  1. Congrats to Ingle and the boys. I'm disappointed at Coach Rankin with his remarks at halftime and post game. I think he threw his kids under the bus and never took responsibility. Good luck to the Alcoa seniors and their future endeavors.
  2. Gotta watch out for this RedRobin. He's a special type of Clown. Thinks he's better and above everyone else because he has an assigned parking spot next to Bowers. Problem is he's no better than anybody else and it just eats at him.
  3. Here's just one from the thread "Ricky Bowers has killed football in TN" thread. There are many, many others like it:
  4. So when people make the same allegations (which they do) on the DII about your private school, you don't sit back and take it. I read your posts. When people taunt you about when are you going to knock off Ensworth and why you folks get what you deserve, you fire right back with "it's all envy and jealousy generated hate" and "if my neighbor had a Lexus, I wouldn't throw rocks at it just because I don't have one". No sir. You are no different. When you are constantly attacked, you bite back. No different.
  5. I'm not a CPA basketball supporter. Never been to one game. Don't care for the coach and I do agree that there is at least a severe problem of perceptions even if no rules have been broken. That problem of perception has been publicly ignored by the administration instead of being addressed. There are many CPA parents who detest the basketball program and don't support it just like me. So, don't think this is a deep rooted people problem at the school. Everyone is well aware of it. Having said that, my problem here is with a former coach who was fired and a decade later still persists on a public forum. A true man would better himself and move on. Truthfully, if you didn't agree with his point of view about one coach at CPA, would you still agree with his methods? The incecent whining and complaining wouldn't be tollerated if so many people didn't hate CPA because of the basketball program.
  6. Sorry you feel that way. Best of luck to you.
  7. Who cares what you think. You would befriend anyone who shares your hateful and costic views on HS basketball and people in general. That means you have no principles. But at least you know how to run the shell drill. Be gone troll.
  8. I couldn't care less if CPA basketball and Maddux come, stay, lay or pray. Don't care in the least and never will. If fans and haters alike want to unload on both, then go right ahead. That's your right to speak your opinion. What I do find sub-human is grown men who are personally miffed getting on a public board and crying over what happened 10 years ago. Real men let go, get over it and move on with life. Brooks displays psychotic tendencies by the way he's conducted himself here and elsewhere. Would you want him around your kid all day? Does anyone wonder why he hasn't coached at all since he was fired at CPA? Could part of it be for reasons you see here? What kind of man acts like this? He says he's here "to set the record straight". For 10 years?? No, his problem is that he can't get over the fact that he failed in his life and got fired. Instead of getting up, correcting his mistakes and making himself a better man like most of us would, he wallows in his own vomit and drags others down with him. He's the kind of person you hope your kids don't grow up to be like. And then there are active elders of "The Church" who openly engage in scriptural hypocrisy (Matthew 7:21-23). Who would risk their eternal soul over basketball?? If it's that important, take your kid to Lipscomb or Franklin HS where they put no emphasis on talent or coaching and where the cheerleaders lead the team in rebounding.
  9. You don't have a clue what it means to develop someone from the time they are 12 years old to when they graduate HS. How long did you play basketball and for which college? Nonetheless, it's you perogative to get on here and gripe and I support your right to do so. But it's these "grown men" who get on here and whine and cry because life didn't turn out like they wanted. All these years of gripping and bitching and what has it gotten Brooks and Rulefollower (the Church elder)?? A segment on 60 minutes? A special story on Outside the Lines on ESPN? A Kennedy Center honor? Anything? Nope. There's a reason why Brooks hasn't had a coaching job in a decade. He got canned at CPA because of whatever reason and he's not man enough to accept it and move on. It's that easy.
  10. Brooks verbally berated and abused his coaching staff and players during more than one occurence while at CPA. He lost the confidence of his team and employer and was fired. As for Maddux, I'm personally no fan of his although he is a very good coach, has the respect of his players, develops his players and wins games. Is it any wonder that parents and players from far away want to play for him? If your son or daughter had the talent to be developed by a highly sucessful and respected coach, wouldn't you want that opportunity for them? That's it really and it's nothing new going on. Parents want the best for their kids and if they have a chance to succeed by going to a private school to a coach with a proven track record of getting players scholarships, wouldn't you do all you could do to make that happen? Sure you would. Now, Brooks will reply to this and say that parents moving their kids to CPA or any other school because they have a chance to be better players and college players some day is nonsense. But he has to say that. If he agreed with it, he would also be agreeing with the fact that Maddux is a far better coach than him. And that's the only reason he's here in the first place. He just can't get over the fact that he got wacked because he wasn't good enough.
  11. I was impressed with CPA's team speed on defense too. Nothing gets to the corners. Osborne is a great all around player.
  12. Giles had no answer for CPA's run game. End of story. CPA played well in all phases of the game. As usual, this will be GCHS's springboard to C'ville. Good luck the rest of the way to the Bobcats.
  13. I have a lot of respect for GCHS with the way they played last season to get to Cookeville. This game will partly hinge on GCHS's ability to stop the run, which I think they may be able to do. Where is Rock??
