I largely agree with everything being said about Walker Valley'a offense. Very explosive. But they appeared to lose no less than five starters through the game against the Owls. Are those guys injured or availiable for the game Friday?
That's why you scrimmage against the best you can find. Bet we aren't talking about run defense if we scrimmage an average team. We were not the better the team, but you can't score it like a game when it's 10+ plays and switch.
I'd guess 4-2 with Blackman looking stronger overall. I think both squads walked away better afterwards. Ooltewah's offense is much better than last year. Defense will get better as the year goes, but is a year away from being SCARY again. Proud we tested ourselves tonight!
I'm not big on following "stars" but I do know that there are only a handful of 5 Stars in the entire country and you do not have two of them. Oak Ridge has a WR that is somewhere around a 4.5 Star depending on the service you use. Now you have 5 or 6 top tier TN players that are certainly in the 3 Star range and that's 5-6 more than we have now. We didnt have 3 Star players last year. Ooltewah will be extremely well coached and will play great football. I expect the same of Riverdale. The Warriors may be more talented player for player... But they were last year too and we had a great game. Don't be surprised if we don't have another classic in 5 weeks.
Haha hopefully we won't lose our starting QB and mismanage our Timeouts before halftime again! In all seriousness, we seemed to have had a great spring and summer is off to a strong start despite the obvious losses on defense.
Pretty accurate. From what I've heard about last year's JV and FR squad, the defense should be just fine overall. If the run game comes along, the Owls may be a lot better than anyone thinks. Personally, I love this region and am very excited to see the scrimmages in August.
Turnovers and lack of defensive urgency put Oak Ridge in a 17-0 hole against the Owls with Tee still 100%. It was a great game and a historic win for Ooltewah. A lot of excellent football players on the field that night. Best of luck to the Wildcats as they go through summer and regular season; hope we meet again!
