Playball you know nothing about me or any connection that I have with this team. I do watch a lot of their games and have simply stated facts and it is not bitterness..... just facts. It is my understanding that several players are going to "take it up with him privately". The "childish" behavior is not me but is very evidently displayed week after week from a few of the players. Watch a BHS game objectively like i try to do and you will see what I am talking about.

Harris did pitch a nice game on Tuesday in a 4-0 shutout. Other pitchers selected to take the mound for BHS were not on their A game and Shelton did get a high ankle injury in basketball but did pitch an inning or two in Birmingham last week and yet watched this week. Johnson does indeed throw a 90 mph fastball and has signed with the US Naval Academy to do just that. He and Shelton never saw the mound with this "coach" at BHS. I also continue to see helmets and bats thrown with absolutely no repercussions from this "coach". Best pure power hitter on team may be sitting on the bench with a groin injury but if i was the coach I sure would work him into every game as a PH at opportune times. This young man also watched all of the action on Wednesday.

And now do you believe me....This choach is useless. BHS is loaded and he loses 2 out of 3. This game was tied and instead of putting in Johnson to close the game (throws 90 plus, has era below 2 and has warmed up in bullpen for 3 innings) he puts in Walker who warmed up with 4 pitches. And with facing a RH loaded lineup he subs Maher with another left handed pitcher,,,,,you cannot make this stuff up,,,,,,ridiculus, Shelton never sees the mound. BHS will be lucky to get out of District Tournament. Oh and 2nd base nepotism is noticed,,,,,2 errors.
  4. Brentwood High may have more to come but currently have the following: 1) Brian Reynolds ......Vanderbilt 2) Adam Johnson........Navy 3) Jake Benny.............Berry CollegeHigh
  5. I can only speak from our perspective.......we used NCSA and I would recommend them. They provide the following: 1) Post videos and stats on their website 2) When a coach looked at my son's page, we were alerted and they site even keeps up with how many times he looked. 3) From their site you can then email the coach directly and say something to the effect of....Coach X, i saw that you looked at my profile and I want you to know that I am very interested in your program. 4) Site provides school data with everything from cost to population, male/female ratio, rankings, location stats 5) They also have 4-5 webinars a week that deal with issues such as ......your first recruiting trip, questions for the coach, Opportunities available at all levels, You have verbally comitted, now what?, etc 6) You can target Coaches/Schools to send your profile 7) You get a personal coach that you can call anytime about anything relating to the recruitment process 8) One-time lifetime charge.......they promise to help find jobs in baseball post graduate if desired. This may not be for everyone but it sure worked for us with me and my wife working. You may be able to do some of this but not much of it. My son signed a 100% baseball scholli with a D! team......not sure that team would have even known about my son without the service(Top 20 school).
  6. Come on people.....If their is a parent and/or fan that can steal your coaches signs and the coach knows this and is too stupid to change his signs then you need a new coach. People have been stealing signs for as long as there has been baseball. Heck I even recall a district tournament game last year that my church youth director attended to watch my son. He had deciphered the opposing coaches signs by the 2nd inning.....swipe accross chest was fb, grab of belt was curve and all other signs were decoys. This was so laughable that he knew we knew his signals but refused to change them. He was subsequently fired from that school.
  7. Thanks for the addition BigChief.....I forgot to mention the value of a good travel team in the summer. A good team will be at right tournaments such as the PG tournament in Atlanta.....my son played in this one and I counted over 20 major colleges in attendance. A bad travel team will just take your money and stay relatively local.
  8. Close to zero......If your kid has the abilities such as pitcher with above 85MPH fastball, 60 speed of sub 7.0 sec, and/or best bat on the team or region......go to perfectgame showcase (not tournament) and get ranked and evaluated. Then as a parent, remember that each college baseball coach gets the grand total of 11.7 schollarships for 35 team members. I remind you of this because college coaches LOVE good students......they can give 1/3 baseball scholli and 1/2 academic and voila you have a nice package. If your kid ranks well with PG, then I would highly recommend that YOU broadcast that via a recruiting service such as NCSA or BeRecruited. These services will do what a HS coach will not which is broadcast your stats to college coaches. The only real value of HS coaches is that after a college coach has thoroughly evaluated a prospect he may call the HS coach to get his endorsement. The lesson here (from a Dad whose son will be playing D1 baseball next year) is DO NOT DEPEND ON A HS COACH TO DO YOUR WORK!

Centennial will probably beat them 2 more times this week with this coach's decisions. He continues to play same players that make same mistakes. Catcher who has allowed more pass balls than any team in district, 1 outfielder with a week arm and weak bat, and a closer that does not have the stuff to close. And tonight as pitcher, you will not see SRs Shelton, Johnson (Navy Committ), or even Walker......he will go with a Jr Harris
