  1. Best player from Marion Co that most will know is Eric Westmoreland. All State and Mr Football. 3 state championships in 2A (1) and in 3A (2). 2 SEC Championships at TN and All American 2nd team. Won 1998 National Championship with the Vols and drafted in 3rd round.

Most won't remember Eddie Brown played for Marion before going on to Tennessee and becoming an All American. Drafted into the NFL and was a 2 time Pro Bowler. Led the NFL in punt ret yds in 76 and in kick returns 77. 8 career interceptions with 1 in the Super Bowl. Kids these days don't know the history of some of the players.

  2. Congratulations to the Pirates. (Pains me to say that lol)

Those young men fought through a lot of adversity during the season and deserve all they've accomplished. You could see a difference in the kids this year than last years game. They wanted it more. A lot of hard work accomplished that and my hats off to you and the staff and community for their support too.

    Congratulations

Protective?? Of what? Losing me on women talk too kinfolk. You must be using that big brain thinking you know more than you really do again. I will dismiss myself from this ignorance for the night before I somehow get sucked into some Warrior Pirate fued. Enjoy your friends backside though. Hopefully you will relieve him of some stress. I’m just keeping it real

Lost me on that one Shyrone. You seem to be a good stress reliever. Just keeping it real

I think y’all two are the ones using each other’s back door. Might even have a profile picture South Pitts coaches hanging on the wall while your knocking. I’m just keeping it real

Being awfully protective it seems. That's a good woman there. Not many like you anymore. Keep on keepin it real hun

Lol seem kinda sensitive with your response but thanks for the history lesson but honestly none of that stuff effects Marion. I’ve seen several post in other threads talking about the Twins and recruiting. Has nothing to do with Roy so no dice there kinfolk. Greenback and South Pitt trash talk is Greenback and South Pitt. Has zero to do with Marion County winning games. Earlier in year several including you were chiming in about transfers, rent or coaches being Roy etc but I guess that’s none of my business either. Even in your response you take another shot at South Pitt so are your sure it’s MC in their head kinfolk? I could care less about y’all’s rivalry. I believe you guys have a chance to take a step fwd or backward next year but that offense needs to go. #8 was player and wasn’t involved much. I personally don’t get the childish stuff between the fans bickering about another team that should be irrelevant to the other. Carry on though kinfolk. I’m just keeping it real

You could care less but here you are continually posting stuff. Seems you do care. It's pretty obvious you actually don't know much about the rivalry because that's just the way it is.

    Just keepin it real.

    Still.

Question for y’all kinfolks. Why is Marion always worried about South Pittsburg? I always see you guys moaning about South Pitt getting players. Y’all need to worry about Marion and eat that humble pie H2O gave you because it won’t get any easier next year with what all Watertown has coming back. Marion better find another play caller then find a new offense because the game I saw y’all won’t get where your going running that. Talking to one guy at the game though it sounded like your best year after this one might be 2023. Was told it might be better class than any of the 3 that went to state. That’s a lot to live up to but you need to worry about yourself instead of your kinfolks down the road. After some of the success y’all had a few years back your program should be better than that. I hope y’all can figure it out though. Some good folks down that way. I’m just keeping it real

Your reading comprehension is about as good as your game prognostications. Ain't nobody worried about them boys down south. TTP just taking a shot at Roy for bumpin his gums. I guess you forgot who cried the most on these boards about people getting players a few years back. (Ask them Greenback fellers if they can remember. I'm sure they could jog your memory for you.) I can remember us having a qb who played here all his life and transferred to AL his junior year but decided to come back home his senior season. Tore some sp people up. They were talking about a 25 mile rule being broken (not sure what that even is). Tried to get his dad to take him to Signal Mtn to play because they were a better team. Yeah I said Signal Mtn

We own that loss to Watertown no problem. The offense will adjust to the players on the field next year. The offense this year was lights out until the best athlete on the field gets hurt on the 2nd play of the last regular season game. It wasn't the same after that. MC should have pretty stout teams for the next 4 or 5 years at least.

No Marion fans on the 2022 1A thread but already got a few sp people on the 2A thread. Who's worried about who? I would say we are living "rent free" in their heads but that's a very touchy subject for them. Yep reckon so :roflol:

    Just keepin it real too

You people add new faces and still flop every single year better get you a coach in there that can coach worth a flip.

What new ones have we added in the past few years? Probably not an argument you would want to be in.... :roflol:

Marion depends on what changes are made to the offense.  Same offense,  same 2nd rd exit.  The pieces are there.

Offense is changing I'm told. May be some new faces on the roster with a coaching change in the valley.

I can easily see why you thought the way you did, some really good teams in region 3 and 4. Now as far as that feeling good down 20 to 8 against Trousdale, I wasn't feeling so great. lol

It's easier to think that without having the stress of it being your team. I just knew Hampton had moved the ball well all night and should have gotten those late TDs earlier. TC was a very good team though. Enjoy everything this weekend. Lots of hard work got you guys there. (As well as all the other teams that made it)

Going to be some great weather for December football.

Its been a given since the 1st of the season that region 1 and 2  was nothing more than a speed bump for the top teams in region 3 and 4.  Wasn't Trousdale people but others in those regions picking Trousdale to whip us like a tied monkey.  This Monkey don't whoop that easy,  At least the Westview faithful and not on here trashing our team. I said last week that Trousdale was being very respectful whether they believed it or not.  We don't really care what anyone believes, Were not coming down there for a photo op, it won't take but a few plays to figure that out.  Its no secret were playing a fine team  but we think we're another one.

At the beginning of the season I thought a region 3 or 4 team would be in Chattanooga but after watching Hampton vs Oneida I had a different perspective. I watched the Trousdale game and knew that Hampton would be ok down 20-8. Hamptons size and the way they just run the ball down your throat I don't believe anyone in region 3 or 4 could have beat them honestly. Sometimes it's just your time to be the top dog and this year was Hamptons.

I remember the first time we played you guys....when we came to Jasper and y'all commenced to thumping us he was gonna be good. The next year when y'all went to TC and he put on a show I knew the kid was very special at that point. Congrats to him!!! I enjoy telling people I watched such studs in high school football lol.

He definitely had a good game that year at TC. I remember one poster saying he ran like he was mad at the ground lol. He's a good young man.

Congratulations to former warrior Jacob Saylers on his East TN State win today over Western Carolina. He had 19 carries for 266 yards and 3 TD's. Great Young Man.

He set a program record today. Proud of him!

Well I’m proud of the Jasper kids that played hard all season.  I hope we aren’t losing anyone to you.  I can’t think of anyone we’ve gotten in the past year or two from Jasper.  But anyways, should be a really good basketball season for this bunch.  I’m sure to all the fans and the community this loss must feel like a major let down.  It will be considered a disappointment in most eyes since we all thought this would be the year, and we all preached as if it would be.  I just hate it for the kids.  It’s okay.  Stand tall.  Keep you head up.  Disappointing, but still a great season.

Huge letdown but most knew when Taye got hurt in the Meigs game it would really hinder the offense on down the road. A super bunch of kids who helped turn the program around the past 2 years. (That shouldn't get lost in all of this.)

Regroup and come back at it next year is all you can do. The next few years should be fun in Jasper.

I've watched these kids since little league and it's tough seeing them go out but very proud of all of them. Great players and even better young men.

MC has internal issues that need to be addressed before they,

    A. Get beat again next year and the year after.
    B. Attempt to get kids from elsewhere

    C. Before they lose kids to another team that plays down the road from them since they are always playing more football as of late down the stretch.

I wouldn't talk about internal issues

    A. It's hard to win your last game of the season. You surely know that.

    B. Who's on probation right now for recruiting violations?

    C. See B.

I was really proud of the sportsmanship both teams showed at the end of the game… A lot of hugging showing true respect for each other!!!

Our kids are usually like that. They help others up after tackles and congratulate teams in a loss. There's a few that like to dog us but these kids are good sports no matter what sore losers say.
