  1. Would be very much looking forward to this match-up if some of our injured defense were back on the field....especially Parks, but, if I understand correctly that's not going to happen. Hope both teams can avoid injuries and much luck to Fairview on the rest of their season.
  2. Interesting...I don't see any of our "November deer eaters" trolling your threads...could be that you might be a little curious about something?
  3. Nothing to report from Hickman, RedRage....since this is our first year to have a football team...maybe we will find enough boys to actually get 11 on the field at the same time. Don't give our Dawgs a second thought....
  4. How have the Bulldogs performed in the 7 on 7s? Haven't heard much so far.
  5. Well Hickmanfan, I think we found a live one!
  6. No shame in the facilities tradertwo...I believe Hickman will be coming to your town this year? We look forward to having new teams to compete against and new neighbors to meet. We are all there for the kids and great football. Visitors understand that some programs are newer than others...on the bright side you will have nice, new everything sooner rather than later.
  7. I'm hoping that this is a completely different team for Hickman this year...new attitude, new strategy, new uniforms, new focus, another new face on the coaching staff. Can't believe it, but I am agreeing with FBHighway on this part...new year...let's roll! I could care less who did what last year...who was better, who had injuries, which concession stand had the best popcorn...all very irrelevant.
  8. I agree that this season should have more of a fun element given that there are three new teams to play against and new talent to watch. The team that thinks they have all the answers and gets comfortable and lazy prior to any game will be the team that looks foolish when the lights go out for the night. Coaches better stay on their toes and have their teams ready for hard fought battles each and every week.
  9. Palk is a fine player. Athletic, highly skilled, and always plays hard and that certainly won't change this year. There is plenty of talent within each region. When folks start understanding that what happened last year or 5 years ago is history and there are new coaches growing into their positions, and the baton has been passed to new players, we will actually be able to have some interesting volleys on this site. Competition is fierce, everyone's boys are working hard and ready to start this season officially. Who cares who was better last year, or which running back was faster, which QB threw the most passes...if they graduated, then they are gone. I won't be paying to see the graduated players sitting in the stands this season. I'll be paying to watch the boys on the field. Milan straight up provided us a spanking last year...and if I remember correctly, it wasn't the first time. New year, new season, new region, new competitors, new schedule. Just keepin' it relevant.
  10. Yep, I think Robert Mays was the QB during the 1984 season. Good memory you have.
  11. I thought True graduated in 83 or 84?...pretty sure he graduated prior to May 1985...don't think he was on the 1984 team, but could be wrong
  12. This should be an interesting season for sure. Large senior class, loaded with size and strength to take care of the line both ways. A very talented junior class that has a valuable year of experience under their belts. The key to this year's success will be pure strategy on Harrison's part. He has decent talent at most all positions...just needs to design O & D plans to compliment. Team seems more committed than the last few years and has strong leaders in Ward and Parks. It seems to be all business for them. The team is eager for the chance to bust thru the third round ceiling. This group of seniors have already been there twice...third time's a charm?
  13. All seniors last season were not starters...in fact, several of the Sr. starters were riddled with injuries so didn't play a large part of the season. OL and DL are in tact...didn't lose any Qback Talent...most of the upcoming seniors have been starters or have had significant play time since Freshman year. Zero ego and a very committed mentality this year. Working hard for each other and the team.
  14. I like the way you think UCM! Let the Big Dawgs eat!
