  1. All the talk this year and like the regular season scores indicated... beside Waverly... 5AA was tougher!
  2. Webb was the best player Forrest saw in 2A this year? He was 0-6 with 0 yards passing and 5 carries for only 39 yards w/ 2tds as a runner. He doesn't even rank in the top 4 for rushing on his own team in both that game and the season. Just seems his number was called in the red zone. Against Forrest Lewis Co's RB Potts had 88yards 1TD, RB Sharp had 74 yards, and RB C. Nash had 50 yards. So the 4th leading rusher of the game with only 39 yards was the best player Forrest saw this year? Really? On defense he only had 2 solo tackles/3 assisted tackles against Forrest. Not Eagleville's QB Ethan Cobb that went 13-20 for 128 yards 1TD & rushed for 68 yards & 2TD in a win over Forrest. Or even CA's Tre Davidson that ran for 100+ yards against in their against Forrest?
  3. Thanks... I wasn't trying to set anyone out with my post. The hype wasn't meant for the ones I quoted either. I was really wanting the insight because I have not seen them and could only have a prediction based on the scores.
  4. I've got a question for anyone that's seen Region 6 play. I will clarify that I don't know anything about Region 6 other than their scores, which doesn't always tell you everything. I definitely believe Waverly is on a level all their now in Region 6. But, I just don't see all the hype over Riverside or Hickman Co. The reasons are listed below... Hickman Co. only beat Summertown 14-13. Summertown has been blown out by Lewis Co, CA, & Forrest. Summertown hasn't even scored a TD against those three (28-0, 49-0, & 43-0). Hickman Co. got beat 55-7 by Lewis Co in the only head-2-head matchup. Hickman Co. got blown out by Franklin Road Academy 48-7. CA beat Franklin Road Academy 56-21 just two weeks prior. Riverside only beat Hickman Co. 32-28. Riverside only beat Obion County 35-34, but Lewis County beat Obion County 49-24. Again, I'm seriously asking and not trying to start anything other than pointing out the wins/loses that seem to favor Region 5 over Region 6 (EXCEPT with Waverly).
  5. Gotcha... Maybe we just looked like we had 50 players but I just checked & counted the kids. I don't know about this year but was told we were in the 20s and then here are the numbers from the last three years of Middle School Football teams 2016 -29 players , 2015-28 players , 2015-29 players. Again it's another assumption made about CA that isn't true. The numbers did not drop from the 50s to teens... we barely have over 50 total kids in a grade. LOL.
  6. nice reply! It's a lot stronger! Enjoy your regular season!
  7. As for the Jr High numbers this year, it's just one of those things that happen at every school. Some grades have more players than others. The school had another record enrollment number this year. There hasn't been a decline overall. Some grades have numbers and others don't. As for the kids from other counties playing at CA, that rule was broken? If CA follows the rules set forth by the TSSAA for staying in Division 1 then... What? If a parent decides they want to send their kid to CA then that's an option everyone has. It's not like public schools and their athletes aren't doing the same thing. I know for a fact that there are a number of kids playing sports at current public schools inside Maury County and are zoned for other schools inside the county that have the exact same sports. Cullycutter, an athlete that played sports in your elementary & middle school is now playing a sport at Central and Cully has this sport. I can name kids at Mt. Pleasant, Hampshire, Central, Richland, etc... that are playing school sports out of zone that their own school has! As for the out of county thing with CA, there are a number of kids that live outside Maury County that are paying a fee to attend public schools inside Maury County. I know one kid at Richland that lives in the middle of Columbia! I say all that to say... If it's legal for these public school under TSSAA rules then it's fine! But don't go throwing stones at CA when there are public schools / athletes in almost every public school in our district doing the exact same thing that these coaches and admins are meeting about. Again... if CA or any school is breaking TSSAA rules, then report them!
  8. If both teams come into the game mentally prepared for a tough battle... then the team that makes less mistakes will pull out the close win. Checkout how close they are on offense. It should be a good game! BUT... Go Dawgs! Lewis County 9-0 233.9 rushing yards per game, 34 TDs/ 9 fumbles 45.6 passing yards per game, 7 TDs/ 4 Ints Defense against Region common opponents: 7.0 pts per game Columbia Academy 7-1 * lost to 4A Spring Hill Offense: 261.0 rushing yards per game, 27 TDs/ 8 fumbles 74.1 passing yards per game, 6 TDs/ 3 Ints Defense against Region common opponents: 10.25 pts per game
  9. 26-21 CA wins. The move up to 2A Region 5 has been exciting... another good battle by both teams.
  10. Yeah Summertown was never in it. CA's Defense allowed no first downs, -28 yds total offense, Summertown was not allowed across the 50yd line. CA's Offense was experimenting with two new players at QB for over half the game. There didn't seem to be much unity amongst Summertown's players. They were cussing and yelling at each other all night and a member of their chain gang gave the line judge a few choice words before receiving a personal foul for running across the field after CA's 3rd TD of the night.
  11. I must be missing the point as well. I don't see the 8th Graders playing with 9th Graders during March & April as being any type of TSSAA Violation. The possible issue I see is the AD and school coaches directly "coaching" more than 3 of their own kids during that time. My child is just now a freshman and doesn't currently play on a travel team with any kids from his school, so I've never dealt with this issue but it's my understanding that the 50% Rule does not apply from the time the school's basketball team is eliminated for the season to the start of the next school year. It only applies from the 1st day of the school year until the team is eliminated for the year. 50% Rule – Participation (includes practice or games) during the school year on a non-school team prior to the school season by students that will play the following season on the high school team is limited to 50% of the number of players required to play the game, which would be three in basketball. Only the specified number of students participating on a non-school team prior to the school season may be placed on the high school eligibility list the following season. Those students cannot be interchanged on the school’s team roster. Again, I personally have never dealt with this so I could be wrong and would like to see for myself what other rule it would fall under.
  12. These are just as hilarious this morning as they were last night! I hope TheBaldestEagle enjoyed his drive back up I-65 last night.
  13. 1- 80yd kickoff return TD and 3 running TDs.
  14. Anyone have an update on the Loretto boy that was transported by EMS last night after the nasty fall? He's been in our thoughts and prayers.
  15. Anyone know of a website, facebook page, twitter account, etc. for this tournament?
