  1. I don't know if a punch counts like 2 unsportsmanlike but if you are ejected from the game I believe you miss the next one no matter time or half.
  2. I can agree somewhat as there were years where I thought we matched up well with Maryville and had a chance to come out and compete to win. This was one of those years. TDB was and is a big loss as I have watched him play against my sons for 6 years at MHS ( he has been at MHS for 6 years hasn't he, seems like it!!) he will be hard to replace when he graduates. BUT, for the most part MHS has had the team speed, quickness and size on most teams in UET to dominate. I know you like to downplay the talent of the players and keep cards close to the vest but....just saying... The team takes on the personality, psychology and intangibles of the head coach, it seems like his game plan and adjustments both ways are just a little deeper than other coaches at the HS level.
  3. I watched the game and made this observation..no disrespect to the Maryville team or their fans, but GQ could have taken the kids from DB and beat the team across the field.
  4. The pass gate / "VIP entrance" is on the scoreboard side up field house drive go to the big gate...
  5. 1) I don't think there is an Italian word for buffet and the last time I tried to translate "All you can eat" out there I got my face slapped...so I guess that's a no !! 2)We already bailed the hay from the parcel next door so you can bring your Maryville tail up here and gait all night!!
  6. RW87 sandbagging is frowned upon on the golf course and on the T.
  7. Take the Colonial Heights exit from I-81 onto Fort Henry Dr / Hwy 36 toward Kingsport. In about a mile you will see a blue roof car wash on the left, across the street is an Italian place called Raffaeles. They have really good food at a reasonable price. Then just get back on Fort Henry Dr and go towards Kingsport it will take you right in front of the stadium. Maryville fans would do good to park in the grass /park across Fort Henry Dr., walk up Field house Dr and buy tickets beneath the scoreboard. It's closer to the visitor stands.
  8. Looking back at last years team I seem to remember HVA starting like 14 or 15 seniors on that team. They were fast and hit hard. Fortunate to win last year. Have they reloaded?
  9. You do understand that Blazer is not a DB fan, you would be hard pressed to find a DB fan on here talking trash (unless it's the SH game) especially after last year. I would say the team is just as talented as last year, however, with better team chemistry and senior leadership. Block hard, run hard, tackle, cover, throw and catch that's what we need to concentrate on. Will be good to get our #1 OL back next week. Hope we can play with OR and their D1 talent. Good luck to the Indians and Roll Tribe!
  10. Murphy Fair has ME picked 4th in their conference with 12 of 22 starters returning including a 2-year starter at QB...plus they already have had a scrimmage you say? Sounds like DB looked ok then... You have to have drive, determination and an affection for physical contact if you are going to play football... for this reason many "best athletes" do not take the field or even the court for that matter....Thomas and Julius Jones played at PV about 10 miles from JIB so the lol should be saved...Offers from ETSU and Tenn Tech already
  11. Sorry, Tony's last name is Holmes, my bad, good D lineman with size and speed
  12. I would say that you don't have to send a scout or even swap the tape to know they are gonna get it to #5, even the boys at the bone heap can figure that one out ...Maybe Clinton can show us something..
  13. Offense will be behind the defense in my opinion, Defense has all but one or two returning starters, D-Line and line backers should be as good as anyone in our conference.. that's saying something with MHS LB's but these guys are experienced, quick and smart. D-Line will be deep with addition of Wadsworth and Holt to support Blair and Pierson. Defensive backs are experienced but from the past year I'm not sure if it's good experience... Gerald Sensabaugh has been working with the coaches and players to add some in game insight... appears to be working. O-Line is big and strong , however, will deal with some nagging injuries hoping to get well before the season starts. QB has had a good start in 7 on 7 and has good athletic ability, can run and throw and may even play a little D, Backup is Redwine a sophomore with good talent ...Running backs are young and inexperienced but Hicks and Barrett have some raw talent. Receiving crew will be done by committee, Newcome is a question with leg injury. WR's should be lead by Patton, Whetsel, Brown and Diminick should get time with Holt at TE / H back. Others to watch, Jaynes, Polinski, Buchanan and both Cornett boys.
