  1. Sloan is a really nice player. Best player on the field was Carlisle, has been for four years. It was good for Westmoreland that Macon County took advantage of what was given and never committed to running Carlisle a lot. I'm not sure why though. He's the most dangerous player on the field. Congrats to Macon County.
  2. The No. 1s threw on Monday. It's just a matter of how much they threw. This thread was started on Monday.

    Brooke Parrott

How good is Brooke Parrott at Chattanooga Central? She's been lights out in the postseason, giving up single-figure hits while producing strikeout totals in the upper teens every game.
  4. Why the odd start time at 7:15 instead of 7?
  5. DCURTIS, is it a 7:15 start at WHHS tonight?
  6. You need four days rest if you throw 120 pitches. Need three days rest if you throw between 76-119 pitches. Two days rest for 56-75 pitches. One day of rest if you throw 25-55 pitches.
  7. So, they threw the ace but kept him below 120 so that they can throw again on Friday?
  8. How did the new pitch count regulations affect decisions today? Did everybody throw their aces today?
  9. JP is a good dude. Hate to hear it. Continued luck to the Panthers though.
  10. Lot of quality pitching ... not a strong district though.
  11. Oh, it is about that - three areas of candidates - top players from state qualifiers, Division I signees/commits and a select few with gaudy numbers.
  12. Kirk Haston was the Class A state tournament MVP in 1996 when Perry County finished as the runner-up.
  13. Any idea what Delk averaged that season? John Jenkins scored 1,228 points as a senior and averaged 42.3 per game, but Station Camp lost in the region semifinals.
  14. I'm talking about Hayes (no N in there) from Riverdale. She signed with Tennessee. Regardless of Holly letting the program slip, they're still viewed as an elite program. Thousands don't show up to watch women's college basketball at every home game everywhere. They do in Knoxville. Pat built it. Holly is having a difficult time maintaining it. Hayes is better than Levy. Now, Haynes-Overton (with a N) plays at East Nashville. She's a ridiculous athlete, super quick and leaps well. If she had size, she'd have gone to a power-five school. But she doesn't. Some of you are getting Hayes and Haynes-Overton confused. Nobody in the state is as good as Hayes right now. Levy and Haynes-Overton are both quality players too though.
  15. Quality wins for Macon County other than Clay County?
  16. Levy is a really nice player. Hayes is easily better. Doesn't matter though. Both got gold.
  17. Fantastic Haywood team? Who did Haywood beat that one would consider a quality opponent this season? Haywood won its district and region by defeating a team that finished 8-16.
  18. Ball went out of bounds off of Levy twice on the possession that she made the three-point play late in regulation. Ball was given back to Upperman both times. Officials let the players face the wrong way on the opening tipoff of the first overtime, and Pearl-Cohn was called for a backcourt violation once Shaw dribbled into the wrong court. So, I'd say the bad calls went both ways. Upperman found a way to get it done. Kudos to Upperman. Kudos to Pearl-Cohn on a great season. It was a great championship game.
  19. They haven't brought it every night. I don't understand it either. They're relatively talented though. Depth and mental focus are the biggest issues. There's a lot of positives though. Those guards are hard to handle. Second half should be interesting. Upperman has missed some open looks so far but has made some too.
  20. If both teams play up to their potential, Upperman wins easily? Easily? Poor comment. Clueless comment. P-C is the most talented team in the state, not the best team but the most talented AA team. Those posts aren't incredibly skilled, but they'll make it difficult to score once Upperman gets into the lane. Shaw is the quickest player in the state. Sandifer has played well in the tournament so far and is savvy. The quiet one has been Nelson, who can shoot it from the perimeter. Don't sleep on her, or she'll have 12-15 on 3-balls. It should be a good game. Levy is very good, but it won't be easy once she penetrates into the lane tomorrow. She may draw fouls, but she won't get easy baskets. Upperman will get some shots from the perimeter. If they knock them down, it might be gold. If not, Pearl-Cohn may be the third consecutive state champion from District 10-AA.
  21. Will Maplewood bring any fans? I'm wondering how packed it will be. I don't want to fight the masses if it's an overflow, but I'd love to attend if it's simply a full house. Best of luck to both.
  22. Don't be sensitive. You're still playing. The UC is not at the level it has been guys. That's all I'm saying. It's still a great win tonight against a traditionally good program. Enjoy it and best of luck next week.
