  12. Sale Creek High School Lady Panthers 2nd Annual Softball Clinic June 2 - 4, 2014 Who: Rising 2nd-9th graders When: June 2-4, 2014 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. daily Where: Soddy Daisy Kids Club Softball Fields, 150 Depot Street, Soddy Daisy Fee: $65 per player The 10-time state championship Sale Creek High School Coach Clifford Kirk, Sale Creek High School Coaches Chris Day and Kendra Goforth, and players from the 2014 Lady Panthers team will conduct the clinic. The Lady Panthers finished the 2013 season with a 28-18-1 record as District 6-A Champions, Region 3-A Runner-Ups, and advancing to the Sectionals for the first time in more than 10 years. This clinic is developed to stress the skills and fundamentals that are necessary to be successful at any level of fastpitch softball competition. The skills covered will include hitting, bunting, baserunning, and fundamental and situational defensive play for infield and outfield. There will also be time for pitchers and catchers to learn from the Lady Panther’s coaches and players. Participants should dress comfortably and appropriately each day. They should bring all necessary softball equipment: gloves, bats, batting helmets, cleats, visors/sunglasses, workout appropriate clothes, etc. If you do not have a bat or batting helmet, we will provide one for you. All campers should bring tennis shoes as we will go inside if necessary. We recommend that you label everything your daughter brings as several players will have the same equipment. Bring a snack or lunch for the short break in the middle of the day. Clinic fees include instruction and supervision during the appointed times, a camp tee shirt, and supplemental insurance. Walk-ins are welcome the morning of the clinic, but t-shirts will not be guaranteed. Contact Coach Kendra Goforth for a registration form at Goforth_K@hcde.org or 423-582-9240.

  14. "We will be releasing the TSCA All-State teams today, and yes, these teams will only include players that are from schools that are members. If we added players from teams that are not members, that would be like adding players from other states on the Tennessee All-State team. Coaches must take the time and effort to join so their players can get recognition. We are not trying to keep anyone from making the All State team, but we must have guidelines, such as the players must be from TSCA member schools. This is a special recognition for players whose schools belong to the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association. We hope that you can encourage your coach to become a member next year because we have some really nice awards to give to these outstanding players for a job well done. We hope that you will join us at Tennessee Tech on June 13th to help honor these players." -TSCA Also, as a coach, I joined for two main reason. The first one is so that my girls can receive more recognition. The TSCA has multiple ways a girl can earn recognition, from the All-Academic Team, All-Star Teams, All-State Team, Miss Softball award, scholarships, and more. The second reason I joined is so that we can form a strong high school softball association that is state wide and our voices can be heard. The $40 you pay to be a member is well worth it.
