope to see him in Orange in Fall of ‘24!
  8. You got anymore whine in that bottle?!
  9. Coach Bowling had a plan last night and it worked. Thompson never gets that many carries in a game. Maybe 26 to 28 on average. They usually mix it up and pass quite a bit. They have great receivers and a solid QB. It was all about ball control. It was 3 to 4 yards at a time and then he started using others players to keep JC off balance. He knew Thompson was good for 3 or 4 yards every carry. Yes, it would hurt to lose him but they have multiple weapons. Looked like an old Union City team out there. I predicted TCA would win because they have gotten better every single week. I anticipate TCA making some noise in the playoffs!
  10. 5 turnovers by JCS changed the game. TCA came to play.
  11. Just watched the replay of the kickoff return. Knee was not down! Not even close. Don’t guess that “if” qualifies!
  12. “They hate us because they ain’t us”. That’s hilarious! We left USJ after my son’s third grade year a few years back. We never looked back. Didn’t have any issues with USJ at all. They were good to us and it was a great place but we felt TCA was a better fit for us. I think TCA folks are just fine being who they are. We pay our bills just fine. Mechanical failures happen.
  13. Pretty confident for a young USJ team aren’t you? USJ always has a good defense so TCA will have to mix it up and keep them off balance. I was super impressed with Coach Bowling’s ability to make in game adjustments against Chester. If TCA can keep Spencer from making big plays it will be close. That’s easier said than done but I like this TCA defense. TCA QB is a warrior and got better and better as game went on. I think it’s going to be a close one and special teams will make the difference.
  14. He wasn’t bragging! He was just stating facts.
  15. Trader, he’s a keyboard warrior! I agree with you regarding Butler!
  16. Very profound and insightful! Lol
  17. Southside Lady Hawks brings home the Gold!
  18. You are incorrect. The family has to have a bona fide change of address if a student transfers to any school that is not a boarding school. This is the boarding school advantage. The family does not have to have a bona fide change of address. Not a level playing field. Can’t blame them for using the rules to their advantage.
  19. It’s truly a boarding school issue. They don’t have to play on a level field. A transfer doesn’t have to sit out like they would anywhere else unless there is a bona fide change of address. If this rule is changed the pipeline to Webb will stop. It goes on at the other boarding schools as well. What have you accomplished by beating a final 8 team by 60 on Friday and a final 4 team by 50 today? Both teams were solid high school teams with 20 plus wins! I would suspect they will beat MTCS by 30 or more on Saturday! Nobody in the state can compete with an International team that has 8 Division one players! Teams shouldn’t be getting beat by 50 or more in the Final 8 and beyond. Schools need to step up and petition the TSSAA for new rules. They should play a national schedule like the IMG’s and Montverdes of the world.
  20. University of Webb probably isn’t doing anything outside the TSSAA rules. The problem is that they are able to assemble an International all star team within the rules! The rules need to be changed for boarding schools. If a student transfers they should sit out a year unless there is a bona fire change of address! That’s the rule for all other schools! Why don’t they have to play by the same rules? If they did, the AAU pipeline to Webb would stop because those DI power 5 players aren’t going to sit out a year. Huge unfair advantage to boarding schools. I don’t blame them for using the rules to their advantage. Playing field just needs to be leveled.
  21. Hey Doc, you and I know each other. So sorry to hear about Pride. He stopped and ate wings with me and BigEdmo one night and he talked and talked about Peabody. We occasionally got a word in about TCA! Ha. He, BigEdmo and I had some good debates on the T. I’m sure BigEdmo welcomed him home with a Big bear hug and Go Lions grin! So sorry to hear this! Going to miss him on the T!
