  1. Tell ya what, drive by East next time your in Nashville, then go by MBA, CPA, BA, Ensworth, Father Ryan or Lipscomb. Doubt you'll have that same opinion
  2. The fact your allowed to walk freely scares me.1A doesn't call you out on your bs like we do
  3. Here here. @FridayMainEvent would have loved the games we've gotten so far
  4. There's a certain team in Murfreesboro that needs a 10th game.....
  5. Fair point. He was injured so often at UT that I forget he played there. Probably the best OL Oakland has ever had, but Kaden Mowl will be up there by the end of his senior year
  6. Oakland hasn't had alot of players play well at the P5 level, so it's been a joy seeing him excel at the next level. His versatility will end up getting him drafted
  7. Jordan hasn't gotten alot of touches this year, but has made the most of it when he has
  8. We're a little bit more civil in these parts
  9. We'll see. I'll take Derek Hunt over Jones. Crootin' only goes so far
  10. "Losers assemble in little groups and complain about the coaches and the players in other little groups. But winners assemble as a team." Bill Parcells
  11. Well one school in Blount County ran into a roadblock
  12. I have been fortunate to know several good people that are coaches, some of them head coaches. Being HC absolutely puts a strain on everything in that person's life and it gets more taxing at the lower levels. Also should be said not everyone is cut out to be a Head Coach and that's OK, doesn't mean they aren't a great coach
  13. I can't believe coaches aren't lining up out the door, who wouldn't want to run a program at a school where the parents get a coach fired if Johnny isn't playing.....
  14. No argument here with wins over Bearden, 5A defending champ West and Ravenwood
  15. Have said it all year, Alcoa is a 6A program with a 3A enrollment
  16. Oakland-Riverdale had a few games in the late 90s that drew 20k, back when Murfreesboro had only 2 HS
  17. 8-6A was a better region, but Center Grove has been a top 30-40 team in the country with a QB that's going to Indiana. True not Oakland's toughest schedule but hard to put one together when everyone says no. I'm jealous that Houston plays in a region where they only have to schedule 3 non-region games. I do think Houston can match Oakland in the trenches for a time. Late 3rd-4th having guys go both ways is going to start to show for Houston, just like it did for Bradley. That said, it may not matter if Oakland has trouble with penalties or turnovers due to a wet football
  18. Congrats @CougarDadx2. MTCS held up their end, now it's time for Oakland to win 2 for RuCo
  19. One of the things I really liked about Quarles is using the TE up the seam and it was open EVERY. SINGLE. TIME Oakland was fortunate I guess, our game at Christian County was called pretty fairly. I've heard Alcoa didn't have the same luck when they went to Corbin

  21. People see a game from Oakland in the playoffs and they think they can't pass but anyone that saw them when Freeman was the sole starter at QB knows that's not the case. He's going to put up some big numbers when he's a senior There were a few iffy class against CG, but they straight up whipped us. Game could have been at Oakland and UT wouldn't have made much difference. CG has been a top 30-40 team in the country all year and it showed. If you want to see an TN team getting screwed over in a out of state game ask @Blaze45 about the time Blackman traveled to Bowling Green
  22. After watching each team's semifinal each time I'm hear to give my (slightly biased) opinion....... Houston offense v. Oakland defense: The match-up that the inclement weather will affect the most. I like that Houston sprinkles in a little but of everything, little bit harder to get a read on their tendencies. Houston does throw the ball more, but most of these passes were to get the ball to their playmaker on the perimeter. Sisa is a handful, he can dissappear behind all the size Houston has upfront hits top speed pretty quickly and if he gets past the initial level, only way he's going down is if you got the angle on, not a lot of east-west movement, once he gets the ball he may make one cut then hits it. Houston does a really good job getting the ball to their playmakers quickly. Oakland has faced better QB's but Houston's is no slouch, he did float one on a obvious passing down, hopefully Oakland can force Houston into those type of situations. Sisa gets most of the praise but #7 hurt Brentwood more than once and #9 is a solid safety valve when things break down. The shovel pass Houston ran in the first half was a beauty Oakland offense v. Houston defense: Should be a great matchup. Each line has plenty of size up front. Really impressed by the discipline of Houston that sniffed out screens by Brentwood a few times. Had Baylor Hayes running for his life all night, felt like they were blitzing but alot of times they were just bringing 4. Brentwood was able to hurt them a little over the middle, maybe that's something Oakland can exploit on a 2nd or 3rd & short. Team speed is as close I've seen to matching Oakland since Center Grove, even if you got them dead to rights on a play, they recover really well. Biggest question I have for the defense is can they hold up to Oakland's running game when so many starters go both ways. Thats hard to do. Wouldn't be surprised to see go tempo a few times just to see if they can tire Houston out a little Other factors: 90 percent chance of rain for both Friday and Saturday, this is the kind of game that seems to favor Oakland, not sure how many times Houston will want to risk a quick or shovel pass in those conditions. I'm sure Houston will refute any idea that their nervous, but there will be a point during the game where it hits them that they are playing for a title, for the entirety of Oakland's roster, all they've ever known is playing for a gold ball, aside from a couple. This is also a 5 (6 if you count the time change) hour trip for Houston, that's a long time to be on a bus Factoring all that, I'm taking Oakland, 24-13
