Exactly Hooker was soft McCoy honestly should have beaten him....heck Hooker just lost this last weekend....McCoy hasn’t lost in years. And we all know DI is much tougher than DII...Plus Hooker didn’t wrestle anyone those years he won....McCoy had to go through the men of DI.

I thought that Brentwood and Damon Smith would win but I’m starting to hear that Brentwood won’t allow Father Ryan to stream the wrestling match. I’m not sure that mean Brentwood and Damon Smith are scared of Father Ryan but I have no idea why they wouldn’t allow the match to be steamed.

Stop making excuses for Father Ryan wrestlers. Everyone keeps giving them too much credit. Last year they got smashed by Brentwood at Father Ryan and they will smashed again this year. It proves to show you that Damon Smith is one of the best coaches in the state. He took a no name Brentwood team last year and smashed Father Ryan. I expect a similar result this year...no need to make excuses about exam schedule.

Alright Damon Smith has single handily turned around Brentwood like he did Father Ryan. When he was at Father Ryan they won multiple state titles at a unheard of pace for Ryan, and sent multiple wrestlers to college. Before he got there not many Ryan wrestlers went to wrestle in college. Then he goes to Brentwood and there we’re only like five guys on the team when he gets there and in a few short years they beat Father Ryan. His years of wrestling and being a part of a national championship team under John Smith can really be shown by all of the hardware and great wrestlers he coaches up everywhere he goes. Brentwood in a few years will be ranked in the country like Father Ryan was when he was there. Brentwood will be boot stomping their way to multiple state titles here shortly.

I know, that purple holy water must not be what it used to be anymore. Seems like the Simpson and the football coach Lussiur are drinking the same stuff. I'm sure with in a year or two the wrestling program will be on par with Father Ryan's football program. Because both seem to have the same qualities.....scared of competition.

Father Ryan was supposed to wrestle Christian Brothers this Sunday but then backs out at the last second. I'm wondering if the Father Ryan faithful aren't as really good as they want people to think this year and are afraid of a tough early season match up against the Brothers. I think this is an early indicator that Wilson central, Baylor, and the Brothers are going to 'upset' the Irish this year.

This post is classless Ensworth and Bowers have done so much for the community it’s not even funny. I also think that this MBA fan should look at his own school before pointing the finger at another. MBA has a lot of scandals in the last few years. IE the teacher having sex with students, MBA coaches paying players and some reason the TSSAA did nothing about it. This MBA fan is full of crap it’s just like MBA to post something like that.

I can confirm this report, supposedly Bruce’s contract is over this year and when they hired head offensive coordinator Mark Williams it was under the impression that Bruce would hand over the golden whistle to Mark when Bruce’s contact was finished. Because ever since Bruce has been a coaching the Irish they have always been in the bottom of the DII division. The only chance they have of winning a game is against terrible public school teams or awful DII teams they have never been competitive with BA, MBA, Ensworth, or Baylor (Mccallie most years). It’s time for some new blood.

Let’s be serious here. Science hill great program and everything but best in the team in the state far in public school is Cleveland. And in private school division it’s Father Ryan or Baylor you really can’t go wrong. Soddy Daisy used to have a good program but since the Turner brothers left the program has run dry. And between Father Ryan, Baylor, and Cleveland they all beat each other so it’s a tossup. But Father Ryan and Baylor have had the longest winning tradition in the state of winning championships as a team and have had more guys wrestling in college as of late than anyone. But Father Ryan has one of the better freestyle and greco programs in the state they go to fargo and they train with team ohio before they go. The freestyle coach now back at Father Ryan coached Tennessee's first fargo champ.

All I know is every year people think that Alcoa is going to get beat in Football and look what happens they have almost more than anyone in the state. The Football program is 110% behind the wrestling program with the head coach being the Head O-line coach on the football team. And I think before you know it (in a few years) Alcoa will be competing with the Father Ryan’s and Cleveland’s of the state. They will be getting out those football athletes to wrestle. They also have great coaching there in Alcoa that many people don’t know because they have former Baylor state champ Matthew Cate who is helping coach there. He has more wrestling credentials than over half of the coaches in the state. He was coached under legendary coach Jim Morgan at Baylor and knows what it takes to win a state title in wrestling. Along with the athletes at Alcoa produces in football (like NFL star Randal Cobb) and that kind of coaching Alcoa in a few years will be competing with the big dogs. And lastly everyone should drop the subject of Sammy Evan’s now!! He had every right to be eligible to wrestle (for personal family reasons that shouldn’t be addressed on a message board). That is why the TSSAA didn’t hesitate to make him eligible so fast and furthermore it’s not like he wasn’t born and raised in Alcoa.

Even if that is the case in recent years McCallie has had many years of outstanding wrestlers. Like first 5-time Tennessee State champ T.J. Duncan and NCAA All-American Cody Cleveland just to name a few. And if you were watching the match last year it was clearly a call in where McCallie got hosed by the referee. I think that Baylor will overlook McCallie and McCallie will win by six. Because in the head to head match ups McCallie gave Father Ryan a better match then Baylor did. But it will be a barn burner that I won't miss.

I heard that former Father Ryan Coach Damon Smith is going to try to revive a malnourished program at MBA that has seen brighter days. Smith has almost single handedly led many of Father Ryan teams to win state and I heard he is taking his leadership skills to the rival Big Red. This could be a huge boost to the MBA program and could start them on the right path to beat Father Ryan this year or the next. Because Smith has trained many great state champs like 3x Wes Wesley, 2x Tj Holmes, Cole Moseley wrestles at American, Mark Marchette and Patrick Marchette both wrestle and wrestled at West Point (also upcoming further champ Eli King). Coach Smith has a great ability to train wrestlers for the next level and win state championships. The rest of the state better watch out for MBA in the coming years.

I'm not sure Butch Jones should be looking for players at those programs this year. Both are down, BA lost to FRHS this year and McCallie is on a 4 game losing streak. Not saying BA hasn't put out great players in the past but this year they are down. And I'm not sure of any good McCallie players ever. Mccallie really hasn't had any good DI players, BJ was alright but he couldn't even start at UTK.

I'm not so sure about that. How much do you think those MBA football players were paying in tuition a few years ago? Between the checks from the coaches I'm willing to beat not so much. And to respond to our Brentwood Academy friend WesVLT hasn’t Brentwood academy been put on probation for paying players before like their friends in crime McCallie when they went on probation as well. I’m just looking at history and there’s no way you can tell me that all those school including Ensworth aren’t doing some things under the table to get better football players.

Oh I hate how when someone says something about how Ensworth isn’t doing things right and then somebody always says watch out for their lawyers. Just because you don’t agree with what I’m posting you don’t have to throw around meaningless threats about lawyers going after people on message boards. Because if that was the case there would be a thousands of people in jail over SEC and pro football.

Of course we can point out smart kids from every team. There are 80 kids on a roster odds are that a few of them have to be smart. But remember what they did to Antonio Richardson they milked all of the talent they could out of him before he had to leave cause of grades. But don't worry they fixed that problem. Because now (what a lot of people don’t know is that) if a good football player now at Ensworth can’t make the grades they will send him to a easier place like Nashville State to for some classes to get a higher GPA. That’s what they did with a certain former Vanderbilt player and look what happened to him.

what happened last week against ensworth? it wasn't even close it was an aweful performance by the guys in purple.

Ricky Bowers and Ensworth have killed Tennessee football as we know it. Because they basically say if you don’t spend millions of dollars on recruiting football players that you don’t have a shot at winning state. High school football because of Ensworth has been turned into a game about money instead about the kids having a good time. I bet you they don’t have one kid that starts for them that lives anywhere close to that school. And I’ll go even further than that and say they don’t have one starter that could even pay full tuition at Ensworth. Your thoughts?

I was just wondering if there is anybody from Tennessee that has a shot at placing at super 32? And if so who? Because Tn guys normally don't do well at this tournament.
