  1. Oh okay, might be a bunch of crap to throw a team off LOL.
  2. Is the Gillespie stuff true? DUI? Anyone can confirm?
  3. I'm not saying the field is super strong but getting beat by a private school team that won state not so bad (Goodpasture). Saw them in Memphis when they played ECS and they weren't bad at all.
  4. Gotcha, well in that case, you would be right. They might run into a few problems with East because they do play to mismatches. If they shoot the ball great, they might have a shot at East but East is pretty defensively when they want to be. They can switch every spot/every position on switches including Curry. That might cause some problems for Dobyns.
  5. Overton guards carry their them. Frison can get 25 when he's going and if going good, 30-40 points. Really good shooter, runs the show for them. Their other guard the other night I saw in a tweet hit 9 3-pointers. He's had big games for them this year but none like that. They have a big inside, good size kid and he can play too, step out and make shots too. They kinda athletic with their wing guy, he can play over the rim and hit the 3 ball. They can shoot you out of a game but also shoot themselves out of a game too. They can play a little reckless at times but if they playing well, they can beat anyone at the state. They beat East for the district title by double digits and put up over 100 points in sub state game. They aren't deep though but it hasn't been a problem much so I don't see that hurting them to much for the state.
  6. East doesn't have a ton of length at all...their biggest guy is Alijah Curry, after that, a freshman who is 6'5. That's pretty much it. Curry has played well over the last few months but hasn't been himself in the last 2 games. Their guards have carried the load, one in particular. He can really score!
  7. East is pretty good my good, they just couldn't beat Bartlett because they just didn't have he depth and experience that Bartlett has. East 2 best guys are sophomores but they will be back next year for sure, that's if things go there way because Bartlett will be good again next year too.
  8. Power Center Academy first time in the state tournament, they can be a handful for any team in the field. They have a good pg, some height, skilled height, both can step out and they beat the favorite (Douglas) according to some. They came back down from 10 with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. They have a 6'3 guard next to the pg too that can play. If both their 2 6'6 guys play well and don't fall in love with shooting 3s, they can make a run.
  9. They are going to find out soon LOL but Beech won't be a push over but I still got Bartlett by double digits.
  10. Memphis City Schools is now the SCIAA. They changed a few years ago. The landscape has changed a bit though especially with more and more kids going to municipal (county) schools and the private school side now. If it wasn't for Covid, Amar Knox and the the leading scorer in Memphis or 2nd leading scorer would have been at Central. Covid hurt the inner city schools in Memphis bad and they will take awhile to recover probably. East is probably the best inner city school right now but their academics have changed and it's more of a stem school now so it's hard to get into and they can't get transfers much because if you not there as a 9th grader, you probably won't get in unless you get in their mechanic program that they have. It's tough to get in East. Melrose was good this year in 3A but got upset by Bolton who was a 4 seed the first game out of district play in regionals. White Station, Central, Ridgeway, Soutwhind and similar schools have all taken dives as basketball programs. Still lot of talent though and the 8th grade class is a monster!!
  11. MAHS has athletes but not a lot ton of shooting on that team but if they turn you over, Robertson won't stand a chance but if they making shots, Robertson, they can make that game interesting. MAHS is aggressive and will go for the knock out blow early if they sense that Robertson guards are shaky. They made the title game last year and this year, they might have a chance to do it again and they have done it without maybe their best overall player if not best, 2nd best player, Cameron, I forgot his last name. He enrolled early at UT for football in January and didn't play at all this year. Coach Watkins does a good job with what the group he has and they play hard for him.
  12. Bartlett and East are not similar. Bartlett deeper and more talented and longer than East. East was young this year and not very deep only going about 6 sometimes 7 deep. Bartlett can go 10-12 deep and can throw, 6'8, 6'5, 6'6, 6'6 and 6'10 at you if Javar Daniels is good to go. The difference between them and East was depth and experience. Jacobs is pretty good at the pg for them, they have shooting with Regale Moore and Charvez Ambrose and defensively, they can pressure you and if you wanna get into an up and down game, they can do that too. I like the Eli Rice kid from Beech but unless he goes crazy, like 30-40, I think Bartlett wins that game by double digits.
  13. Henderson has never been successful anywhere.....Wooddale, Trezevant, Southwest....I can't see him doing that great there...but we will see.
  14. Let's just say it was inappropriate...your imagination should tell you where I'm going
  15. Collierville was going to be pretty decent. They added one transfer from Arlington, their starter guard, about 5'10 that can shoot a little bit. They lost their best guy but were going to be kinda long too this year. Tough break for those kids especially finding out the real story behind him leaving...their coach. They definitely covered it up, why he got let go but on to the next for Collierville.
  16. White Station may come in last this year, sounds crazy but they have really really fell off. Kingsbury or them but Kingsbury does have 2 guys who can play. White Station best player I'm hearing is trying to leave because he knows it's going to be a long year.
  17. Kingsbury won't but Overton won't be bad at all. They have Jordan Frison, little guard that can score it, Isaiah, the 6'7 athletic kid another 6'5 kid and two more kids over 6'5, one a transfer from Germantown. Not saying they going to win anything but they won't be a pushover. Regular is a top 10 ish type kid in 2022 when his head on straight.
  18. Wooddale won't be bad, especially in their league...no one outside of Hamilton will be any good from what I've heard and seen.
  19. Not me..I said you were slick racist for "you people" comments and always bringing in up "dems" but continue...Oh. Houston won too..they haven't taken it away yet..
  20. Now that's classy of you to say!
  21. State Champions!! 18 out of 21 years in Triple A..coming home to Memphis..
  22. Houston no where near a monster team..lot of flaws!! Teams up here just cant exploit them..
  23. MAHS hasn't bent any rules...yall to funny..everyone cheats if they from Memphis..that narrative is old and demeaning to the kids who are there from Memphis...I guess Memphis don't work hard as the rural counties smh...Coach Watkins lost a son last yr..Im happy as ever for him..he deserves this
  24. Cville froze up..expected more..they played Houston to a 5 pt gm in the 3rd...up 18..very disappointing for them...but good season
