Its a combination of things. Coach Maynard was a proven coach when he came to Smith County. He also was principal which helped more than anyone will admit. I fully believe he knew that our line talent was going to be down for years. The new coaching staff has had to deal with many injuries and numbers have been down which has led to four very average football seasons. Can they turn it around?? I think we win the district next year because it's a big senior class with two of the best playmakers in the region. After next year will tell the story.

I think SC can score on Stone by getting our two athletes out in space but we probably can't stop them running the ball. Stone wins this one.

I agree.....we never made defensive adjustments and if we don't get the run defense fixed it will be ugly Friday against Stone.

Opinions are a great thing... I believe 6 and number 3 both have the size, speed and skill to play at some size D-1 program. They both are juniors and are improving and getting stronger by leaps. But my main point is there the two best athletes on our side and not used in four downs.

Congrats to DC hope Jennings knee is nothing serious but did not look good. I give MVP to your back up QB who came in and never missed a beat. Thumbs down to us not making defensive adjustments and also for running our QB four times from the 5 yard line when we have two D-1 athletes and multiple missed extra points!

Most of the SC starters are Juniors that has a lot of experience. Not many seniors is true but to say they are all young like freshman I don't see. We have 2 freshman getting some playing time with one starting that I am aware.

The two wins DC has over SC in the Jennings era have been from spreading the field getting defense out of the box and him running not from throwing. SC has the two best pure athletes on either team but they don't touch the ball every play. I think it comes down to pressure on DC QB and turnovers. Game is a toss up but Go Owls!

This is a much needed win for SC having DC and Stone coming up. I think Owls take by 2 TD. LA having a rough year but SC better bring it.

Unless SC has some major injuries I see no reason why we are not a playoff team. Region is down and in my opinion not more than 10 point difference in first versus fifth team. SC has a good chance in every game remaining with exception of Stone. We have two of the best pure athletes in King and Shepherdson in the region. They make everyone around them much better. Best part is there back next year. SC should be favored to win it all next year.
