  1. 2 OF THE TOP 4 TEAMS COMING OUT OF THE (OLD) SINGLE A DISTRICT 15A - One for sure advances, time will tell about the other, either way 14AA will be represented well going further. Hope the Lions can string two more wins together to get out of the district!! Good luck to whom ever comes out of it!! Tough AA District!!
  2. i agree with the predictions....1 & 2 may flip...just see how the head to head goes? These are some heated battles being it's a rivalry game. Riverside will have some great pitching so you never know. I don't have a dog in the race but i will be rooting the SH Lions on!!
  3. Looks like two classic battles in the West: To earn a berth to the BORO.... Adamsville will travel to Peabody. Huntington travels to Scott's Hill.
  4. #1 Seed Scott's Hill takes on #2 Seed Adamsville for the District Championship tonight. SH will have to beat Adamsville twice to claim the Title. Adamsville beat SH earlier this week 2-1. Should be a great district 15A battle. Side note: In Last 8 years. District 15A has played for 7 state titles winning 5 of them. Pretty good testament of how tough this district is every year.
  5. Looks like Scott's Hill and Adamsville will be advancing from District 15A. Both of these teams are very solid clubs.
  6. Scoot's Hill may not be one of the State's Best , but It's very Nice and I have yet to hear a player just Not Rave about the playing Surface.
  7. Trader, it was another very competitive ball game. Been an emotional week for the community's. Our prayers go out to all the families affected.
  8. 1st meeting of the season Between SH and Riverside at Riverside was a Barn Burner...Watched a lot of baseball in my years and I'm NOT SURE I have ever witnessed any better of a Game. It was a battle from Start to Finish. With Riverside Hitting a 2 Run Walk Off in the Bottom of the 7th with 2 outs. Several Web Gems. What a way to start off the Young season. You always want to win them all but Couldn't be any more proud of My SH LIONS. They proved to me last night they can play in a Hostile Environment. They handled themselves very well considering it was their Second time on the Field. Tip your HAT and strap them on today! 15A is AGAIN going to be a BATTLE...Some GREAT BASEBALL in 15A...Looking forward to watching some Great Baseball.
  9. not sure about the strategy at the plate. Be interesting to see how Lexington's bats preform..The talent is there to make a run if there bats come around. IMO
  10. As far as where they fit in to our rotation: the word is still out on HM - He could move up. Coach has eased him along . We at SH are very Hopeful. He has really good stuff. Could easily give any team a fit. I will give you my opinion to how our rotation will go this year but As you know this could change. I honestly feel like we have 5 arms to throw at teams with others to come in and get you some innings. Russell- Not going to comment due to being related. lol Manness and Alexander - both have huge upsides. Both Could PITCH and Should pitch at next Level. IMO. Montgomery has lots of movement from left side. has Pitched and Won some Big Games. Very Effective McPeake - Maybe the hardest kid on the team to square up.(NASTY) Austin - has improved a lot and can come in and make some pitches and get you some innings. His development is coming on great. Should be very Solid HS pitcher. Pearcy - Strike throwing kid that usually keeps it down. Can get you some innings and get outs. Be interesting to see how the Coaches set up the rotations with the pitch count rule. The 3 lefties on the staff could be a big asset. Good problem to have. Very Unique Staff because they all bring something different to the table. And all of them will have a solid D behind them. SH has some good young talent. Coach Harken does a superb job in developing talent. I will say this about SH...if they keep the walks down. They should compete in every game they play. I have said for 3 years now that McNairy has great talent but as you stated , hitting and those errors that keeps them on the field seem to always get them. IMO...its more the mental stuff that seems to be what always get ya'll. IMO it appears at times players try to do to much. I have watched several of those young men over the years play alot of baseball...I personally think that will be better this year. Sometimes it just takes teams a while to get over the hump and learn how to win....I really think that's the issue...Some figure it out and some don't. IMO the pcs are there for you guys....That's why i love this Game...You just never know what you will see happen on that field....
  11. What's everyone's predictions in this district? This district usually one of if not the most competitive districts in the state. SH is a very Solid BB team and should compete. From What I have seen so far this year they are as Solid of a team that SH has ever put on the Field but Baseball is a funny game at times. I haven't seen any of the other teams but with JC , Riverside , TCA , Adamsville and Madison you just never know. (Middleton, in years past just hasn't competed in Baseball) JC has an Ark. State Signee that can beat anybody on any given night. Riverside has some Great arms and are always going to battle. TCA is always tough , well coached and always draws a lot of the area's talent. Can never count them out. Adamsville - they got some great arms and bats as well. Got some great leadership as well. Can never count them out. Madison has competed in years past but has lacked depth but always has that "guy" that seems to allow them to compete. Whomever comes out of this District as the winner or Runner up in May should have a legitimate shot at a state Title IMO...All You can ask for is a SHOT. District 15A - a good solid Baseball Diistrict. Check the teams schedules. If anyone likes High School Baseball. A person Would be Hard served to find any better match Ups. There is always some Show Downs in District 15 A. It's here and I'm Excited to get the opportunity watch these young men Compete. As always. GO SH LIONS...play hard and play the GAME RIGHT, Which they do.!! PROUD TO BE a LION....#GOINGTOMISSTHIS
  12. After seeing Lexington and McNairy , this will be an interesting District. Both of the teams have the talent and the arms to win it. Haven't seen Chester or South Side this year but I predict this to be a very tough District. Good Match ups as usual. I think Lexington has a few more athletes and just a little more Pop from top to Bottom but not sure about their approaches at the plate. If McNairy can keep it's composure they can play with anyone in their district. This will be a good one to keep an Eye on. Before I would be willing to make a prediction I personally would have to see CC and SS play. They both have very solid Programs and when May Rolls around it's all about Who's Hot and playing the BEST baseball. I don't think there will be just a standout #1 in this district. Be interesting to see some of the Coaches Game plans this year with the pitching changes. All in all though I think 14 AA could make some noise this year.
  13. Scott's Hill should be very Competitive, they should hit and play defense. They Lost 2 very good ball players from last years team. They have a very athletic kid coming back from an injury that should help a lot in the top of the order. They have a really good shot at making it back to the BORO. As we all know it takes a lot of things to happen to do that. VERY SOLID CLUB. Should be a Contender...I look for Lorreto to be a As Well..Don't ever count out JCS...they have a Huge arm in Carter Holt...Riverside,Peabody,Gibson County will probaly be solid as well as others. Whomever Comes out of the West will have earned it...Can't wait...Son's Senior year and hoping for FUN year.. GREATEST GAME in the World....play hard and leave it on the FIELD....
  14. Waverly wins. Heard a coach say waverly had best d he has coached against in 38 years.
  15. I was ok trader until I read this. Now I am in tears . Man I loved every minute of it!!!!
