  1. TN POWER 6th grade girls team has a few spots available for the 2017 season. Last years team finished AAU State Champions, Top 10 at AAU Nationals in New Orleans, LA. with a 34-6 record, we look forward to growing on those achievement's. Power Elite is based out of White County, TN. and is coached by Jon Powers. We are looking for a few dedicated players to be a part of our family. We have several current college athletes that provide training at our practices including Bella Taylor (Sewanee University) which recently was awarded by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) as one of the 4 best players of the week in the state of Tennessee. Also, providing training: Brittany Myers (Freed Hardman University) along with several other former stand outs in the Upper Cumberland Area. We dedicate our practices on individual growth from each of our athletes and then transform those skills into a team environment. Being a part of this team is a commitment to everyone involved. We get the best out of our players with a strong commitment of making sure they enjoy their experience. Please reach out to Coach Powers (931) 265-5138 by text if you are interested in coming to one of our "open gym" sessions. You can also send an email to: tennesseepower@gmail.com with questions or comments. Thank you! CJP
  2. TN POWER 11th grade team is coming off of an AAU State Championship season after two AAU State Runner-up finishes. We have one or two positions available on this years team. We are looking to complete our roster with a Point Guard/Shooting Guard to go along with our returning players. We always try to avoid having try-outs as the roster is almost full. If you are interested in an opportunity to fill our available positions please send message. We have players ranging from freshman to juniors on our current roster. Text me at (931) 265-5138 or leave message here or email us at: torchpowers@gmail.com. Our High School team will compete in AAU state qualifiers as well as AAU State Championship. We will compete in two of the top 5 largest College Exposure Tournaments in the Nation. Run For the Roses and Battle in the Boro. We currently have players from Marion Co, Moore Co., Van Buren Co., White Co., Cumberland Co., and Warren Co. Most of our practices will be held in the Upper Cumberland Area. We look forward to having another great season! Please send message if interested. Thank you, Coach Jon Powers
  3. White County is the same five to eight girls that played Sparta Youth Basketball together when they were 7/8 years old. NO TRANSFERS here! I know this for 100% fact because I have coached everyone of them in one form or another. Cracks me up about the 5 transfers and not believing that White county has zero. It's just not typically the way we do things around here. When these team win its because they grew up in a small town and the coaches do the best they can with what they have. Kills me that these towns three times the size of most towns in the Uppercumberland can't win without having transfers from two, three towns in order to be successful. Would love to see Blackman, Riverdale, Oakland , ect.... In a couple years if they had to play with the players that were born in their own town! although I think they could put some great teams on the court unfortunately I don't think we will never know. Bradley Central made it to Refional finals with one player-a transfer (surprise, surprise) C'mon man. How nice would it be if everyone played on the team they grew up playing for instead of transferring just to play Bball. How nice would that be to see some equality across the state and players playing for the name on the front of the jersey instead of the one on the back. It's all good but to set the record straight White County has ZERO transfers. The way it should be!!! Cheers

  13. Class AAA= Bella Taylor White County High School. Team is 23-2 and she leads the team in points 13.3, assists 6.0, steals 2.9, Free throws 80.2% Class A= Lakelyn Bouldin, Van Buren High School
  14. 18-22 from the free throw line does not seem like a bad shooting night from CCHS? CCHS hit two more threes than WCHS did. I seen points EARNED by WCHS not GIVEN to them. Both great teams but from your post it sounds like WCHS did nothing to come away with the win and it was more about what CCHS did not do. From my seats it looked like two very talented teams battling it out. Bad shooting night just may have to do with good defense. Give credit where credit is due. Neither team cashed this game in, one team had to win and one had to lose. It may be different next game but give WCHS some credit. 21-2 record is not because every team they played GAVE them points, had a bad shooting night, and did not talk on defense. It may be that WCHS is pretty good as is CCHS. I actually love watching how hard CCHS plays and as a coach myself appreciate everything about that team. I think the coach does a GREAT job getting those kids ready to play. Its all good my friend, I just seen it a little different than you did.
  15. TN POWER is working on putting together our 2015 10th grade AAU/College Exposure Team. We will compete in AAU state qualifiers as well as the AAU State Championships. This team will also compete in Run for the Roses in Lexington KY and Battle in the Boro , Nashville TN College showcase tournaments. We competed last year with 500 other teams from across the country with over 1000 college recruiters present. Last years team consisted of 10 players from 4 counties and finished the season 34-6. We typically practice in White County and Putnam County. Our Head Coach has attended Point Guard College in Marietta, GA. and is NCAA certified to coach. Our main goal is training these athletes both individually and in a team environment. If you are interested and serious about growing as a basketball player please call or text with player info at: 931-265-5138. Google www.tennesseepower.webs.com or facebook Tnpower or email @ tennesseepower@gmail.com You can leave a message here and we will contact you, send a text, email or a facebook message. We may be able to avoid try-outs (as we have done in the past) by getting player info and building a roster. There are only a few spots available on the team so please contact us ASAP. Even though the high school season is still in full force we would like to work on finalizing everything in order to make our season the best it can be for our players. Thank you and we look forward to another great season!
