  1. The whole last few comments are just sad. This has been a decent forum with decent people, now it is a sad attempt to cut each other down.
  2. And, the same to you ryan665 - your insights have been very good, very honest and very appreciated by me. I am SUPER COMPETITIVE and not very patient with some of the kids of today, so yes, I comment on them, probably too much, but, I do not understand the idea in their heads that they are entitled to have things handed to them on a silver platter, so yes, I get disgusted. BUT, I also tell the kids exactly how their laziness affects their lives. So everything I have said, I say to the kids as well. And, I know everything is not in one persons control, but a multitude of people and I am sure most are doing the best they can. Your kid is a good player and I feel sure she will help her team in college. Will be pulling for her. Good luck to her and to your family!!!!!
  3. Yep, you are right, wrongway, the season is over for this District. Some things to looks back on and hopefully correct in this District - but first people have to know they screwed up and admit it before it can be fixed, so that is the big issue. One thing, I hope Warren can fix the assaults on players from other teams. I hope they fix the 8 inch hump where the dirt meets the grass on the field. I hope Warren fixes their attitudes as parents and players. I hope Cookeville fixes the better than thou attitude they seem to have. I hope Cumberland fixes their pitchers who pick and choose their games, it cost them a lot of games during the season. Oh, Cumberland will not be in this district next year, but it won't be any easier for them in there new district. I hope White gets rid of the older man assistant coach who always acts mad and disgusted. And I hope they can find some hitters who can score and not leave over 100 runners on base. I hope Stone can get some players. Not a lot of athletes there. I am glad the Rhea center fielder is graduating and going to Memphis, because she is very good. But, I hope they lose some of their attitude as well. Not a nice bunch. Mostly attitude needs to go. Thet is jus to coaches, so we will see. I don't look for a lot of changes, but you never know. Anyway, I'm off to watch the Region Championship!!! Go Tigers!!!!!!!
  4. First of all, wrongway, if you are referring to me about common sense or huge brain capacity, then say it. Don't just sit on your pockets and say, "you don't show any" , without referring to someone. I have made many comments and have not backed down from anyone. Believe me, I KNOW how things were run in this tournament, thats the problem. BUT, I KNOW HOW TOURNAMENTS are supposed to be run. I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WARREN COUNTY, most of the people there are incredible, but also some of the parents and students from Warren County Softball have been ridiculous and with the comments from the students to the Cookeville girls on the field, by the way, the students were REMOVED by A SCHOOL OFFICIAL for their sexual comments toward the girls. Those students deserve to be arrested for that talk. If that had been my kid doing the talking he would have been, with no support from me, except he would have been my kid. There is no room for this talk on any level. NOW, GET THIS IN YOUR HEAD - I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WARREN COUNTY, I just don't like Warren County Softball - too much attitude. Crying shame you get hyper about someone saying you or whoever didn't run the tournament correctly, but you don't envy try and figure out about the VERBAL ABUSE the kids got during a game. PRETTY SAD TO ME - YOUR PRIORITIES.
  5. Obviously, wrongway, you can't read, because your comments are just stupid - none of my kids were shafted. I am not mad, I just tell it like it is and I know the tournament was poorly run! I don't give a crap how White Co does not how Warren does - neither mean anything to me, but if you had read my post you would have known that. i haven't started digging a hole yet because my comments are true and people who have been at the games know what I say is true but they don't have the balls to say it themselves. And, speaking Chinese is boring, I would rather speak German and Italian and by the way you seem to read you have trouble understanding English. So good luck on your next post.
  6. Wrongway, I find it hard to read your opinion - we all have an opinion, some are just total butts and that is what I find in yours. But, that being said, do not tell me I don't know what I am talking about on most subjects here, I have more knowledge than you in one of the hairs on my fingers. The TOURNAMENT WAS RUN POORLY. PERIOD. I know all about having to have the tournament completed, but MOST other Districts started their tournament on Saturday or Sunday, after the rains on Friday. Both days were great and the ground had plenty of sun to dry and be ready to play. So those districts were completed in plenty of time, no game played at midnight. Three games could have been played on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday, but no this district was cancelled on Friday and then, I guess the coaches were so tired they needed their golf day or their day to sit around and think! Which, the latter would not have happened. The tournament "people" can and have used every EXCUSE in the books for this debacle. And, knowing you are from Warren, you would not KNOW POOR UMPIRES, because you had all the good calls all Tournament long. Now, before you go stupid, again, I am not from Cookeville, either, but the calls I watched EVERY GAME, those umpired know exactly what they did, with their looks and smirks at the fans each time an INTERFERENCE CALL should have gone against Warren. Were they coached to INTENTIONALLY RUN OVER FIELDERS - I DON'T KNOW on that, but, that is what it looked like. AND, Warren Coach never left the field, at any time of any game. He was allowed to stand on the field and not be the dugout EVER. So another rule broken that the umpires allowed. And, Whites coaches took all day to get a pitch call in, but Warrens took, and yes, I couldn't it, an average of 27 seconds to get the call into the catcher. Again, another broken rule. They do not have that long to get the pitches in. And, I didn't count the number of batters leaving the base BEFORE the pitchers released the ball. I do, however, remember seeing 7 from Warren. BUT, in one game, yes, the Warren and White game, one of Whites players came off of first and the umpire, for some reason saw this and jumped on it, called her out, only to be told by the White coach, the girl in the circle was not even the pitcher, so he had to tuck and run on that one. As far as you STUPID SIGNS, good for your sponsors and for you all getting money for your season, you would have thought you all would have cut the grass for the tourney, or you could have gotten rid of the 8 inch lip from dirt to grass. Believe me, when you get to Chattanooga, none of these things will be seen or called, and if Riverdale and Waverly whipped you 9-0, boy, you all will come running home and talk about next year, once again. Warren County had fans at the Cookeville - Warren games on Thursday that CUSSED the players while on the field. YES, I heard it as well as many others - a school official even had to go to the left side and remove those fans/studens who were yelling and CUSSING the whole game, then they moved to the right side of the field and continued. Talk about some of the men standing up during the game next to the bleachers, absolute morons. I call them Trump Bullies, because that is exactly how they acted. I disagree on being evenly matched with Cookeville - Warren is a better team with stronger players, but the difference is pure attitude and Cookeville had the better attitude. Cookeville fans are also crazy fans, but I did not heard cussing from any student, parent or fan. And, as for the All District Regular Season, most selections were ok, but, totally out of whack. I KNOW all about the last place team having one, fifth place has two, 4th has three and so on - I know that, but to choose the outstanding pitcher of the year from the first place team because they are the first place team is stupid. I was sitting next to Warren's coach as he was talking to his assistant and heard him say, in his own words, the White Co pitcher is the BEST PITCHER in this DISTRICT. YES, I heard this and another man sitting next to me heard it - we talked about it when Warren Coaches left, so to do that to a kid who has pitched her heart out as the only pitcher on that team is horrible. But lets "give" it to Warren because they are the number one team. Now, once again, don't get crazy on this, I am not from White County either. But, as we all said after the All District was announced, well, it is in Warren and why should it matter, the White pitcher is off to College ball so screw the selection committee/coaches, who evidently did not have the marbles to do the right thing. SO, YES, POOR RUN TOURNAMENT and unreal how so many people in charge were marble less..
  7. Ryan665, I see where you have respected my opinion, but no longer. While, I have respected your opinion, but have not agreed on every statement. I find it odd, that I have ALWAYS said exactly what I thought - do no mince words with any topic and say exactly as I feel. While I am sorry you completely disagree with me, that is fine. We are grown adults and do not agree on most subjects, but I still respect your and others opinions, but do not always agree. Thus, I do not change my status on respecting your opinion. High school sports come with the most heated parents and the most stupid of coaches - some are very good, most are absolutely ridiculous. I HATE LAZY, I HATE ATTITUDE, and do not have an issue with saying I hate it! I also HATE UMPIRES who give home cooking and are lazy calling the game correctly. They are making a butt load of money and are too LAZY to get the game right. I understand missed calls on the bases, but not MISSED NO CALLS for the home team or the visiting team. I HATE COACHES who think they know this GREAT GAME and we have a lot of those in this game, but refuse to try and learn more about it or will not take advise from a COLLEGE COACH. I also HATE PARENTS who only yell for their kid and not the team as a whole. So, there are things I hate and there are things I like - which are people who are passionate about this game. Passions are running high right now. First of all, Warren has a good team - yes, good, but not great. They have had a good team for the last couple of years and seem to falter toward the end of the season. When they go out of this district to play, they are beaten soundly. But, all of this district is the same, can not compete in another district of Class AAA. Cookeville, is good, not great, but improved over the course of the year. The others are just the others. Theee or four good players and believe me nothing else. But, this years district tournament was not organized. Really, playing at midnight for a game. I guess, the weekend, with sunny weather and perfect softball weather was not good enough for us to play ball. What a crock to put that much on a team on the final day to get this thing in. Absolutely ridiculous. As for the signs, I understand sponsors make the softball season for these teams, but honestly not being able to sit down the sideline is horrible and to gripe about a sign being moves is crazy. Make the bleachers so a senior citizen can go up them, I mean they are hard for a 30 year old to climb those bleachers. My parents would have loved to sit on the bleachers, but it wasn't possible. As for for the NO CALLS on interference on the runners - WARREN IS THE ONLY TEAM WHO WAS NOT CALLED FOR RUNNING OVER FIELDERS SO THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE PLAY. Odd how Rhea was called for it, for for some reason, Umpires never say it when Warren played. Now, calls will be missed, but not blatantly running over a kid trying to make a play. So, for that is is unacceptable in any game, high school, college or the pros. ODD how Warren won both of those games by two runs, exactly what they scored off the NO CALL. Sportsmanship is just sportsmanship and every team has a team they hate. So nobody will ever give credit to that team. But, the catcher from Warren elbowed on purpose, a batter walking out of the batters box to the dugout. OBVIOUS Elbow on three occasions. I call that reason to put out of a game. The center from Rhea has a horrible attitude, yes, I know she is going to Memphis. I would bypass her for someone else if I were recruiting again, the third and catcher from White have horrible attitudes. So a couple to show the attitudes, but there are more.
  8. KARMA is a witch. AND, KARMA came back to Warren last night. HOME COOKING may have helped them in two games in the tourney, but in the end KARMA. As I said earlier, HOME COOKING gave Warren two BIG RUNS when the UMPIRES said they did not see the Warren runner flip White Co short and NO CALL got Warren the game. And last night HOME COOKING gave WARREN, AGAIN, TWO BIG RUNS from a NO CALL on a WARREN interference. So, at least FOUR RUNS because the HOME UMPS didn't "see" the interference on either game. Not sure how that happened when the field ump was looking straight at the play. I guess a Pioneer fell out of the sky and blocked his vision. REAL CONVENIENT for Warren. BUT, in the END, KARMA! Warren loses by TWO - PERFECTLY FITTING! I think Cookeville showed who was the better team - better attitudes, better sportsmanship, better team coaching. This years tournament was the poorest run tournament I have seen in a long time in high school sports. How is it possible for the Championship game to be playing until midnight. Pathetic organization, and so glad to get an 8.5 X 11 inch printed piece of paper that somebody laminated. WHOOP WHOOP for the Regular Season ALL DISTRICT. That must have taken them back a dollar or two. Ain't gonna matter in the long run, neither team will not do anything in the Region. But, KARMA always comes back!
  9. ABSOLUTELY AGREE on SOME OF THE DISTRICTS REGULAR SEASON PICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have sat through this District and one of the other District's play this year, having cousins in two districts, but what I have seen is this: Warren does have good players, but attitude should be included in the All District selection and there are two who made it from Warren who have absolute horrible attitudes. One, I witnessed intentionally elbowing batters as they were walking back to the dugout!!! Umpire stood and watched - did nothing. I was surprised with Warren's selections. Rhea Co deserved the Most Valuable Player, I think. Center is very good, good hustle, good running the bases, just all around good pick and Memphis has a good one for the next four years. Cumberland, I too agree with Momofoneplayer. The pitcher DID NOT EVEN PITCH half of their games. One of those pick and chose players. That in no way deserves a District mention. I thought the catcher was a good choice, and I also thought the first baseman should have gotten it. White had three players who deserved it, pitcher for sure, best in the district; short and centerfield. But only pitcher and short. Other than than no one on this team deserves it. Stone, I can understand their choice. And, wrongway, I completely understand how you are feeling. TOO MANY COACHES do not do the right thing and it is pathetic. I don't know your daughter, but I do know Warren did not chose the girls who have performed all season. But, to be honest, I will be COMPLETELY satisfied when I don't watch another high school game with the coaches I have been around, and hoped it would be this year over next year. I have seen unbelievable bias on the coaches part and on the umpire part. I have been around coaches who would not take advice from college coaches, thinking they knew more - I have been around coaches calling pitches who do not have any idea how to call a game - only inside and outside pitches when their pitchers have worked with pitching coaches who have players in the pros, and they know how to throw rises, drops, curves, changes, but stupid is the high school coach who only knows fastballs. It is unacceptable to believe this great game is still getting this crap for coaches and umpires. And, it is unacceptable that the kids who work so hard, are getting crapped on by these stupid coaches, as evident with some of the picks for All District.
  10. Missed last nights game, but heard Cumberland and White put on a show! Would like to have seen this one, been looking for a pitchers duel and I heard that was it. But tonights games with Rhea and Cookeville will be a classic!!! Can't wait for this one. Cookeville has good coaching and always good fundamentals. Never fail to bring good knowledge of the game. Rhea has incredible speed and have gotten better over the season. They have probably the best infield in the district. So, this is looking to be a great game!!! And, Warren playing White. I just don't see Warren losing this one. They are just an overall good team in the district. White is so much more improved, so much more a fundamentally sound team from last year, but still don't see them winning. I think I am going with Warren and Rhea in the finals.
  11. I agree to some level on these choices, but just like howdydoall says, players should be rewarded because of their play for the season, not one or two games for the All District. Ryan665 is right on Rhea and their centerfielder, she is very good and has tremendous speed, but White also has a centerfielder who is right there with Rhea's. She is as fast and a tremendous arm as well. Cookeville's pitcher is ok, but come on, Warren and White's is much better. Cookeville catcher is pretty good though. Rhea's infield is looking really good, don't get much second and short, for sure. Not sure on some of the others, I have seen some of the games, but spent more time watching another district.
  12. Looks like nobody is undefeated now in this district, with Warren getting beat by Rhea Co. Was a good game between the two, but Rhea has so much speed on the bases and Warren couldn't seem to do much with them. Rhea's coach is the real deal. I talked with the coaches after the game - Rhea is coming on and peaking at the right time, better look out for them in the district. Good game overall. Lots of hustle by both teams, no laziness, just how I like to see a game. Now it is district time and we will see what happened. This is a weak district overall and I think it is proven to be weak by how our top teams go out and play other districts lower teams and get drilled, so not looking forward to region play, but we will sent two teams, just which two.
  13. GREAT Video and Great Story from Pros on Softball is for Girls on Facebook about players who are entitled, have No Accountability and do not have a work ethic. Great READ for those who do not agree with a player being held accountable. TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many times we all take up for someone who is entitled and don't try to fix the problem. I try to fix the problem, do you?
  14. Congratulations on a huge game for you, wrongway!!!!! They are the best overall team in this District. I got to see this one and they were a ten steps better all night. And they didn't just hit the ball they drilled it all night. They looked like a team on a mission.
  15. I AGREE 100% howdydoall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have watched White play as well and totally agree! I have also seen Cumberland and agree on first and catcher. Two good ones there! Gettin down to the wire and Warren has this district wrapped up - Cookeville will be second and Rhea should be third. From there, Cumberland, White and Stone. Really won't matter in the tournament, don't think any will get by the region teams.
