No, he said the Bolivar's QB had 22 rushes and he lost 25 yards. That stat is something I have a hard time believing in.

I do agree with you regarding to Bolivar. Their QB is good, I'll give them that. However, they don't have much after him, and the coaching staff may not necessarily be the best staff. I bet it's tough to keep good coaches at Bolivar because where the town is located. It's a small town that appears to not potentially grow. They don't have a major highway like 51 or 45, so the economic development may not be there. 

Bolivar doesn't seem to support their athletics, and it does show in a way.

He took over a program that made the playoffs in the seasons of 2018-2020, even made the quarterfinals in 2020. Franklin wasn't dominating during that three year stretch. They were only a .500 ish team. With that being said, they made the playoffs.

He must not be a good coach because their offense took the biggest hit. During his tenure, the most amount of points they have scored during a game was 28. 

In 2021, the only scored 14+ points just three games. In 2022, the offense improved, but they only hit 20 points in a game just twice. 

If there is a time to do it, now would be the time to do it. The "interim" has three games against basically two undefeated teams in Ravenwood and Mount Juliet. However, they do have a game against John Overton which is a winnable game. Give this interim three games in a four week stretch to prove what he can do, just hope the players haven't quit and mailed in the season. 

For the administration staff, they can sit there and get a four week head start to look at applicants and may "scout" a little. I hate that it happened, but I don't blame Franklin. Why hold on when you have the time to cut bait now.

Just the fact that he's coached 27 games and scored 25+ points just one game is crazy to think about.

With Union City having a population of 11,000+ and the Atwood area having a population of 1,000+, I think we can agree on that Union City should be able to win!

I'm going to disagree with you. JCS has the physicality on the front 7 on defense to slow Huntingdon down. Will Huntingdon get score? Yes. But JCS will get stops. 

The thing with JCS is their offense can come at you in different ways, and it's tough to stop because it's a unpredictable offense. They don't just have Mosley, but they have #9 which is a good running back and he can catch out of that position, too, #88 Collins is a good complimentary receiver, #85 Green is a huge TE that doesn't get the ball enough in my opinion, but he is tough to bring down. If you want to double team Mosley, go ahead, but how can you defend everyone else. I know Huntingdon may have a good D-Line, but the ball is going to be out quickly from Kelly's hand, the D-Line isn't going to matter. 

I do believe Hardin County is better than JCS, but JCS is a really really good football team.

I do love High School for the "small town" feel. Everyone knows everyone. The bands, the cheerleaders, the fans, all gathering at one place to 2.5-3 hours to support their team who represents their community.

It's the players game, I would rather see offenses that are fun for the players and provide great entertainment, than just a "3 yards and a cloud of dust." I feel bad for teams that have 6'3 receivers that may not get the ball because of the "style" of their offense. Great teams adjust their style of play to what their personnel provides, but there are a lot of coaches across our country that are selfish and not change their offensive system because it worked back in 1971. 

College football have better offenses because the coaches can try new plays and it may works. However, they're willing to do that to get the best out of their team and every player. I just don't see the creativity on offense from some coaches. I know college football players can handle the plays and all, but high school coaches don't really cheat when it comes to plays. As much as I love High school, for the willing to adjust and find creativity on offense, I'll say College Football.

It's a weird situation to be in for sure. Haven't set there and thought about the "best teams" in West Tennessee are from the classification of 1A and 2A. I don't know if JCS would be able to beat Dyersburg and Munford. I do believe coaching can get them past Haywood, but the Tomcats have the players in the secondary to "contain" Mosley. 

Just ten years ago, Liberty and North Side were the dominant teams in 3/4A (along with Covington, Lexington, and Hardin County). Then, here comes Haywood with Steve Hookfin. It doesn't help when Liberty has fallen off the earth, and North Side took a major step back, but trying to get back to relevancy. No one is talking about this, but teams like Crockett County need to be dominant again. You can throw in Lexington in there as well. I'll also say this, if South Gibson was clicking the way I saw them clicked against Munford, I thought they were the favorite to win 6-4A and be dominant. But injuries to the QB and RB position hurts, and the officiating blunder in the Milan game doesn't help them at all.

The "brand" matters when it comes to the polls. I can careless about the polls, but it is funny to me that the media puts Milan at 4, and Huntingdon at 5, when Huntingdon rolled into Milan this past Friday and won by 18.

If you're a high school football team from Memphis that is willing to have an "all road" schedule that includes a school south of Jackson (MS), a school from Tunica I believe, Pearl Cohn, Blackman, Cookeville, Haywood, Hardin County, and Walker Valley (Chattanooga area), then you have my respect. 

It's the same team that was tied with MUS in the third quarter last year.  No offense, but they're not Manassas or Hamilton.

I don't know how they're getting the funding for that program (not my business anyway), but it's cool for their coach to send his players all across the state to see different high school venues and teams to play a game of football.

Riverside was probably looking ahead to Huntingdon. I agree with Reitz here, the 5-0 record Tipton-Rosemark had is hilarious. I get it, they may need wins. However, they beat Halls, Gibson County, South Fulton, St. Benedict, and Harding Academy. All 5 of those teams combined for a record of 7-22.

Struggle is an odd way to say it. PURE will beat over 80% of the teams in West Tennessee. I actually think if their QB was taller and they can throw the ball, they'll be able to be pretty legit. They have the size and speed

Someone mentioned Ripley having a running big running back that is physical? The answer to that is yes, they do. However, I don't know what number that player is, so I cannot say he is #41.

When it comes to the game, I doubt this game is a running clock. However, let's make one thing clear, saying that a team put a running clock on Liberty is nothing to be happy about. It's pretty standard for the Exit 85 boys, since the start of the 2020 season, every team (other than 3) has defeated Liberty by 30 or more. 

When it comes to this game, I do like Ripley's athletes in this game. I don't know if I'll take them to win because they need to do a better job of finishing (Bolivar game) and putting points in the end zone. I do like Ripley if they score 30-35 in this game. Sorry Westview fans, but there's one thing I've learned recently, and that is a lot of fans in the northern part of West Tennessee that support their teams, will overhype their teams like crazy.

Man, what in the world is going on over at Lexington and Humboldt?

For Lexington, a team that last year beat Hardin County to win the region, they went all the way to the Quarterfinals before losing to the state runner-up in Pearl Cohn. Lexington put up a dog fight last year in Brownsville against Haywood. They did lose by 14, but out of the 13 Tomcats victories last year, 11 of them were by more than 30+ points. Showed you how dominate Haywood was last year, and Lexington was the only team to lose by two possessions. This year, they only beat Scotts Hill by two. Scotts Hill only has 1 win and that's to Humboldt. They get blown out by a rival in Riverside, don't show up really against an average Crockett County team. They lose a heartbreaker to North Side at the end, and then they drop a game to a charter school in Memphis Business Academy, which is probably ended up being a "pay to play" game for them.

For Humboldt, this is year 3 in Teddy, and they haven't improved one bit. You have a 6'5 offensive lineman that's getting offers from SEC schools. There's no positivity in the strawberry land. They have only scored 26 points in 5 games, just 4 touchdowns throughout the year. They scored 6 points against Harding Academy, and Harding Academy allowed 76 points total in the last two weeks. They get shutout against Dresden by 63-0. And this is year 3 for Pettigrew, I would think they should be hosting a playoff game this year, or at least have a shot for it. 

I haven't seen either of these teams play this year, so I don't want to just hammer these teams to death, but this is alarming.

What happens if your defensive end has his knee covered on 1st down, but doesn't have his knee covered on 2nd down, gets "injured" so whose is at fault? Can't be the player..

Point is, there's too much food the TSSAA is putting on the officials plate on pre-snap stuff, where there is food spilling off the plate, and the TSSAA doesn't know that.

I understand that, and I wish him and the Falcons the best throughout the remainder of the year. However, is that a good thing? What did he do against Dyersburg, Dresden, and Obion Central? I'm not going to say he is "stat padding" because Lake County was in a dogfight against South Fulton. With that being said, if he rushes for 350+ yards against Humboldt, then I'll be worried if I'm a Lake County fan.

Unfortunately, I believe there's no criteria to win this award. I know they may say it goes to the best player that performs well on the field, as well as be a great person off the field. I'm sure all the players that were mentioned previous are great people as well, so that does cancel out. Just because so and so from school A is a great kid, doesn't mean so and so from school B is not.

When it comes to the "award" and I will still go by who the best player is, that'll be Kumaro Brown. The only problem for Kumaro is that he may have missed a game already (don't have his official stats) and he may not have the carries as well. Honestly, it is all about usage rate. Lake County may need Mullins to run for 400+ yards so they can win a game. MASE doesn't really need Brown have to get Brown close to 400 yards, not in August-October at least. 

It's similar to Mr./Mrs. Basketball

Player A may need to get 30-35 points per game so his/her team can win.

Player B has the luxury to not have to worry about getting 30-35 points, but is still an overall better player than player A. Just doesn't have to get the stats to prove.

Depending on the situation. However, let's picture this being a basketball/football situation.

Lots of basketball players that are good believing they can be NBA players and they're not. Just imagine how tough it is to play basketball overseas as a job. If a player is 6'3 or 6'5 and playing basketball, that person needs to be playing football...

One team had a basketball player that was 6'5 and ended up going to a school no one even heard of. Congratulations to him! However, if he played football and had some skill, he could very well be at least at a FCS school to start out his career, with a possibility to transfer out to a FBS school.

One sport has 60 draft picks with only half of those picks earning a contract. The other sport has 7 rounds. Opportunities.

Lots of basketball players that are 6'3-6'5 that are focusing on the wrong sport. Need to be on the gridiron.

It's not the worst case in private school ball, where JCS non-region schedule is more impressive than their region schedule. They're going to be 10-0, go ahead and mark that down. Point is, Mosley doesn't need to receive over 50% of their completions to win. He may be their "best" or highly recruited player, but Collins and Green need to be more utilized in ways. It's a good problem to have when you have 4 guys that deserve to touch the football, but that kicker is it seems like every 2 or 3 plays, JCS goes to Mosley for some reason.
