  1. Upper Cumberland is the worst its ever been. Great win for Macon County. Congrats. Carter was outstanding. Upper Cumberland "grind" had nothing to do with it. Best region in the state is Middle Tennessee this year (the same one the state champ has come from the last two years, though I don't believe the state champ will come from there again).
  2. Is anybody broadcasting the game or doing a Facebook live?
  3. White House can't stop anybody. They only gave up 79 last night, and the tempo wasn't very high. That 1-3-1 is poor. Poor defensively in every way ... TRUTH. Fortunately, they can outscore a few average teams. Continued luck to the Devils.
  4. The MVP is not Cole and Ward, though each is a solid player. Those White House numbers are skewed because they have given up points quickly in order to get opportunities to play a fast-paced game. The impact of those numbers is not near as much as a team that plays at a much slower pace. Desmarais is the MVP. Several of the teams could win the tournament though. There should be lots of interesting games. It will very likely end for all four teams that emerge from 9-AA in the first round of the region though. It's not as high quality of basketball this year.
  5. Upton, White House Heritage Neely, White House Heritage Gibbs, Harpeth Cox, Harpeth Cole, White House Ward, White House Derseweh, Greenbrier Garrison, Westmoreland Olson, Sycamore Jenkins, Cheatham County MVP-Desmarais, White House Heritage
  6. Where is the District 10-AA Tournament being held?
  7. I realize that Jackson County does not have a team at the level that program is accustomed to, but have they had injuries this season? They didn't look great but were solid early in the season.
  8. Did East Nashville get a forfeit win from Maplewood earlier this season? If so, what resulted in the forfeit?
  9. Who are Jackson South Side's quality wins against? Dyersburg, Haywood, Lexington and Rhea County? It's difficult to tell if South Side's a big threat statewide, because their schedule doesn't look very impressive.
  10. Did MJ make a shot to win it at the end?
  11. Who cares about the polls. I'm sure there will be a shakeup. Upperman and McMinn both won at home in their two games. CC and Westmoreland both won at home. They're all quality teams. East and P-C went to OT. They're all right there together, though it does appear that Upperman and McMinn could be the cream of the crop. Time will tell. Quality of play in AA is better across the state than in recent years. There's more parity, though there's not one clear-cut favorite. But nobody saw MLK winning it two years ago, nor East Nashville making its run last year. Maybe it will be another surprise this season. Good luck to all.
  12. What happened in the Maplewood/East Nashville game last night? And kudos to Smith County for a quality win over Livingston Academy.
  13. Cheatham and Westmoreland are in a tough region. Will be tough getting out of that region with East Nashville and Pearl-Cohn. Those four comprise the toughest region in the state without a doubt. McMinn is playing great basketball right now. Great win.
  14. Cleggy, Are you saying that Cheatham had a shot to win the AA title in 2014? Also, what happened in that Heritage/Greenbrier game last night?
  15. What happened in the overtime game between East Nashville and Pearl-Cohn last night?
  16. Are we talking about Kenedi Hambrick?
  17. And BTW, were Emily Christian, Lynn Randolph and Sheri Lewis all Upperman born and bred girls back in the 90s?
  18. I read this out of context. My apologies. I thought this was saying that any UC girls team brought in anyone from the outside. It's talking specifically about Upperman. We are a little sensitive about our Upperman girls.
  19. Have always heard that they recruit each other's players in the UC. Monterey players regularly vacating the premises for Clarkrange (even pre-Molly Heady). Laken Leonard moved from RBS to Jackson County after two seasons. I believe that Ashley Howard and Chelsey Brown were outside transfers for Clarkrange.
  20. What happened to Elliot? I thought he played recently but has disappeared again. If it's not him becoming eligible, then who is going to be eligible after Christmas for WHHS?
  21. Elizabethton has played nobody. Every win is over a sub-500 team. Their one opponent with a winning record resulted in a seven-point loss to a 4-3 Science Hill team in the season opener. I'm not bashing Eton. But I feel they'll struggle with CAK in the second round. I wouldn't be surprised if they struggled with Scott or McMinn Central (likely McMinn Central) in the opening round. It's just hard to pick up your level of play when you're so accustomed to playing a lower level of competition. Good luck to the Cyclones though.
  22. Was Carlisle out for a period of time in this game? Box score shows that Henry threw a few passes.
  23. That team may be sophomore laden, but if so, those sophomores are standing on the sideline. The only sophomore who is making a significant impact is Sloan, and he wasn't a major factor offensively last Friday. I can only think of two other sophomores who are playing any snaps. You can spin it to call the team junior laden, but there will be more losses to graduation than some apparently realize (Carter, Crowson, Carter, James, York, Watson, Gardner, Wright, Hall are among the seniors).

    Majors get in foul trouble?

I just saw that the MLK girls lost to Lipscomb in the district tournament. How did that happen? I thought MLK was rolling along. I didn't see that one coming.
