  1. Have been to the CP 2 times since I don't coach any more, both times as a spectator. I thought the venue was good for wrestling. It was just poorly attended compared to chatt. being able to see is great fits all the mats u need. the odor was a little funky. could do more to fix that. and maybe if the tssaa was costing itself several 100's of thousand's on football may have a little more to spend. people need to go and attend the events and pay a decent price for the honor of going, we as wrestling fans tend to be cheap sometimes. it takes money to be good. look who is good in the state and look who has the most money. they work extremely hard. but they have more than most. so support the sport with your dollars and person.
  2. can anyone tell where the region 1 AAA duals are and where is the region 1 AAA individual at.
  3. Can anyone tell me who is hosting the match this year. Are they in John. City or Jeff. Co. or at D.B.
  4. Region History: 1999 125 3rd 135 4th, 5th 140 6th 189 6th 215 1st, 2nd, 6th 275 2nd, 3rd 2000 112 2nd 135 1st 171 3rd 275 1st 2001 103 5th 112 1st 119 4th 130 2nd, 6th 135 6th 275 3rd 2002 112 6th 125 3rd 130 5th 145 5th 160 3rd 171 1st, 6th 275 1st, 5th 2003 103 5th 112 3rd 119 5th 130 1st 140 6th 145 1st 171 3rd 275 1st, 3rd, 4th 2004 119 6th 130 3rd 152 1st 275 3rd 2005 112 6th 119 4th 125 1st 189 3rd 215 6th 275 3rd 2006 112 3rd 119 4th, 6th 125 1st 130 5th, 6th 135 5th 171 5th 285 3rd, 5th 2007 103 4th 160 5th 171 6th 285 3rd 2008 112 5th 135 2nd 145 3rd 160 1st 2009 125 5th 135 3rd 140 6th 145 1st 152 6th 171 5th 285 5th 2010 119 5th 125 2nd 135 6th 171 3rd 215 3rd 285 6th 2011 119 3rd 125 4th 135 6th 160 3rd 171 4th This is a list of weight classes that region 1 medaled in at the TSSAA state tournament. Not the toughest or deepest region in the state but always working and improving. Coaches and wrestlers keep up the hard work and keep getting better.
  5. We do have true state champs in each division. Like I said wrestling fans are the worst about who the true no. 1 is, well we have 3 divisions in Tennessee and 3 state champs. And as I said we don't need to diminish these wrestlers accomplishments, cause it ain't no feel good tournament, it is our STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. It doesn't water anything down it may allow some kids to get more serious about the sport and get better. Why just have 1 weight class and have 1 true champ. There can be only 1.
  6. Wrestling fans are the worst about having who is best. We seem to always want to diminish what others have accomplished. You now it does not matter if only 4 or 54 A-AA kids would have placed in AAA or D-ll. The split will help wrestling in Tennessee. It has in every state around us so why not here. The schools that have the money, resources, and support will always be the best, in any class. So let everyone have there moment in the sun, cause life is hard for most and maybe these accomplishments will send a few or a lot to a better sense of self and a better life who knows. There are still a lot of place's you can go to see how good you are. Go to the Super 32 or NWCA national's, get your coach to enter you in the Beast, or Ironman, Flo- Nationals. There are so many places you can go to test your medal. Go to King University and work out or UTC, Middle tn. state. Have and day with a lot of the young coach's who are all across the state, and probably a few of the older ones can still go. Give the split a chance and see if it has a positive effect on the sport that we love.
  7. The 220 match was totally decided by the ref no offensive move's = state title. That ain't good.
  8. Is there any place I can see a video of Mr. Evans wrestling On the website the A-AA finals did not get posted. Girls AAA and D-II are there but A-AA is not.
  9. I don't believe most of the wrestler's pay that much attention, but the medals are a little lack luster when compared to super 32 medals or even aau national tournament medals. I have a family member that has a few tssaa state medal a super32 medal aau national medals tssaa medals are the lesser of the 3. But like I said I don't really believe most of the wrestlers pay that much attention.
  10. The split will help wrestling in the state of Tennessee. Wrestling fans are alway's going on about there only being 1 number 1. Usually all knows who the best is, the split will help someone else have success beside Cleveland ,Bradley, Soddy. It's good to see the middle tn. teams coming on. Clarksville has been good for years, Franklin has had some goods years, now Wilson, Blackman, Ravenwood, and others are coming to the party this is good for the sport will cause growth. A-AA needs the chance to grow. Believe it or not it does not diminish Clevelands win in AAA that Hixson won A-AA all knows that Cleveland is the better team. But Hixson will have pride in what they accomplished and Alcoa, PF it will help Tennessee wrestling in the end. Schools like Sullivan East that had 2 medalist 1 in the finals this will help wrestling at S.E. South Greene had a medalist this is great for this very young program. It will grow the sport. Having different divisions does not diminish anyone's accomplishment's. Accept the change it will make us stronger over time.
  11. Is there going to be any place we can buy the state finals to watch them.
